I went to the chiropractor the other day, he said I had the loudest cracks of the week. My spine, neck, and pelvis was just a mess. It was all self inflicted, sitting on the floor painting my baseboards. That adjustment worked wonders!! I go back in 2 weeks for an additional adjustment. But my back is pain free right now, but it is sore from how long it’s just been so tense.

Forcing bone movements without treating the soft-tissue tension that draws bone into position has only created greater instability and dysfunction in my experience. Not to mention the long term damage added to herniated discs when “go for the crack” is valued more than awareness of the underlying dysfunction. Look up Fascial Counterstrain instead. It’s a treatment that actually attends the underlying Fascial restrictions that cause the dysfunction, which in turn leads to unease/pain-part of inflammation-and eventually disease.

I've been complaining of back pain to every doctor I've been to in the last 10 years. It has gotten to the point where I get numbness in my right hand so bad I have trouble holding small things. Every doctor has literally laughed at me and said "I'm sure it's not that bad" then refused to do anything. So I'm at a chiropractor almost weekly to keep me functioning. I know the doctors could probably fix the underlying problem if they cared to, but they don't care.

@@marymcnamara447sometimes the nerve running through our arms can get out of place (the funny bone) and needs to be repositioned. It sounds like you need an MRI. Orthopedist is where I started and then was sent to their pain specialist. I hate when doctors are dismissive. I advocate imagining before treatment bc the last time I went to one, he did not and felt what ended up being my still degenerated disc. I think it was a catalyst of getting my spinal fluid out of my flat disc. I wish you the best and hope you find better relief.

When you breathe out it gives more room for the spinal adjustment to happen… The lungs are powerful it’s like pressing on a ball that’s tightly inflated compared to a ball that’s only half inflated… Is that a good analogy? Yes you have to learn to relax fully… In the more adjustments that you have you will realize how tension comes into play squeezing off the nerve signals.

@@eldanno5970 A chiropractor saved my mother's life. He told her something was off in her chest, and to go to a conventional doctor and get a CAT scan. The CAT scan revealed an aortic aneurysm about to burst. She underwent surgery and recovered. It didn't negate my appreciation of his diagnostic skill, but it sure compromised it.

@@jamesmcinnis208 she got lucky nothing more. I was strung along for a year by our local and very trusted chiro until I thought I’d have to quit work because of the pain I was in each day, according to the chiro I had a spine deformation I’d need treatment for indefinitely. Eventually spoke to my GP to see what I could do, told me to see a physio physio, the physio called bs on the chiro and fixed me in two visits. The chiro was so far off the actual problem it wasn’t funny, so effectively was “treating” me for a year every week for something that wasn’t even there. Uncle spent most of his life visiting a chiro due to a back injury at work until one day he woke up paralysed. Doctors found out he had a fragment of bone floating around from that old injury that the chiro was just pushing around causing damage. Chiros are nothing but modern day snake oil salesman.

I remember the first time I went to a chiropractor. I honestly thought that I would never be able to get up from the adjustment table. However when I got up, I didn't feel an ounce of tension in my whole body. That was 1980. I still go a few times a month. Try it people. don't listen to negative of other people.👍 🙂

I've had really good chiros who were healers one, bad chiro who hurt me enough that I drove out of my way to a good chiro so they could undo the damage from the bad chiro, and I've had useless chiros who were clearly just in it for the insurance reimbursement. It really depends on the chiro. You have to vet them. The really good ones know not to crack anything unless it's necessary, they know to relax the muscles before an adjustment, and they give you exercises to help fix and prevent the problem from returning. They're not all quacks, but they're not all good, either.

As an ER nurse I've seen at least 4 vertebral artery dissections over the years, one of which died. I would *never* let a chiropractor touch mine, or anyone I know's neck. Lumbar, sure. Neck? No way.

Lumbar you can do yourself on the side of a couch lol. People should try foam rolling before they go to a chiro. But to be fair they should go a physio instead of chiro to actually fix their problems. I'm just ranting here, chiros shouldn't exist.

@@vvoof2601 Okay, then, explain this fact: When I was in my 40's, I had back pain that was so horrible that I couldn't fall a sleep. One day, I decided to listen to a friend chiropractor, and to allow her to adjust my back. She told me that my axial bones were misaligned. She used an unorthodox method. Took a solid device, and, on the left side of my back, she literally did smash my bones all the way down to the floor. It sounded like she was breaking my back, but when she was finished, I got up, immediately went to bed. When I got up, the pain was completely gone. I am 64 years old, and I STILL do not have back problems. Realignment WORKS! But, cracking just for the sound of it only gives a temporary relief. That is what she told me.
