So to answer a question that you asked about the patronus "does that mean her true love was snape?". Short answer no, but love does effect patronus'. James' patronus was a stag (like Harry's) and Lilly's was a doe, making them the perfect counter parts for each other, and effectively soulmates as a patronus is kinda a reflection of the individual. However, strong love can actually cause your patronus to change which is what happens to Snape's patronus. He loves lily so much his pateonus changes to match hers. In the book this also happens to Tonks after she falls in love with Remus (and snape actually mocks her for this).

Sorry in advance for this VERY LONG essay. In HBP, Dumbledore was dying slowly and painfully due to the curse from the ring when he tried to destroy it, which is why he wanted Snape to kill him (as well as to protect Draco and cement his position with Voldemort). When Dumbledore said "Please" he was actually asking Snape to kill him. Voldemort created the Horcruxes in an attempt to cheat death. Appropriately, his name is French for "Flight of Death" or "Steal/Cheat of death". Also, he had planned to split his soul in 7 pieces, which means 6 horcruxes AND his physical body. Then he would become mortal and could therefore be killed. But he unintentionally made the 7th horcrux with Harry when he killed his parents (and tried to kill him), therefore there were 8 pieces of his soul. The horcruxes were destroyed in the order they were created - diary, ring, locket, cup, diadem, Harry and Nagini. The Resurrection Stone doesn't actually bring people back from the dead, it just temporarily calls the soul back to earth in a form between living people and ghosts. In the book, Harry stops on his way to the forest when he remembers the snitch. Seeing his dead loved ones not only gives him the strength and courage to go through with letting Voldemort kill him but their spectral form visible only to him act as Patronus' to get past the Dementors. Harry is in limbo (between life and death) when he meets Dumbledore at King's Cross, so he isn't really dead. That is because 1. He is the true master of all of the Deathly Hallows and therefore the true Master of Death, which doesn't make you immortal but simply means you accept death (which is also why he couldn't fight back). 2. It only killed the part of Voldy's soul (the Horcrux) that was in him and made him mortal. 3. He chose to go back (Dumbledore said he could still choose to die). Also, the reason Voldy had to be the one to kill Harry, as Dumbledore said, is because Voldy bound him to himself when he took his blood during his resurrection in GoF. Dumbledore knew that Harry would have to face him and "die" by his hand in order to trick Voldy into destroying the Horcrux inside Harry. He just couldn't let Snape know. Voldemort killed Snape because he thought the Elder Wand belonged to him since Snape killed Dumbledore. But he didn't realise that whoever disarmed Dumbledore is the one who owned the wand (not who killed him) which was Draco. And when Harry disarmed Draco in DH P1, he became the owner. Snape didn't just die to save Harry, I believe he also died to save Draco because he made the Unbreakable Vow to protect him. And when Voldy asked him who owned the Elder Wand, Snape said it belonged to him, but he knew the wand answered only to Draco and he knew Voldy would kill Draco once he realised that. That's why he didn't put up a fight against Nagini. At least that's how I see it. Snape saying "Look at me. You have your mother's eyes." to Harry is because Lily's eyes were the last thing he wanted to see. Snape loved Lily but Lily didn't love Snape, at least not as more than friends. And once he started dabbling in the dark arts she distanced herself from him and eventually fell in love with James who was also Snape's mortal enemy. The deeper meaning of Snape's patronus changing into a doe like Lily's is that Lily's Patronus only became a doe after she fell in love with James (to compliment his stag). In PoA when Dumbledore explained to Harry that when he cast his Patronus, it was, in a way, his father appearing to protect him (so Harry was partially right that it was his dad who saved him). Snape's Patronus changing into the same form that Lily's used to take was proof that she was still protecting Harry. Snape hated James (for good reason), but if his Patronus changed into the form that Lily's had taken only when she fell in love with James, it would mean that he had come to accept the choices that she had made and was genuinely determined to protect her son, in spite of his hatred for his father. If you watch carefully in the duel between Snape and McGonagall, you can see that Snape deflects a spell cast from McGonagall, which hits the Death Eater twins the Carrows behind him. This foreshadows which side Snape was truly on. And, while it's clear where Snape's loyalties lied, I keep seeing fans argue whether he was actually good or bad. But as Sirius and Dumbledore both said, everyone has a bit of both inside them. What matters is which path you choose to follow. For years Snape