Even If is a short film that tries to reflect the issues of bullying and excessive violence in school. Alongside it represents the LGBT’s perspective of being treated badly by society. Just because you are different, doesn’t mean you are wrong. Be yourself.

I cried watching this. Because it's my story. When my ex got married, my world crumbled. I never fall in love again the way I felt for her. Though we gone separate ways, everytime we saw each other, We feel that we still love each other and that hurts us more. I also got married and have 2 boys but I'm never been happy the way I am when I am with her.

I have known who and what I was at such a young age, but fear got into me, so I kept it all in, told no one, and forced myself to try and be "normal". But after graduating from university and finally breaking up with a long-term boyfriend, I realized I only have one life to live and I don't want to spend it pretending to be something I'm not. So I'm happy now, turns out my friends don't mind it at all, my mom and brother are very supportive, and I have such a wonderful girlfriend whom I hope to marry someday. Stay strong! ขอชื่นชมนักแสดง แสดงออกมาได้ธรรมชาติมาก ไม่รู้สึกติดขัดตรงไหนเลย ยังรู้สึกว่าแสดงดีกว่านักแสดงใหม่ช่องใหญ่บางช่องอีก ส่วนmood and tone ของหนังดีมาก ชอบการเล่นแสง สี โดยเฉพาะฉากที่เล่นกีตาร์ ถ้าสมมติว่าฉากนั้นเป็นฉากตอนแฟนกันแล้ว ฉากจูบนั้นคงจะโรแมนติกมากๆ แต่ฉากจูบดันอยู่ในฉากที่เศร้าที่สุด กลายเป็นฉากจูบพร้อมน้ำตาที่รู้สึกเจ็บปวดไปกับตัวละคร แต่ยอมรับฝีมือการกำกับ การตัดต่อ เสียงประกอบของเรื่องมาก เป็นงานของมหาลัยที่ทำออกมาได้ดีมากๆ ขอชื่นชมจากใจเลย แต่ฉากจบก็เศร้าไป อยากเห็นเรื่องราว ญญ สมหวังบ้าง แต่ก็เข้าใจข้อจำกัดดีค่ะ เป็นกำลังใจให้ในงานต่อๆไปค่ะ

This short film is such a heart-wrenching story, well-written and beautifully portrayed by this young talented cast. Although mainstream GL viewers tend to prefer light-hearted rom-coms, there are actually many good drama films/series out there that also need our support if we want the GL entertainment industry to grow in terms of quality and diversity. My story basically, except attending her wedding part. I skipped her wedding deliberately to avoid awkwardness and pain. But I'm happy that she's happy with her husband and kids. Although I still miss her every now n then.

พล๊อตเรื่องแนวนี้มักจะจบลงแบบเดิมๆ ถามว่าผิดใหมก็ไม่ผิดอะไร แต่แอบนอยด์ เมื่อไหร่จะได้ดูหนังรักญญ.ที่Happyสักที ความสุขในรูปแบบญญ ชช มันมีอยู่จิงๆนะรอบตัวเราที่เห็นก็มีหลายคู่มากที่อยู่ร่วมทุกข์ร่วมสุขจนตายจากกันเหมือนคู่ชญ. แต่ก็เข้าใจได้ว่าดราม่าคือสิ่งที่ดึงดูดคนได้มากกว่า แล้วอีกอย่างในชีวิตจริงบางครั้งคนที่เป็นLGBTQAI++ ก็เลือกที่จะเปลี่ยนตัวเองกลับไปสร้างครอบครัวแบบปกติมากขึ้นเช่นกัน มันก็ดราม่าจิงๆแหละนะ😢

