I really love this choreo. It might seem a little intense, but I think it really portrays the desperate surrender we feel when we truly give our lives to Him. It’s beautiful

It was an Expression of how we truly feel inside everyone is uncomfortable because we live in a society were we must act a certain way. As a Christian this represent how I feel at my lowest I have to jump scream yell hang in and be all over the cross it's the only way to get through the storm

I agree! Alot of people are focusing on how they "climbed on" the cross, whereas I feel it symbolized how we need to cling to the cross, to Jesus. When it hurts so bad and we realize there's nothing we can do about it ourselves except rely on Jesus

In life we all experience tragedy, heartbreak, pain, torment, sorrow... the list could go on and on. This song ministered to me in a time where I felt hopelessness even while I knew better. I knew hope. I enjoyed the choreography which expressed those times of complete brokenness. Moments of crying, wailing, gloom, moaning. Real pain that cannot be escaped. But its God who reaches into that pit and pulls us out. He dust us off and carries us to a light we could not find. Very beautiful depiction of a cry for help & trusting in Him even when it hurts. Thank you Lord that it's not anything we can do but it's everything you did on the cross for our redemption. The only thing that lacked with these girls were bottoms to cover up. The human skin distracts & is a stumbling block.

This is a great demonstration of when one dedicates their talents to bring glory to God. This choreography, along with the lyrics tell the story of all us believers in Christ. For those saying that what these girls are wearing are inappropriate are wrong, in the time of Adam and Eve, where our creation began, there was no need to cover up because God Himself created us in His image. Praise and Worship depends on the heart of someone not what others dictate, for God sees the heart and not the exterior.
@deidratorres3233

Evelyn Ruvalcaba, tht is true but if tht were the case then it wouldn’t be inappropriate for us to walk around naked cause thts how Adam and Eve were in the beginning but these are different times and Adam and Eve were alone and pure in the Eden untill they sinned. God’s says in 1Cor. 10:31 that we must do ALL things (drink, eat, DRESS) ALL things to glorify Him cause we represent God and HIS kingdom. We must be the light in the darkness and not mix with the darkness.
@MarshaWalker20
@MarshaWalker20 6 жыл бұрын
Yes God looks at the heart. That doesn't mean we should dress inappropriately. Especially when we are doing anything for Him. In the very story of adam and eve, God gave them something to wear after they sinned and realised they were naked. So don't just pick out a part of it. You have to read it in it's entirety.

Beautiful. This dance reminds me of the woman with the issue of blood. She had to press through the crowd holding on to her belief that just one touch of his garment will bring healing to her entire body. To me these women represent people pushing through all their struggles and trials just to find their way to/ back to the cross where they know the can find peace, hope, love, victory etc. And this expresses the words of the song perfectly- that no matter what happens, even when it hurts, we'll praise Him. Dance is an art form and the ability to express all this emotion through this dance shows that these women have excelled in this art form. Yes there were some inappropriate moves but we should not use this to slander the whole dance and take away from their ministry.. instead we should just mention it to bring it attention and help them improve. There's no need to say it's "demonic" or stuff like that. There's just a difference in understanding the art form and the message displayed

People..Jesus didn't come on this earth for the perfect. He came for the broken, lost, hopeless, wicked, sinful, you name it. This song..it represents that brokenness and in the midst of it, praising God still. and the rawness of the dance and even the natural colour of the costumes and how simply loose it was, it held an ambiance of hopelessness and chaos and these girls portray all of that at the hands of the cross. It's like a plea almost. A cry for help. Like the situation is driving them insane and the cross is their only escape. Perspective. Many Christians fail to understand how multi-viewing God truly is.

I was very blessed and touched by this choreography. Clearly some people in the comments have never seen contemporary dance or know what it looks like. Many of you are only used to one type of worship and won't stand for the Holy Spirit moving in different ways and it shows. This was Christ centered and from the heart. How dare anyone try to make it out to be what it's not. Thank you to the person who choreographed this! God knows your heart of worship.

LISTEN. This outward of expression and worship is amazing. Please do not listen to the words of others in this comment section. I see this as a beautiful form of worship expressing our own inner battle. Forcing ourselves to be able to focus on the love and sacrifice of Jesus throughout the midst of our own pain and suffering. This is NOT demonic. This is powerful.