chose to follow Voldemort and was a legit Death Eater. He is a arguably the most complex character in the series. The way he treated Harry was despicable. Even if it was because of James it doesn't excuse it or explain his treatment of other people. He was a bitter person and a bully. BUT, he had played the double (triple?) agent all this time and he did it to save Harry, or more specifically, Lily's son. Snape, despite all his flaws, could love. The fact that he could love without having been loved himself is what made him good (as opposed to Voldemort). Harry and Voldemort's final duel plays out very differently in the book. It's a super intense confrontation in the Great Hall with EVERYONE watching. Harry tells Voldy the truth about Snape and the Elder Wand, before using a Disarming Charm to defeat him. His death is very human as he drops to the ground and leaves a body behind (they filmed that version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHewqYWsZ7-UoJIsi=7pYEUvBtE6wlvAbN). While the film version is more visually pleasing, it just doesn't feel as intense or final. It also goes against the original point that without magic, Voldemort dies just like any other man, and he was never actually as "special" as he believed. That's probably what I am most mad about regarding the book-to-film adaptations. Voldemort caused his death in three ways. Firstly, by "killing" Harry he unintentionally destroyed the Horcrux, as Voldemort was unaware of that. Secondly, he possibly forgot about Nagini due to his determination to kill Harry and remembered her after she died, and thirdly, as he was not the true owner of the Elder Wand, it recognised Harry as its owner and allowed his killing curse to rebound and kill him. In the book Harry learns Dumbledore's darkest secret: That he may have accidentally killed his sister Ariana (she is the portrait that Aberforth has to help Neville and the kids travel back and forth). Ariana had trouble suppressing her magic as she accidentally killed their mother and required constant care and attention. In a duel between Dumbledore, his brother Aberforth, and Dumbledore's friend-turned-enemy Gellert Grindelwald (According to JKR, Dumbledore was gay and in love with Grindelwald), Ariana was killed, and none of them knew who cast the spell that caused her death. Dumbledore was reliving this memory in the cave when he and Harry went looking for the locket in HBP. In the book Harry returns the Elder Wand to Dumbledore's grave, which would leave the wand without a master and cause it to lose its power. But before he does, he uses it to fix his. While breaking it is surely safer, it makes no sense why he didn't at least fix his wand first, since the Elder Wand is the only wand capable of mending broken ones! And Harry DOES lose the ability to speak Parseltongue after Voldemort kills the Horcrux inside him. Neville being the one to kill the snake and essentially kill Voldemort is quite poetic since he could have been "The Chosen One" as his birthday is also at the end of July and his parents had also defied Voldemort three times (as the prophecy said). It's never explained in the films though. I'm conflicted on the Malfoys. They were pure-blood fanatics (especially Lucius) and Draco was a bully. But Narcissa never seemed interested in any of it and in the end all she cared about was keeping Draco safe. That's why she told Voldemort that Harry was dead (which made it the second time Harry was saved by a mother's love). Also, notice how Draco didn't come when his dad called him but as soon as his mum called him he did? Some could argue that them leaving and not fighting with Voldemort was a statement in itself, but it could also be seen as cowardly. So I wish they had kept one scene in - when Harry revealed that he was still alive, Draco was meant to help him by throwing him his wand. The scene was filmed but not included in the final cut: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGfQZamricSjg6csi=sYwtYueHmVskPSdD. Even though it wasn't in the book I am still mad they didn't keep it in. Before the scene was shot where Hermione is pretending to be Bellatrix, Emma Watson acted out the scene for Helena Bonham Carter so she would know how to act as if she were Hermione in this situation. So, essentially, this scene is Helena acting like Emma acting as Hermione acting like Bellatrix. Also, they couldn't use her wand because it was reported stolen so they would've known it was an imposter. If you really want to cry: When Harry reveals himself to be alive and everyone reacts with joy, if you look closely at George he starts saying 'Fred' before remembering that he is dead. Voldemort hugging Draco was not scripted but improv by Ralph Fiennes. Tom Felton genuinely didn't know how to react so the look of confusion and discomfort is real. Most of Voldemort’s speech was improv as well. I recommend reacting to the 20th anniversary special and maybe Fantastic Beasts (at least the first two). I also recommend taking the REAL Sorting Hat Quiz on wizardingworld.com to see what house you're in (I'm a proud Hufflepuff!).

