Hard to tell. Many UFC fighters have judo backround but still it’s totally different sport. If someone knows how to grapple without gi and learns how to combine muay thai and wrestling techniques with judo, he/she would definitely be hard to win in MMA

It seems you don't make the difference between someone exposing is leisure and a professionnal who is supposed to have an influence in his domain. That's precisely why you will not understand my comment neither ono's comment about olympic games... It's my right to have a preference, maybe you're not familiar with free observer and authentic judo lover... I'm not Georgian and I have no personal interest in Lasha winning like you do: i don't care about that. I take no pride in it and my judgment is not clouded by any nationalism... to give you an example I prefer the Grigalashvili style much more because he practices real judo and not wrestling or counterattacks... Nagase practices judo, murao practices judo, abe practices judo, sasaki practices judo, sobirov practiced judo, hiraoka practiced judo, inoue, egusa, lee won hee, akimoto... and I bet all your admiration for your champion won't change the fact that there will be more people watching the videos over and over again of Maruyama or ebinuma as your champion because of this. And Maruyama or ebinuma were not and will never be Olympic champion... that's not the question!!!! Riner is 3 times Olympic champion, 11 times world champion but he cannot compete in terms of notoriety, with ono for example... simple as that... demonstration made...

It is really a question about judo style... it's up to ijf to answer this question. Lasha did perfectly well with the current rules as well as krpalec did well the first time he was european champion with grabbing legs...
