This makes your parents seem hard but having watched most of your videos they are also your biggest supporters. I think some people forget that they are pushing you to focus on what's in front and not what has gone. It is disappointing when things go wrong but I find your partnership with your horses amazing, they are 3 different characters and you switch easily between them and have had some great placings this year. I am looking forward to next season and seeing how you get on.

You are a sublime person and rider you are simply like all great riders very hard on your self, take some pressure off and have fun at smaller events, I remember reading a book i think it was called centered riding speaking about not being too over focused on the job .. to remain aware of your environment as well as the tunnel vision keeping a balance between both that softness again .. keep thinking and looking ahead and the flow of the whole picture, course.. BravO all the family Maximus is gorgeous xx

I am so, so impressed by how quickly Max was back with you after that scary (for a horse) rail down. You give your horses such confidence it's amazing. And as for the concentrating - it must be bloody hard to find a balance between being competetive at a high level as a career (clearly got the talent) and this youtube thingie where - yes, Dad - getting footage is kind of important. But I'm sure you'll figure it out. :) Have a lovely christmas!

What breed is Zeb? He's in amazing shape for being 18yrs old. My grand prix show jumper had to stop competing at 16. He still had the heart for it, but all that jumping had really taken a toll on him physically. By the time he was 18, huge deep chunks of his hooves were literally falling off & the vet had to fill in the holes with this silicone epoxy stuff. He still loved to jump & had a habit of jumping the paddock & pasture fences. And I still jumped him occasionally over jumps up to 1 meter high. He was like zeb in that he loved to jump but didnt care much for dressage, though he knew how to perform all the tests very well when schooling at home, he would get overly excited at the show or event...let's just say my horse wasnt meant for dressage. You're a very courageous rider. Those 4* xc jumps are scary & huge with a much higher potential for severe injury to you and your horse than there is on regular show jumps. Personally I hate the tall jumps you cant see through or see over. Good luck with your riding career. I will continue to actively follow you & reccomend your channel to my friends

I think your dad comes off as harsh whenever he is the most gutted for you. The “what if’s” can drive a parent to come across as too critical. I’m not giving him a pass, but a lot of times, parents have to learn to bite their tongues rather than express their disappointment on behalf of their child right in the moment. Harry, remember to pack your chill pills-they really do help. Speaking from experience here! Love your channel and the ups and downs that you all share. It takes the entire family to get Ashley to an event, and you all do it more brilliantly than most people ever could.

Dude, you rode that really well and got top ten - nowt to be ashamed of there. If anything, I'd suggest a bit of mindfulness, or some other kind of mind-focusing technique, to practice just before entering the dressage and show jumping arena - because your riding is excellent and I think most of it is nerves and adrenaline rush that the horse is probs picking up on. It's probably not easy, trying to be a youtuber and compete simultaneously - don't beat yourself up, it's okay to analyse the errors, but negative self (or parental) speak ain't gonna help. You're a darned good rider or you wouldn't be where you are today. You both read that showjump fence wrong and cos you were miles away you couldn't help him, so lesson learned, leave youtube outside the ring to others, you'll just have to cobble together the footage after ;)