******* SPOILER IF YOU WANNA READ THE BOOKS ******* In the book, Harry becomes an Auror and eventually Head of Auror Office and Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement under Minister for Magic Kingsley Shacklebolt (Aurors are sort of the wizard police). Ginny becomes a professional Quidditch player and eventually the senior Quidditch correspondent at the Daily Prophet. Harry and Ginny get married and have three children: James Sirius, Albus Severus and Lily Luna. Harry is also very close to his godson Teddy Lupin and remains on "Christmas card terms" with his cousin Dudley. Aunt Petunia is believed to have passed away in 2020 (3 years after the epilogue). Hermione tracks down her parents in Australia and reverses the memory spell she cast on them. She works for the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures and pursues her dream to improve conditions for underprivileged magical creatures like the house-elves. She becomes Deputy Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and, eventually replacing Kingsley as Minister for Magic. Ron becomes an Auror but leaves after two years to work at Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes with his brother George. Hermione and Ron have two children: Rose and Hugo. Ron is also the godfather of Harry and Ginny's first son, James Sirius. Neville also becomes an Auror before changing his mind and becoming a Herbology teacher at Hogwarts and, eventually, Head of Gryffindor House. He also marries Hufflepuff Hannah Abbott. While the two don't have children, Neville is the godfather of Harry's second son, Albus Severus. Luna becomes a famous Magizoologist, discovering numerous magical creatures never before introduced to the Wizarding World. She marries Rolf Scamander, the grandson of Newt Scamander who is the protagonist of the Fantastic Beasts series. They have twin sons: Lorcan and Lysander. In my mind, Neville and Luna ended up together in the books too. The Malfoys are pardoned for their crimes because Lucius provides evidence against his fellow Death Eaters, and likely because of Narcissa's lie as well. Draco doesn't really have a job because he's so rich but he dedicates much of his time to the pursuit of alchemy. He marries Astoria Greengrass, the younger sister of a fellow Slytherin. She is not welcomed into the family because she doesn't share their racist pure-blood ideals, even after Draco stands up to his parents. The two have a son named Scorpius Hyperion. Unfortunately, Astoria dies young from a blood curse. Draco raises his son to be far more accepting than he was. At Hogwarts, Scorpius and Albus Severus, both in Slytherin, become great friends. McGonagall takes over as Headmistress and Hagrid stays in his position at Hogwarts. Finally, Umbridge is put on trial, found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment for her crimes. So unfortunately she doesn't die but she gets punished for her crimes.

