@@fearge836 Bruh, there were many high level players using the diagonal flip cancel in competitive before musty came out with that video. Especially 1s players, they been using that in their kickoff. musty even titled his video "i discovered a new kickoff that works against grandchamps" and called it "speed flip", so it sounds like he thinks he was the first one to use it which he wasn't. He definitely made it popular to the average rl player.

And I said that speed flipping wasn't really a thing what doesn't relate musty at all. It just says that most of RL players, especially even pros, didn't know of the use of that mechanic.

@@fearge836 first of all, “speed flip” is just a diagonal flip cancel. Flip canceling has been around for years. No one had a name for it, it was a thing people just did. However, this video came out in April of 2019. This video really brought the diagonal flip cancel into competitive use. Once people found out there was a faster flip they started using it in their gameplay, especially kickoffs. Mustys video came out in oct of 2019. And I remember seeing pros and 1s players using the diagonal flip cancel in their kickoffs before mustys video. I remember practicing this flip before mustys video. So no he did not discover it, he just made it mainstream. If anyone deserves credit it’s linkuru tbh.

I genuinely appreciate the fact that I found your channel... Ok, so I play on PS4 (Xbox diehards cringing) I was introduced to this game by a good, good friend of mine and I gave it an honest shot for a solid 3 days lol. Put it down and didn't touch it for months. Well, I picked it back up and learned in training with my buddy that I could do this. Just had to raise my sensitivity on both ends a bit. Now, I can absolutely hold my own against him and his brother in a 2v1. Since I play with them though, when I do go solo queue in doubles it's easy wins. I feel scummy, but then I get tm8s that ball chase too hard and even go as far as knocking the ball away from me. I'm just trying to either score or set up for them to take the shot... All in all though, I do love this game and the community. It's great. Even better, IT'S ALL COSMETICS!

I don't really have a great deal of respect for epic games, but if you think them "supporting" psyonix in development of rocket league is going to make it a dead game, you need to do a bit more research. Psyonix didn't just outright sell all rights to epic games, they are going to be working together on development and help keep the game alive. Epic games has the needed popularity to keep the game alive, while psyonix will still be developing the game itself.

well the psyonix developers will still most likely be working on it but now under a different management it’s unpredictable what can happen. Epic games is popular after fortnite and the other popular games they’ve released but everyone knows that they’re driving it right into the ground, and I think eventually it will turn into psyonix devs leaving. I understand where you’re coming from but i still think with the history we’ve clearly seen it won’t be a good outcome for rocket league but i’d love to be proven wrong this is my favorite game i can’t stand fortnite.

I'm right with ya there pal. I can't stand battle royale games in general but yes, far as we have been shown by epic games, they are in it for the big money. Psyonix has clearly always properly catered to it's fan base more than just try to be money grabbers. With epic games' influence on that aspect, it could be that lots of things in game become "pay to get" more so than they already are with the small DLC packages within the game so far. I feel as though as long as epic games keeps their paws off of the game mechanics and let's psyonix deal with that aspect and epic games just helps promote and sell, things should be ok. But if epic games starts messing with game mechanics and hitboxes and things of that nature, it could very well push all of us dedicated long time players away. I am hopeful yet, that psyonix will stay true to their dream and aspirations of what rocket league is. But who knows, epic games could easily just out right buy them out and own the game completely. Let's hope thst doesn't happen. Cause we see with epic games' previous games they actually developed, they went straight for that gambling addiction aspect harder than EA. *fingers crossed* rocket league is basically the only game I enjoy playing at all anymore. Gunna be real upsetting if epic games takes on full control of development.

People like "yOu GoTtA fLiP tWiCe" despite the fact we've know for how long that boosting is the fastest speed? It's all about initial acceleration. Do a flip that allows you to boost towards the direction you wanna go all the way throughout (I'm on controller, so perhaps that makes it easier), land well (powerslide optional), then boost. You don't even have to cancel the flip. I just diagonal flip a certain way