People only look at the surface because they are programmed to see something in a certain way, this is truly a masterpiece in that it holds nothing back to show how our state of despair can be so ugly, and when we are brought to a point where we choose to praise Him no matter what, Its not about the tights, the hair, we are broken people before we get to the point of total surrender

Dear to Tara Olson and the dancers of this piece, I know that what I’m going to say is late... I’m sorry for not saying this earlier when I had the chance. Though, it is at least better than not saying anything at all. I just wanted to let you young women know... that you just reached out to my heart in ways that I can’t describe... No dance has ever took Christian dances up to this level. It is risky, but a miracle. I have fallen in love with every single beat and phrase. I’ve been training as a dancer myself, and this... is more than beautiful. I just wanted to thank you all for delivering a very raw and powerful message. Plus, God doesn’t see our reveling skins as a sin. He created us and isn’t ashamed of it, and he knows our hearts and our true intentions of what we do. When you girls touched the cross like that... I’ve felt it from the bottom of my spine. Because it’s so relatable how I grab on to him whenever I need him. Whenever I feel lonely or thanking him for what he has done for me. What I really mean to all of you girls is... thank you... for taking it to the next level. I just wish that one day I could meet and thank you all. For waking up a part of me again.

Tara Olson 💓💓 you truly made God proud, I can even feel that he is in the bottom of my heart. You and your dancers, I saw in your video how you bring their true potential out and created something that you can truly feel just like looking at a piece of art on a wall. Don’t let others tell you that this is wrong, just as long as you feel that God hasn’t said that you did. Then that’s all that it matters💒

@jubileakucerova6611
@jubileakucerova6611 4 жыл бұрын
@@kevlarson5883 I understand your need to keep Christ´s name “clean“ but let me make a few points against your argument- whenever I´m at the darkest bottom of my soul and my sins, the Cross is the only thing that holds me up. Yes, he died there and he died for ALL our sins and for ALL of us, and that´s why I will never stop wondering how inexplainably great His Love is, that he accepts us even when we are the dirtiest, the smallest, doubting and full of desperation and hopelessness. He did not want to dine with the pharisees but Zacheus. As he invites ALL of us to find comfort in Him, sinful, crying, humbled or even blaming for we can´t see or hear Him at the moment. These very talented girls performed honest and raw art expression of our fighting and struggling in the relationsip with God. Since we ALL are sinners and have doubts, this fight usually isn´t light, cheerful and lovely as someone mentioned here above. It can be cruel, disgusting, raw, it can offend. But that is what the reality sometimes is and we are weak. HOWEVER Lord Jesus Christ comes to us anyway, or rather - that is why he comes at ALL. He does not judge our sins, he only give us his Love and Power to fight them the best we can. The Cross is where all the sins were cruciefied in Christ for us and therfore we can come to the Cross even at the darkest time, thank God. And that is what I see as the greatest Love. We all carry our life cross and we decide if we carry it alone or with Christ. So whatever you do, use the cross for it is our only Hope. He will not judge, He came to have mercy on us. We don´t have to be clean to come to Him - it´s Him who makes us clean. Who comforts and accepts us even at our darkest time as is shown in this beautiful and honest piece of ART. We take our crosses, and we use them to “climb“ to the arms of our loving God. God bless you.

I personally liked this video. I can see where the negative commentators are coming from, but personally I interpreted the dance, as life, being a struggle, and through Jesus' s sacrifice on the cross we find strength and redemption. The message I took away is that we need God in our lives. When we believe and find Jesus, Satan will continue tempt us and try to pull us away from our faith and from God, and we work to find our way back time after time. It is through the cross that we can learn the depths of God's love for us, at our lowest God will pick us up, and I felt that from this video. But I guess that is one of the beautiful things about art and dance, it is open to interpretation, and there is no right or wrong, in a person's feeling.

I understood the choreography as a first act of being near, then a withdrawal, then a lackluster - and still mundane - rapprochement, then a new and heavier departure, and in the end, a deep and intimate rapprochement. Eu entendi a coreografia como um primeiro ato de estar próximo, depois um afastamento, depois uma reaproximação sem profundidade - e ainda mundana -, depois um novo e mais pesado afastamento e, no final, uma profunda e íntima reaproximação.