Its well established that Voldemort is arrogant in the knowledge of his power and would see that as enough proof because surely this insignificant boy could not keep quiet when the all mighty dark lord tortured him. Clarification on Snape- Snape loved Lily as a child. Besides for being beautiful she was the first person who was good to him. They remained best friends till 5th year when Snape had many bad friends and aspired to be a death eater when he left Hogwarts. While being humiliated by James, Snape called Lily a Mudblood when she came to his defense. Later he apologized but Lily told him she can no longer ignore who he had become and who he wants to be. However Snape never stopped loving her and hating James. He hated Harry, who looked just like James, because Harry was the constant reminder that the women he loved married the man he hated. In the books, Snape overhears the prophecy about a boy will be born who has the power to vanquish Voldemort. When Voldemort interoperates the prophecy to mean Harry, Snape ask Voldemort to spare Lily so he can have her. However, Dumbledore, who knows Snape overheard it, convinces Snape to agree to be his spy in exchange for Dumbledore protecting not just Lily but the entire Potter family. Here Snape agrees, ONLY if Dumbledore agrees to never tell anybody that he is helping the good side. Snape worked as a "double agent" working for Dumbledore from that moment on. So Snape told Voldemort what night the Order was moving Harry from the Dursleys BUT using powerful magic, planted the idea in an order members head about using the potion to make 7 Harrys, hopefully ensuring Harrys safety through the attack. Snape would give enough information to make him Voldemort's most trusted advisor while withholding key information. In terms of the Elder Wand, no one knew that Dumbledore had it. Only Voldemort and Harry figure it out around the time of escaping Malfoys Manor. So Snape had no idea it was the elder wand or where Voldemort got it until Voldemort told him (when he was about to kill him). Snape did not know he was about to be killed and did not want to be because he still had the final information to give to Harry. That was not part of the plan.
@thomasnieswandt88053 ай бұрын
You said one interessting/disturbing plot point. Dumbledore knew, that Voldemort knew, that he had the Elder Wand. He also knew that Voldemort would try to get and that (at least to the Wizarding Worlds folklore) the Elder Wand is past over by the death of the owner... knowing all this, Dumbledore still plans his death with Snape....in case you havnt noticed, with this arangement, Dumbledore is sentening Snape to death.

The two Death Eaters they mentioned as being on staff were the two people behind Snape during the confrontation in the Great Hall. When McGonagle was sending bursts of fire as Snape, if you watch carefully, you can see that two of them, rather than blocking them, he kind of redirects them, hitting both of those Death Eaters before he fled out through the window. One more act of heroism.
@amadhatter32804 ай бұрын
Just to clear a few things up: 1) Dumbledore got the curse by putting the Grunt's Family Ring (the Ring Horcrux) on without having needing to, his biggest weakness was power so when he noticed the ring contained the Resurrection Stone even at his age he gave into weakness again (hence why he choose to be only a Headmaster instead of Minster for Magic because he didn't trust himself with that kind of power). 2) The Dumbledore brothers did have a falling out over Albus's lust for power & him going down a dark path with his friend Grindelwald (who's the main villain in the Fantastic Beasts series). Albus, Aberforth & Grindelwald got into a massive dual which ended up killing their little sister Ariana. Side note when Dumbledore drank from the Drink of Despair in the Half Blood Prince he was forced to relive that memory of the that dual where his sister died. 3) Voldemort died by having his own killing curse rebound onto himself, because harry was the Master of the Elder Wand the wand won't kill its actually master (hence why Dumbledore said Voldemort must be the one to kill Harry because he knew Voldemort would take the Elder Wand & while he meant for Snape to end up with it the plan was always to give it to Harry to protect him from Voldemort). 4) Snape was undercover because he was the one that gave half the prophecy to Voldemort which sent him after the Potters in the first place (and why he went to Dumbledore), he said he'd do "anything" to Dumbledore which was spy on Voldermort for him. 5) Snape & Lily relationship was breaking apart because Snape was super into the Dark Arts even against Lily's wishes he keep diving deeper & deeper into dark magic & their relationship ended when in a moment of anger Snape called Lily a "Mudblood" (after being bullied by James again). Because of Alan Rickman's great performance (and a little change for Movie purposes) people often confuse by Snape because he's motivation is different Book Snape only cared about revenge & Lily, Movie Snape was a Anti-Hero.

