I've developed a liking for US stamps after seeing several US youtubers show their collections. However, the US stamps I can get hold of here in the UK only ever seem to have really heavy cancels obliterating the design. I really enjoy seeing the mint stamps you receive in your trades as I get to see the design without the usual splodge! Loved seeing all your stamps from your haul, also the Canadian leaflets and postmarks. What a lovely group of viewers you have. :)

I have some US albums for sale with a lot of mint never hinged and lightly cancelled stamps in them and although I don't usually ship to the UK, I would consider it if you are interested. If so, respond and we can figure out a way to exchange emails. I recently purchased an old Lincold Stamp album from the UK and it has been fascinating to see how Brits' stamp collecting differs from Americans'.

@@joannewolfe5688 Thanks so much for the offer. At the moment, I haven't the funds to add to my collection unfortunately, so I'm working on sorting through my existing stockbooks instead. Otherwise, I would definitely have been interested. Thanks again for your such kind thought. :)

@@happybunny1329 Is there a particular era of US stamps that you collect? Maybe we could do some trading. Obviously not packages that would be expensive to send through Customs, but maybe just a few stamps here and there that would fit in a letter? Just a thought.

I love seeing stamp stories! Idea... for those trade envelopes you can't open on video, maybe pick a stamp / stamp set / minisheet / postmark from the trade and tell the story of the selected stamp(s) in a video instead of an unboxing video. :)

Still watching the video but immediately had to pause to say, Yes please, keep coming with the stamp stories. They are great, especially if you can link it to you, personally somehow. Also, our lives seem to be very similar. 1st sharing a birthday, then nephew graduating AND daughter graduating from middle school. Now I should expect a new work from home job to happen to me now! All the best! On with the rest of the video!

On the space stamp he was playing golf. On one of the missions an astronaut put a golf club head to the end of a collection device and took up a couple of golf balls. On re-entering the ship he paused and took a couple of shots. The first he hooked but the second he made and there is still debate on how far it traveled

Hey, no fair! You used several of my life hack maxim sayings in the intro. My wife just about went crazy. Someone who uses life sayings then laughs. Times two! Good luck on the new job, Mr Silk! My aforementioned wife worked remotely since we had our son in 1989 - before it was a thing! Keep making changes, keep opening stamps, but for heaven's sake....never, never, never change the energy level. It must remain high. We depend on it now. So much dryness in stamp collecting we need to imbue with enthusiasm! Eric, Canada.

Beautiful stamps - love the Canadian material. Congrats on the fully remote gig. I'm in office 2-days a week and it's perfect. Would love to go remote and live somewhere fun but that is a different kettle of fish! Enjoy the time you have with your kiddo - they grow up very very fast. But then you can go on adventures and they can drive lol

I am lucky enough to be retiring in my mid-fifties and plan on using my change in life to kick my collection into an even higher gear than I did during COVID. As friends, family and yourself get older, try not to let work get in the way of what is truly important. Like my time in Germany taught me.....work to live, not live to work!

Would also be interested in a story something along the lines of the evolution of a postmark. Maybe Chicago, looking at examples of early postmarks and how they have changed over the years to present day. Or maybe I'm the only viewer interested in postmarks? :)

First time watcher and WOW. I started collecting back in 1957...I did the same thing with many stamp exchanges over 30 days ago. Once a part time dealer when I finally learned sources to buy wholesale. I had 4 rooms full packed from floor to ceiling. Don't do too much now days but still like to try and fill some of the empty spaces in my collection. Always interested in world wide before 1970...The fun is in the hunt. Would like more info on your operation. Happy Collecting !!!

Wow on those cut squares! Not the easiest to catalog. I've got a Scott BOB album with all the spots, so that is how I'd organize them. If I didn't, I'd probably figure out how to acquire printed album pages for them or organize them by year on Vario pages. Educational videos on stamps are definitely ones I love. Your extra time is so appreciated and spreads knowledge into the world:) Hope you are able to make more videos with your new job. They are great!!! Thank you:)

Your new job is remote! Huzzah! An important detail only now revealed. That alone should reduce the stress level substantially. Although I always enjoy your videos, I have to say that my least favorite are the opening of stamp-trading packages. I don't know why, but I just find them boring and mostly fast-forward through them, despite your obvious enthusiasm. On the other hand, I LOVE the opening and reveal of albums you have purchased. Go figure. Somehow the hunt for treasure is more appealing to me than people just sending you stuff. Maybe if you have more time to do videos now, you might want to put a poll out to your viewers to see what content they most/least enjoy. Just a suggestion. I would be curious to hear/see what you do with albums after you cherry-pick them (I know you have talked about some specific albums, but I mean in general). I am trying to sell some nice old albums on eBay and man! it is an uphill battle! They are not even cherry-picked, but no one want's to pay squat for anything any more. Maybe you could reveal what you do (if anything) to make your cherry-picked albums "salable," and how you price them.

Appreciate the feedback... I've been so busy the last few months, I've made a few decisions I wondered about after. One was starting to trade stamps with folks... I got a request from someone to do it, and I thought 'that'd be fun...' Only now do I realize the amount of work that goes into it... and I, too, prefer my other videos...

Hi! I’m brand new to stamp collecting (kind of) and was wondering if it is possible to turn a hinged stamp album to a hingeless album? I’m not sure if you can place holders into a book. I just purchased a book from 1940 and wanted to turn that into a hingeless album.

Welcome to the hobby! And yes... the best (and most fun) way is to use mounts, they're a bit spendy but they'll preserve your stamps well... be sure to get the right size for the stamps you're using... Google will point you in the right direction (and I might do a video on it too, thanks for the idea!)