จริงๆ ถ้าจบแบบหลังจากนั้นแยกย้ายไปเติบโต จนสุดท้ายด้วยหน้าที่การงานหรืออะไรก็ตาม ก็วนกลับมาเจอกันอีก แล้วพูดซ้ำไดอาร็อกนั้นว่าใครคนไหนก็ไม่เหมือนเธอ แล้วคบกันแต่งงานกันก็ดีนะ การจบแบบ bad end มันไม่ได้สะท้อนสังคมเสมอไป ยิ่งพอตอนจบซินแต่งงานกับผู้ชาย (ซึ่งเข้าใจได้ในแง่เป็นไบ) แต่มันจะชอบไปตอกย้ำความคิดบางกลุ่มคนว่า ญญ ก็แค่เพื่อนกัน อยากลองกันเล่นๆ ไม่ได้รักกันจริงจังอ่ะ ผลิตซ้ำความคิดที่ไม่ค่อยโอเคอ่ะ ไม่ค่อยเข้าใจมหาลัยเท่าไหร่ ไม่ให้อิสระเลย แบบนี้ก็ไม่ต่างจากผลิตหุ่นยนต์ลงโปรแกรมให้ทำหนังหรอก เราเชื่อว่าพวกคุณยังไปอีกได้ไกลเลย เอาใจช่วยนะ 🙌🏻

รู้มั้ยครับว่านั่นคือพลอทที่ผมเขียนตอนแรกเลย! มีการเล่าการเติบโตของสองคนหลังจากจาหกันแล้วกระทั้งวันหนึ่งกลับมาพบกัน คือมันมีอะไรน่าเล่ามากกว่านี้เยอะมากแต่ว่า เนื่องจากที่มหาลัยให้ได้เพียงโปรเจคละ20นาที เราจำเป็นต้องตัดสคริปที่ใช้เวลานานเกินไปออก หรือเสียเวลาการถ่ายทำเยอะกว่าบัทเจทที่ตั้งไว้ เนื่องจากพวกซีนการเติบโตมันจะเป็นอารมณ์ Montage ที่ใช้เวลานานมาก หลักๆแล้วเราเลยต้องคงไว้ซึ่งเนื้อๆหรือซีนที่คัดมาว่าอย่างน้อยจะสามารถสร้างอารมณ์ต่อคนดูได้ดีครับ ถ้ามีโอกาสได้ขายงานลิขสิทธิ์แล้วได้มาทำใหม่อีกครั้งในงบที่ได้สปอนเซอร์เนี่ย ถ้าได้ทำซีรี่ย์หรือหนังเต็มผมเชื่อว่ามันมีอพไรให้เล่าได้ดีกว่านี้แน่นอนครับ

BECAUSE… In this country, LGBTQ society is not wide open like other countries. The only thing that LGBT people in my country want right now is to make people understand what LGBTQ have been through and finally respect them as what they are. When we finally have that in our society, there will be a tons of good ending because the bad ending like this will never existed in the future. Every country have different society, yours might have a good one to live happily with LGBTQ but in Thailand there are some progress going on which will take a long way.

I might have agreed with you if in fact she had a talk with May and explained what happened and kept in touch over the years. But after she says she never agreed to be a girlfriend, which she did, she then says she's sorry she didn't mean to say that and it's the very next day she disappears (we know this by the jerks apology) so it's highly likely the ex would have sent an invite to May for the wedding at a parent's suggestion as they were school friends and even I get invited to weddings of people that were in my grade but not really friends even now (though they're remarriages). And if they got along so good after school, why did Cin look surprised to see May in the audience? And when we see the tears start to fall from May eyes, why does Cin start smiling with a huge smile? It is so very cringe, and turns my stomach that someone can be that cold-blooded! No, I don't see how anyone could infer that they became friends after school, at least what we see of the film does not infer that.

I agreed with you on your point of view. Since this topic is very sensitive to touch for entertainment. It have many variable to look for when we started this project. First of all, I want to clarify that we aimed the target of audience for this movie to be Thai as the first audience because it is understandable in our country. You have to understand that each countries have a different perspective and acceptance for LGBTQ community. The first thing for people who watched this movie needs to know is that this is from Thai community. Thailand is a developing country. We just started to support LGBTQ in recent years and Male-Male series or film have been promoted to become more and more acceptable for a while. But there were no Lesbian movie or series to support their community like Gay. I want to make a perfect happy LGBT movies too but the circumstances in Thailand is not like other countries. We have to focus on reality in what is happening in our country. Before writing the script, we have interviewed a real Lesbian couples of their feelings and experiences that they would like us to show in our movie and it was a success. This is our start point to develop to what you said earlier. Please understand what we are trying to achieve here, as a director, I know that most of the thing is wrong but it is suitable for the situation we are having now in my country. This will wake up some people.