Snape loved Lily, but Lily did NOT love him, she only saw him as a friend. Snape started to hang out with pureblood supremacists in school to fit in. Lily still tried to be friends with Snape after that because she figured he was being led astray, but one day Snape called her a 'mudblood'; Lily was just like Hermione, she was born to muggle parents. Snape tried to apologize, but Lily saw that Snape was going down a dark path and she dropped the friendship. After they left Hogwarts, Snape basically joined the Nazi party of the wizarding world in order to get more powerful, fit in, and/or possibly win Lily back with his power. HE was the one who delivered the prophecy to Voldemort, which foretold of a child born at the end of July would be Voldemort's foe (Neville and Harry); Snape believed it to be Neville's family, but Voldemort believed it was Harry's. That's when Snape turned, asking Dumbledore for help. BUT in the books, at first he asked only that Lily be kept safe as he didn't care for Harry or James. And even after switching sides, Snape continued to mistreat Harry for the sins of his father. Sooooo yes, Snape wasn't completely "bad", but he wasn't completely all "good" either. And also yes, Harry tried to redeem Snape's image to the wizarding world after the war.

So a few things to know. The tale of the Deathly Hallows actually plays in front of you through the two movies. Voldemort killed for power. Snape died for love and harry greeted death like an old friend. As for Harry not dying there can be so many ways people go off it being he didn’t die because he had all the pieces of the Deathly Hallows. However if you go back to the first movie it does show that harry has a protection spell from his mother’s love casted before she died. And that’s why he could not die in that movie. However the spell was meant to ware off after he turns a certain age. But if you remember in the 4th movie. Voldemort took his blood and that’s why the spell actually still happened. So although yes he was a horcrux he did also survive from his mother’s love. Also for the headmasters hand he got the curse from the ring he had destroyed. It does say it in movie 6.

😮 Oh I didn't think about that about the Three Brothers! Antiochus was Dumbledore with the Elder Wand. Severus Snape was Cadmus with a betrothed who died too soon and he wanted her back. And Ignotus was obviously Harry, with the cloak. And so you'll know, Aberforth's patronus is a goat. Harry's was a stag of course, and Harry had cast his to chase away death eaters near Aberforth's bar, the Hog's Head. He hustled the heroes in and stalled the death eaters saying he cast his own and he said he set off rye caterwauling charm alarm. "I saw a stag." "A stag? It's a goat!" and he cast his goat patronus. Part of Snape's memories was showing him checking Dumbledore's blackened hand. The ring was a horcrux. In its setting was the resurrection stone. Dumbledore had forgotten it was a horcrux and tried it on. Voldemort had put an insidious curse on it. Albus wanted to bring his family back.

