11:36. Honestly the move from finding new mechanics to finding new strategies is the next step in RL. I can't say all mechanics have been found, but there are definitely way more new ways to play the game people have not tried or thought of. The new meta of RL is this video, as sarcastic as it might be. You even somewhat see this in comp RL already, like with Metsa and Mognus's old duo attack/defense method with alot as a cherrypick or especially with the varying play-styles in 1v1. I could see a lot of actual new, effective methods of play coming to fruition in the coming seasons of RL.

Finally someone with a large RL audience has spoken about finding ways to counter Rotation strat in RL. All that RLCS casters are saying recently is either: "both teams are playing solid rotations and only one minor mistake will lead to a goal against them" or "OH MY GARRETT! WHAT A PLAY!" and then we're back to solid rotations. Think of ANY sport, every team has various tactics and strategies. Theres only so much players can achieve with their skill. Imagine having 4 solid strats in RL for example, and you could call out a strat in quick chat.

It's just that "roles" are not assigned really to anybody because everyone is rotating constantly. So if C9 would face against a team that is playing far back, a Torment for jstn swap would be huge. C9 would be on the attack the entire time basically. 3 of the best ballchasers in RL, Gimmick, Squishy and jstn.

i have a good idea to further improve this strat. so first you go to full attack mode and after you get a two goal lead then you go to full defense mode to stall out the timer and if its tied then go back to offense and try to get a lead again and the cycle repeats

I kinda want to take credit for originating this cuz it's really familiar to my playstyle an rotation. My best goals are when I'm 3rd man back in goal, catch an attempted goal from the opponents and run it up field myself. Teammates hate me, but the ones who adapt get to win alongside me.

Basically for people who matchmake with randoms a lot, this is the standard play: letting the ballchaser go ballchase then swapping places with him when he runs out of boost/gets bumped across the map/tires himself out. It's organic rotation and most of us just live with it and adapt to it ( or uninstall the game.)

If the enemy team finds out about your strat or tells you’re using it they could have a number of ways to combat it. Like: Demoing, Passing plays, Not demoing but just constantly bumping the player(s), use the same strat against you, etc. But great video! Really enjoyed it.

What I find works well is an alternating tactic. I like to go defense but I can score a surprisingly good amount of goals for my skill level just by going all out after clearing the ball far from the goal. Assuming another teammate actually takes defense then the enemy is typically too focused on defense because the ball is near their goal that it means the other one or two defending only really needs to focus on a straight line shot from enemy as they usually try to just clear it far from their goal instead of playing it tactfully with short and constant passes. It also avoids targeting as the enemy just won't have a clear idea on who to target because the players keep switching roles. That being said I do tend to miss a lot of hits because my aiming sucks and i press the wrong buttons. But it works against those that aren't hardcore players quite well. Should help newer players out if anything.

My buddy and I do a somewhat similar strat for 2v2's. We call it the turtle strat. Basically one sits in goal, the other one runs interference. When the goalie has to jump out of net to save, the rolls are switched. When the enemy team double commits or they slip up in their positioning, one starts striking. Easy wins

Instead of timing the surprise attack to in game time do it like a push in overwatch. Regroup and everyone get boost (and call it out) then when everyone is full boosted, you do a quick 3 man blitzkrieg. Then back off and play 3 in net again. Then regroup and let them get complacent before doing it again. It'll keep them even more on their toes so the surprise attacks can be even more effective the next time.

me and my friends did a flipped version of this. we call it turtle mode. play normal until you are leading then play super defensive. we noticed that we have easier wins when we go up by 2 goals and just chill in net. to be fair i’m high plat so it’s different but people don’t know how to deal with multiple goalies

This strategy reminds me of the dump and chase in hockey. My minor league team would dump every time we crossed half consistently and have one or two chase to condition their defense into expecting the dump, then we would rush into their zone a lot in the 3rd period for an onslaught of goals
