I live in Wisconsin which is very German by US standards, and there are a lot of similarities here (more creative types in the cities, but also the types who go up to their cabin to hang out with the same people, get drunk and play cards, listen to simple music, etc.)…although I think every culture has their own version of that. I always think about the “openness” personality trait, and how some people love new things, creative things, intellectual topics…and others are turned off by those things and prefer to stick to the things they already know and like.

Following along on your hike took me back to a childhood memory of one of my favorite forest hikes here in Sweden. I'm very relaxed now from watching the landscape and listening to your thoughts. Haha, I recognize your observations, nevertheless, I think this counts for most European countries; you have the more sophisticated cosmopolitan travellers, that can be divided in different groups, and you have the “spaghetti and chipsbrigade” that clog together in all-inclusive entertainment holliday destinations, eating meat, pizza, shouting and drinking bear. It is a good thing we all seem to concentrate in our own bubble of preference at certain places so we can avoid eachother. :-) And about germans not having taste: Well, from my perspective (NL!) when I think about germans I also think about art collectors, artists like Gerhard Richter, Bauhaus, LAMY fountain pens, Kraftwerk, Knoll, designers like Mies von der Rohe, even very friendly people with good manners, etc. But yeah, Hamburg and Berlin are so much nicer then all those Märklin-like boring little towns scattered all over the country.

That was an interesting listen. You're talking a lot of sense imo. I deleted all my social media (does youtube count?) and I try to avoid the news as much as possible, one of the best decisions I've made. I still end up finding out about a lot of the crazy stuff going on but I try not to get involved.

Hey friend! I totally understand, as a viewer I know it can be frustrating, but I just want you to keep in mind that this is his channel! He is the creative genius here, and he is creating for too many people to please all, so what is he to do other than create content he loves. If you’re not really interested in political commentary there are tons of other videos :)

@@mackers6431 You missed the point, friend. The channel is called find calm, ASMR, not political commentary on vaccines. I came here through ASMR, and enjoyed all previous relaxing videos. Of course, the owner can do as he wishes with his channel, but if the remit has now changed, perhaps the name of the channel should also be changed so as not to deceive viewers.