Oh, man.... seeing Fred lying on the floor in the Great Hall dead is heartbreaking, especially seeing Ron break down in tears. (Hearing that Harry had to sacrifice himself to give them a chance of defeating Voldemort and the Death Eaters didn't help that grief.) Also, I was at the midnight premiere of The Deathly Hallows Part 2 in 3D. The scene where Mrs. Weasley took out Bellatrix got a massive cheer from the audience. 7 points I've made or seen in the past regarding Harry Potter: 1. The prophecy Professor Dumbledore mentioned in Professor Snape's memory that mentioned a baby born at the end of July was partially true. There were actually two: Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom. They were born in the same month and year, but Neville is only 1 day older than Harry. (Neville: 30 July 1980, Harry: 31 July 1980.) Voldemort had chosen to target a then 15-month-old Harry, thus marking him as his equal. Neville lived a life free of that fear with his grandmother, despite the constant painful reminder of his parents being permanently admitted to St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries after being tortured into insanity by Bellatrix Lestrange. 2. In the scene where Professor McGonagall steps in to protect Harry from Professor Snape....if you notice, he never raises his wand to actually attack her. He actually deflects the spells hurled at him at the two Death Eaters behind him, the Carrows....the very same pair that Neville said were forcing the students to practice the Cruciatus Curse on first years. 3. Voldemort's death after his battle with Harry wasn't supposed to look like he got snapped out by Thanos, and it wasn't just them isolated in the courtyard. In the book, Harry and Voldemort battle for the last time in front of everyone else, resulting in Voldemort dying as a mortal man once Neville sliced off Nagini's head. 4. Harry didn't snap the Elder Wand in the book version. He mends his original wand (the one he got in Philosopher's Stone from Ollivander's) with it, then returns it to Professor Dumbledore's grave. 5. I give HUGE props to Narcissa for straight-up lying to Voldemort after Harry confirmed that Draco was alive. It shows that neither she nor her son wanted the Death Eater life. 6. That one goblin who stared in shock as the Ukrainian Ironbelly burst through the floor of Gringotts seriously looked a bit like Donald Trump. 7. Before the war, during an Order Of The Phoenix meeting at Grimmauld Place after their son Teddy was born, Harry was asked by Tonks and Remus to be the godfather.
@lyds63824 ай бұрын
Great points! The only thing is Neville killing Nagini didn’t save Ron and Hermione, it happened in the courtyard where they bring Harry back, thinking he’s dead. Many things happened at once and it’s SO good, so much more climactic! Tons of people streamed onto the grounds to join the fight (villagers and parents of students and such), the student body once again broke free of the Silencio curse Voldemort kept trying to use (his curses couldn’t hold them because Harry died for them and gave them blood protection like his mom did for him), Harry leapt out of Hagrid’s arms and covered himself with his invisibility cloak, and best of all…Neville had been put in the full body bind curse, the sorting hat forced on his head and set on fire. At that moment he also broke free of the curse, pulled the hat off, pulled out the sword and killed Nagini who was around Voldemort’s neck. The sword can be presented to any worthy Gryffindor in a moment of need.

To answer your question, "Why does Voldemort have to do it?": Voldemort was unable to Kill Harry because of Lily's protection spell (This was the same reason Harry became 'the boy who lived'). The ancient magic that dumbledore told Lily about has a specific condition to activate: Willingly sacrificing oneself to protect loved ones; Lily's sacrifice ensured that the person who kills her can no longer harm people she loved. Ironically, this actually makes Voldemort the only person in the world who can destroy the horcrux inside Harry WITHOUT killing the original Harry as well. Voldemorts killing curse would only affect the piece of himself inside Harry. Dumbledore figured out this was the only way to destroy the horcrux inside Harry without killing Harry along with it. Furthermore, as a result of Harry's *willing* sacrifice to protect his friends and family, Voldemort was no longer able to kill any more people on Harry's side because Harry activated the same protection magic his mother used when he was a babe.

The Gaunts are Voldemorts ancestors and they go into deep detail regarding this in the books. Dumbledore wanted to use the stone to bring his sister back but it backfired if i remember correctly. No, he finds the ring in early summer after year 5, he puts it on immediately when he recognizes the resurrection stone, he could not resist the temptation, he says so himself. Snape then says that he can keep Dumbledore alive for a year, and that's when Dumbledore puts his final plans into motion. @LA_HA sure it is touching to return the most powerful weapon to a corpse. Letting anyone who wants to desecrate corpses bring the wand back. Might be generations but someone could find it and start another conga line of murder and violence in the name of power.

Escaping on the dragon was actually Harry's idea in the book. In the book Voldemort has been separated from the parts of his soul in the horcruxes that he doesn't feel it when they're destroyed...unlike the movie which is all mixed up on that subject. 36:20 That's Fiendfyre. Very hard to control and extremely dangerous. It can destroy horcruxes but Hermione didn't even dare think about using it. Snape is a very grey character. He did something very brave but he was still not a good person by any means.

