Watching influencers talk about their weddings haven’t been helpful to me, it just makes me feel like I’m not doing enough.

It helps if you have an idea of what you want your wedding to be, then, in planning, prioritise the intimacy of your big day. So essentially, ask yourself who you're making each decision for and what decision you would make if it was only for you. Also, Pinterest does less videos and more suggestions and blogs and has a lot of great budget ideas. You are doing enough and your wedding will be beautiful. May God bless your union!

You can't write off the wedding venue even if the venue itself is a non-profit because you are exchanging money for a service. It's not a donation.

If you are receiving a service and paying a reasonable rate for that service, it is not a tax deduction. However, if you wish to pay an additional sum to the non-profit, above the fee owed for service, you can always do that, and that portion will be a tax deduction. @@JamieWolfer

Agreed: no scented candles or scented anythings! But bring on all the natural beeswax candles... they smell faintly of honey and won't bother anyone with allergies. YAY!

Regarding the last point (the woman saying to lower your guest count when signing the contract and add to the final number later), this was my experience when talking to multiple caterers for my wedding in Peru. They locked you in for a number you felt confident about, and then you could always add on people until a week or two before the wedding.

You can’t write it off because you are receiving something too. (Ex. If you donate at a banquet charity fundraiser you can’t deduct the amount that’s attributable to how much you ate… Ie it get’s taken away from your charitable contribution amount). Also, even if you could deduct it, charitable contributions are part of the itemized deduction. Itemized deductions only benefit you on a federal level if you can get above the standard deduction amount (Married filing jointly is like 27,700 off the top of my head). Also! Charitable contributions deductibility is subject to limitations (typically up to 60% of your adjusted gross income). It might benefit (again if you could deduct) depending on your individual state on your state return. In essence, it’s not as simple as “oh you can write it off”

Most Tik tok tax advice is bull. Or just not nearly nuanced enough. This coming from someone who spends way more time than the average person attempting to legally avoid paying taxes. You're right on the money with that advice being sort of correct but, technically wrong. You'd probably get away with it unless you got audited.

Watch out for the airbnb idea. My friend tried, booked 2 lovely places, and had both cancel. And by then time was becoming an issue, so she went for a hotel with a great property because they wouldn't back out!

When we were looking at Venues for our wedding, there were some of them that wouldn't let you decrease the amount of guests you first said, but would let you up the numbers. You did need to give the final count about a month before though

Loving these Jamie videos! I'm getting married in 5 months and it would be great if there was a fee-based service that ordered these chronologically by time. "Got engaged-now what?" might be followed by budget setting, ending on what to do after wedding. I would definitely pay a reasonable fee; I'm just jumping around now.

Uplight and pen spots are both things that work directly against that black light based gloomy dungeness flavor. All the one notes that you do need to be really emphatic about how thoroughly the no? White rule is if you want it to come across as gloomy. And not psychedelic. You can mix black light with the red safety lights also

@@tygs8518 honestly that sounds amazing. I kinda want to get married with the minimum legal witnesses (eloping isn’t really accepted here) and then throw a party for everyone else without me and the groom there. Though my mother would murder me if I didn’t let my father walk me down the aisle.
@tygs851812 сағат бұрын
@@lesliellama7779 I say bite the bullet and figure out a party and a reason that won't make you the main focus for the whole night. Because whatever party/gathering you have after your wedding that's your first is going to be the wedding party. Maybe get married at a holiday and then have the party be wedding/holiday party. If it's Halloween time you could encourage costumes and do a costume contest. For xmas, maybe do a Secret Santa gift exchange after the minimum wedding stuff.

DJs the DJ thing omg soooooo true we’re getting married in March and I just fully booked the DJ my sister had 5 years ago because even to this day they were 100% the BEST wedding DJs I’ve ever experienced! Didn’t even entertain other options because been to enough weddings with what feels like all the SAME DJ was enough for me to say we’re using the company my sister used! Before her been like 12 weddings after her wedding been to at least 15 and her DJs were still far and above THE BEST DJ ever and they KILLED IT!!! They cost $4,000+ but omg are they worth it!!!!

I disagree on the uplighting on brick. It makes a marvellous effect simply because it enhances the natural stonework as such. No other fancy stuff needed on these walls. The stone, the uplights, all set and ready.

I really don’t care for “the signs” It’s just the bridal version of word art. Most of the info isn’t necessary for guests - we know how weddings work and could care less about who is reading Corinthians. Let me know where I sit and that’s it.

The scented candles seem like a great idea, but as a migraine sufferer, I literally could not sit through this :(. And that would make me incredibly sad if I had to leave the wedding of someone I love because I was becoming violently ill due to candles. Please, consider not doing this. Save it for your honeymoon to make it more special with your hubby 🥰🥰.

My venue’s reception area has an odd wood smell to it that I’ve been trying to brainstorm ways of getting rid of and I think I might just have to go with scented tea light candles 😅