I love the meaning behind the choreograph of how it’s like the are struggling and they are fighting it and them in the end they are hugging god giving their life and realizing his love Another meaning idea I have is that they are representing sin and how it so close to Jesus but your not free from the sin and when then sin is taken away it’s finally on the cross as we are now set free from it

Wow I know this is a different style but who is to judge how you worship the Lord? I thought it was so clever and real. I love the realness and ability.For the people who say it is scary, being a Christian is not easy and they are worshipping with everything they have. Even when it hurts. It’s not always beautiful it can be ugly and devastating but so meaningful.

If you felt weird about this, try to look at yourself, sinner yet so desperate to have one touch and one encounter again with Jesus. Don't just look at the choreography and judge but look at the meaning beyond what they do and inside of each and single step they do. It is connected to what is the song all about.

To those who doesn't even know this dance meaning well this dance shows the people who were hurt, suffering, depressed, the people who lost their way in the path of life but still praises God like in the line "Even when it hurts I'll praise you" because when you were suffering you don't know what you to do because your so hurt and there dance steps explain that feeling I know this because I was suffering through depression for more than 7 years now, I committed self harm and I doesn't know what to do with my life anymore, I feel like I'm losing my mind but I know that I can't commit suicide to end the pain because it will only pass the pain to someone else and I doesn't want them to experience that pain because I experienced it and it hurts so much and I can't explain it to other people because I know that they can't understand the pain, one time I explain it to them they doesn't even understand me, all they do is to comfort me but I don't know those words that they say it just add to the pain I'm suffering and the only thing left for me is to believe in Him and live even though it hurts already because I know that He has better plans for me in the future

I also think that the dancing to the cross means that those people who were suffering but was still holding on to their life doesn't want Jesus' sacrifice to save the people on their sins go to waste even though it hurts already

OKAY so I don't actually think anybody will read this BUT on the small chance that anyone does, I know it's long but just hear me out: I see lots of people in the comments mentioning how uncomfortable they were and how lost they felt watching this Chorie. I can understand what you all mean however I personally saw something completely different from that which was mentioned. I felt God with me in this deeply. In this imagery, I saw complete abandonment of self (flesh) for God. Complete surrender. Their movements appeared to portray the struggle that life can bring. Them moving from the light, where the cross was, back into the dark, and showing them struggle to reach back to that cross, looked to me like spiritual warfare and their personal combat with the enemy trying to tear them back away from their Heavenly Father. Them climbing on that cross showed desperation and need to stay close to God cause if they wander too far from it they could get ripped right back into the dark. God giving them help and protection. To simply say it, to me, it looked like the battle and walk of Christianity and how hard this path can get but in the middle of it all still KNOWING and TRUSTING that God is with you and protect you while getting you back out. And as for the costumes, I liked the idea behind them. I think the idea was for them to look like rags. It was meant to be simple.. nothing super nice or flashy. Some say they looked naked which also could have been intended also, displaying yourself completely and humbly before God. I totally plan on being a Choreographer for a church someday, God willing. And I see lots of Good with this work. They are praising God with their bodies in dance. It's a form of worship and it's beautiful. It's not meant to be or trying to be anything else but the truth. I'm not AT ALL saying this IS in fact what was intended just what I see. Sharing what my opinion on this piece is.

I love this video... Job 1:20-22 Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship. He said, “I came naked from my mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away. Praise the name of the Lord!” In all of this, Job didn't sin by blaming God. ...This is the exact verse that crossed my mind directly when i watched this video. I wont discriminate, i wont condemn, i wont argue. I will fully respect everyone's thoughts about this video but please allow me to personally share my thoughts 🙂. I am blessed to as how i saw this video. I dont see the naked body, i dont see the steps, i dont see the akwardness. What i see is 'Pain', 'Desperation', and 'Hunger'.. 'Pain' ... From all the battles and enduring their personal weaknesses. 'Desperation' ... To bring praise and worship despite of the impurities 'Hunger' ... Of the presence of God ... One of my goal is to Worship the way Job did.. That's what i think 🙂 ...

Wow what a beautiful dance! and yes I have seen the negative comments and what a shame. The dance interprets the singer so beautifully. what an accurate display of our rugged souls which only wishes to praise despite the pain and sorrow. thank you New Harbor Dance Team please keep dancing....