The Fiendfyre spell is the one Voldy uses in the fight with Dumbledore at the ministry in HBP. Voldy, being a much more skilled wizard than Goyle, knows how to keep in under control. Also, it was Crabbe in the book, rather than Goyle. But they're pretty much interchangeable. The actor that played Crabbe got into some legal trouble, so he wasn't available for the movie.

It’s not really a theory. Harry and Neville were the two options the prophecy could have been talking about (they both fit all the criteria). Harry is “the chosen one” because Voldemort chose him. Harry was a half blood, just like Voldemort, so Voldemort saw him as a bigger threat.

A GREAT scene from the books that doesn't make it in the movie; Harry is in the castle in the middle of the fight and sees a door bust open. Out of the door comes a herd of desks bewitched to gallop in a stampede-like fashion. Out with them flies McGonagall, her hair all messy, yelling "CHARGE!" and leading the desks to battle. Still makes me laugh when I picture that.

Another great book scene is Kreacher leading the castle's house-elves into the battle, screaming that he is doing it for his master, Harry. In the books, Harry pities and befriends Kreacher and he becomes completely devoted to Harry (nobody had ever treated him well before).

judging from the scene with Olivander regarding the wands and how they "think", it appears the reason they didn't want to hand over Bellatrix's wand is that the wand could reveal Hermione was not Bellatrix. especially if any of the goblins had studied wand lore and could "communicate" with them like Olivander

According to JK Rowling, the author of Harry Potter, Harry and Ron decided not to finish school and instead became Aurors (dark wizard catchers like Mad Eye Moody) at the Ministry of Magic. After several years, Ron retired from his job at the Ministry and went to work with George Weasley at the joke shop to help him out. Harry eventually became Head of Auror Office and Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Hermione did go back to Hogwarts after the Battle to finish school and graduated. At one point, she went to look for her parents and returned their memories. Later after she graduated she started working at the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures and the Department of Magical Law Enforcement at the Ministry of Magic and helped to create laws to protect and improve the lives of sentient magical creatures like house elves, goblins and centaurs to name a few. Much later, Hermione eventually became Minister of Magic. Neville Longbottom became the new Herbology professor at Hogwarts and married the Hufflepuff student Hannah Abbott, who is the grandchild of the owner of The Leaky Cauldron. Luna became a Magizoologist and married Newt Scamander's (the fictional author of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find) grandson, Rolf Scamander. Together, they travel the world looking for rare magical beasts. Professor McGonagall became the new Hogwarts headmistress. Before Ginny married Harry, she became a professional Quidditch player. After she retired, she started writing sports articles for the Daily Prophet wizarding newspaper. Harry and Ginny had three kids together. If I recall the names right, the eldest son was named James Sirius. The second born is Albus Severus. And the youngest child is Lily Luna. Harry is the godfather to Remus and Tonks' son, Teddy Lupin and made sure he was well provided for. Ron and Hermione's children are Rose and Hugo. Draco's child is Scorpius Malfoy. Lucius Malfoy again got away scot-free with his crimes as a Deatheater like he did after the first war when Harry was a baby, where he convinced the Ministry that he was forced to do what he did. Draco got a job at the Ministry and remained on respectful terms with Harry after the Battle of Hogwarts. Umbridge was sent to Azkaban for her crimes. Hagrid remained a professor at Hogwarts but never married. George Weasley married Angelina Johnson, who had been Fred Weasley's date for the Yule Ball in Goblet of Fire. Harry and Dudly remained on friendly terms and stayed in touch with each other to the point that they would even send each other Christmas cards every year. Harry, Ron and Hermione in time were each later featured on Chocolate Frog Cards. There are more stories like that that can be read in the Wizarding World website and also found in documentaries with JK Rowling where she goes into family tree details after the Battle of Hogwarts. 🏰🪄

The reason you see Hermoine dripping something onto Harry's hands when they get out of the lake is because in the books (but left out of the movie) there are two curses inside Bellatrix's vault. One is the Gemino curse which anything they touch will multiply but the multiples are worthless, and the second one is the Flagrante curse which burns anyone who touches the multiplied items. That's the thing with the Elder Wand, the legend that it had to pass to another by that person killing its previous owner was just a myth. The wand chooses the wizard, all that is needed is to gain the wands' allegiance by winning it in a competition or disarming the previous owner. Draco was the one who disarmed Dumbledore, and Draco, without knowing it gained the allegiance of the wand. Later Harry disarmed Draco at Malfoy manor, so the wand again changed its allegiance to Harry. Dumbledore's hand was damaged when he tried to put on the cursed ring.