เราเป็น LGBT คิดมานานมากเหมือนกันค่ะว่า รูปแบบงานที่สื่อออกมาจากตัวละครที่เป็น Lesbian มีจุดจบที่ไม่เคยสมหวังในเรื่องอะไรเลย ตั้งแต่ครอบครัว หน้าที่การงาน รวมไปถึงความรัก ตัวละครสะท้อนออกมาว่ามีปมในชีวิตเยอะแยะไปหมด คือในใจคิดว่ามันรันทดขนาดนั้นเลยเหรอวะ?? ดูแล้วเรายังรู้สึกหดหู่เลยว่า ชีวิตของพวกเราที่สื่อกำลังพยายามบอกทุกคนว่า หนังที่สร้างมันคือหนังสะท้อนสังคม หรือ educated ให้คนที่ยังไม่เข้าไม่ถึงพวกเราให้เข้าใจว่าจริงๆ พวกเราจะต้องเจออะไรมาบ้างถึงจะประสบความสำเร็จ สอนให้ผู้ชมอย่าไปทำแบบนี้กับพวกเรานะ ต้องให้เกียรติในความเป็นมนุษย์หรือใดๆ ทั้งที่จริงประเด็นนี้ไม่ต้องทำหรอกแค่ทำให้มันไม่แปลกแยก เดี๋ยวมันก็ถูกปลูกฝังและเรียนรู้กันไปเองตามเวลา ซึ่งเรามองว่า การยัดเยียดอะไรที่ไม่จำเป็น มันจำเจน่าเบื่อและไม่มีประโยชน์เลยค่ะ ทำไปเพื่อสะท้อนอะไรก่อน? ถ้าจะ educated ให้สังคมเข้าใจ มันน่าจะแสดงแนวทางที่สร้างสรรค์ แสดงมุม positive ออกไปค่ะ ซึ่งตรงนี้คนทำหนังต้องเข้าใจก่อนว่า Lesbian สามารถมีความสุขในชีวิตได้ ประสบความสำเร็จได้เหมือนกันไม่ต่างจากคนอื่น ประเด็นเรื่องการไม่ถูกยอมรับ มันควรถูกกลืนไปกับหนังทุกเรื่อง หรือละครทุกเรื่องว่า ทุกคนพิเศษเท่ากันหมด ไม่ว่าเค้าจะเลือกให้ตัวเองเป็นแบบไหนก็ตาม มันไม่ควรนำมาใส่ในเนื้อเรื่องแล้ว ถ้ายังทำให้มันดูแปลกแยก มันก็แปลกแยกแบบนี้ต่อไปเรื่อยๆไม่จบ ไม่เกิดการพัฒนาค่ะ สิบกว่าปีที่ผ่านไป เราเห็นพลอตเรื่องวนลูปเดิมซ้ำไปมา จนมันปลูกฝังทางความคิด และทำให้คนเชื่อไปแล้วว่า จุดจบมันจะออกมาแบบไหน ดังนั้นเราถึงบอกว่าทำงานอย่างสร้างสรรค์เถอะค่ะ จะปลูกฝังสังคม สะท้อนสังคม มันไม่จำเป็นต้องสะท้อนแต่มุมเลวทราม พูดตรงๆเราเสียดายฝีมือคนไทยจริงๆค่ะ

เข้าใจดีเลยครับ ถ้าให้เลือกได้พวกเราไม่อยากไม่ทำหัวข้อที่เป็นเป้าเสี่ยงขนาดนี้หรอกครับ มันเป็นมเรื่องเซ็นซิทีฟมากๆ โดยเฉพาะการที่คนที่ไม่ใช่ LGBT มาทำหนัง LGBT. แต่แล้วอย่างไรก็ตามสิ่งที่ครอบกรอบอิสระผมไว้ก็คือมหาลัยครับ ผมเสนอจะทำความรักที่สวยงามไม่ได้มีการนำเรื่องเก่าๆแบบนี้มาเล่าใหม่ แต่ว่า สิ่งที่มหางัยได้ตอบรับมาคือ “ความรักโรแมนติกไม่ได้ให้คุณค่าใดๆต่อสังคม หรือสะท้อนสังคมให้เห็นคุณค่า” เมื่อถ้าเราไม่สามารถเสนอขายงานที่มีคุณค่าได้ เขาก็จะไม่ให้คุณทำครับ มันเหมือนว่าเค้าไม่อยากให้เราทำเรื่องราวที่มันง่ายไปเอ็นเตอร์เทนไป จนมันปลูกฝังทางความคิดไปแล้วแบบที่คุณบอกจริงๆ ไม่มีการพัฒนาใดๆจริงครับ แต่อย่างน้อยที่ผมรู้สึกว่าเป็นบ้อดีในตรงนี้ คือสังคม Yuri gl ในไทยกลับมองว่าเค้าได้ถูก present บฝเป็นสำคัญบ้างสักที