There are quite a few things that are never explicitly stated by Rowling anywhere. One of them is actually the exact way that the Elder Wand works. The whole "it belongs to the wizard who defeated the last owner" is kind of actually just fan canon and isn't completely official. Another thing that doesn't really have an explicit definitive answer is how Harry came back. Two of the prevalent theories are that he was either the Master of Death by being the true owner of the Elder Wand, the owner of the Invisibility Cloak and the owner of the Resurrection Stone, or that he was still tethered to life through Voldemort because some of Harry's blood lived within Voldemort and that blood still contained Lily's protective spell.
@ezradanger4 ай бұрын
And the reason that Snape had to wait to tell Harry that he was a horcrux until the right time. Was that if the Master of Death theory is correct, Harry would have to face death? Truly believing that he was about to die. That would be the only way that he could truly Master death. If he went into the forest thinking that he would be able to come back then he would not have truly mastered death
@jenniferwilson26374 ай бұрын
Another theory is that Harry could never be killed by Voldemort because of his mother's sacrifice (mother's love). And when he cast the killing curse, it killed the only part of Harry it could: the part of Voldemort's soul within him.
@Eagle3302PL4 ай бұрын
Wand inheritance in general is inconsistent, but it appears that wands have some level of awareness and allegiance they themselves pick. Harry surviving is explained in the novel, due to Voldemort using Harry's blood to revive himself they are both protected by Lily's sacrifice, also Harry is the Elder Wand's master so it refuses to kill him. So when Voldemort casts the killing curse, curse which doesn't kill the body but kills by ripping the soul out of it, Voldemort kills his own soul fragment, while Harry's soul is untouchable to Voldemort's curses. Later on Harry and others are protected by protection magic from Harry sacrificing himself for everyone.

@@jenniferwilson2637 It's not a theory, it's what happens, I think it might even be stated in the book.
@ezradanger4 ай бұрын
@@Eagle3302PL I pretty much agree with all of that, but those still are just fan theories. It's never actually explicitly explained how the elder Wand chooses its master. Harry's explanation of how him disarming Draco of a separate wand may not actually have meant anything. It's really just Harry's theory. Also, it's never explained how the killing curse actually works. The idea that it separates the soul from the body is yet another thing that us fans have come up with as an explanation, but is never actually explicitly stated in any of Rowling's writings.

Also something I really hate that the movies didn't include was after Dumbledore says "Don't tell me now you've come to care for the boy?" they just go to him summoning his Patronus which was the same as Lily's again showing how much he loved her since his Patronus changed into hers which only happens if you truly love someone. In the books after Dumbledore says that line Snape yells' "FOR HIM!!??" then he summons his patronus. Sadly he did truly hate Harry since he represents how he lost the love of his life to one of his most hated enemies. He only protected him because of how much he loved Lily.

Remember the story of the Three Brothers? The Elder Wand -the MOST poerful wand EVER made. The Cloak of Invisibility & the Resurrection Stone (in the story-the Peverell brother "brought back" his lost love but she was too sad to "be" in the world,so she ultimately hung herself. So it seems that the Resurrection Sone brought back the spirit of a person, perhaps neither in life or death @ the same time. @ the end of the movie, the Stone raised the spirits of all those Harry most loved - Lilly, James, Sirius & Remus, all those whose strength he needed, to face Voldemort when going to his death.