ใจจริงก็อยากให้จบสมบูรณ์สมหวังมากเลยครับ แต่พอเป็นชิ้นงานส่งมหาลัย เขาต้องการมากกว่า Happy Ending ซึ่งเหมือนครอบกรอบอิสระเราไปพอสมควรเหมือนกันครับ ถ้าได้ทำเรื่องนี้เป็นซีรี่ย์จริงๆ คงจะสนุกกว่านี้น่าดูเลยครับ 🙏🏻

This is so well done. I may be stressed out watching it, but it is showing a reality in that we need to be aware of. I can’t tell you the number of stories of bullying that I have read about that have resulted in young people people harming themselves because of it. There is excellent acting here, excellent sound and lighting, and excellent cinematography. I pray the story here will help people be kinder to all.

แต่ถ้าในมุมผู้กำกับและคนเขียนบทอย่างผมนะครับ ตอนที่เขียนถ้าไม่มองถึงด้านต้องสะท้อนสังคม ผมจะมองถึงด้าน การเล่นกับความรู้สึกคนดู และการหักมุมมากกว่า เพราะการที่เราสามารถทำให้คนดูรู้สึกตามบรรยากาศของการเล่าเรื่องได้นั่นสำคัญ ยิ่งถ้ามีการหักมุมหรือเหตุการณ์ที่สามารถทำให้คนดูอินไปกับมันได้จะทำให้การเล่าเรื่องประสบความสำเร็จครับ ซึ่งในมุมนี้ทำให้การเอาเรื่อง Bully - เหยียด การรังแก มาเป็น pacing ในการนำไปสู่จุดแตกหักได้ง่ายครับ เลยเป็นที่นิยมในการมาเล่าในส่วนมาก

I've recently gotten into watching Thai dramas and this popped up in my recommendations today and I'm so impressed. This is as good as any show or film that I've seen from any big company or channel. The cinematography is spot on in all aspects and kinda unbelievable for a student film. Honestly, it's looks so nice. So many good choices were made. The script was well written and super relevant. The acting was very natural and realistic. Crisp edit. Nice use of music and v/o. Kudos to the director for his work and the team he put together. Lots of up and coming talent here. Yeah, just a good piece of art all around.

Espero no futuro ver short films como esse com um final melhor, mais alegre, porém compreendo que o objetivo é mostrar algo mais próximo da realidade de hoje na Tailândia, então em si o projeto já é um ponto de início. No Brasil o casamento homoafetivo foi legalizado em 2012 e hoje, 10 anos depois, ainda estamos tentando conquistar espaço para a comunidade LGBTQ no audiovisual. Esse ano, no Brasil, foi ao ar o primeiro beijo entre duas mulheres em uma novela da maior emissora de televisão do Brasil no horário de maior audiência, quando eu vi a cena eu me emocionei tanto, milhões de pessoas estavam vendo a mesma cena que eu, quem ligasse a televisão estaria vendo a mesma cena, uma cena tão positiva entre um casal de mulheres que se apaixonaram e terminaram juntas no final... Me senti muito representada e esse é o porquê de valer tanto a pena lutar por representatividade. Espero do fundo do meu coração que no futuro seja assim também na Tailândia, ligar a televisão e ver um casal gay, ou lésbico, ou de bissexuais, ou simplesmente pessoas trans sendo retratados de forma positiva e que suas histórias sejam finalizadas com um final alegre, que não passem por tantas dificuldades por serem quem são, que sejam aceitos, que se casem e que fiquem juntos no final. A luta por representatividade sempre vale a pena e espero que essa história seja só o começo! 💕
