Today we'll explore the Cantillon Effect and its profound impact on the trucking industry. Discover how money printing affects truckers, owner operators, and carriers, and why not everyone feels the benefits of new money at the same time. We'll explain how banks and the government receive this money first, spending it before prices rise, essentially giving them a discount before inflation kicks in.
For small carriers and owner operators, the Cantillon Effect can mean tighter profit margins and increased operational costs. With fuel, maintenance, and truck parts becoming more expensive, small businesses face the challenge of raising rates slowly due to limited bargaining power. Meanwhile, larger companies with more resources and cash reserves can absorb these rising costs more effectively.
Understanding the Cantillon Effect is crucial for anyone in the trucking industry. Learn how to navigate these economic challenges and protect your business in times of new money creation.

So let me get this straight now not only do we have brokers Taking a cut of water truck driver to make now we got a dispatch service that wants to take a cut of it I'm top of the broker. And that you have your own load when I'm going to a broker you're about uselessJust my opinion but I've been in the business for 37 years, 7 So please tell me that you You have freight that you dispatch Without using a broker. . Otherwise if you're just getting your loads from a broker not only are you making the truck Earn Fewer dollars For his work. From my day you had a dispatcher that worked for the truck in county and then you had brokers but if you're doing the same thing as a dispatch do that work for the trucking company and then you're charging on top of the brokers actually to jacked up situation

Sounds like you are pretty successful in booking your own loads with no down time in between. More power to you. The way I see it, this service is an excellent way to keep you moving without having to spend a lot of time looking for loads whilst you are driving or sitting at a truck stop. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but you don't need to go around bashing a service cause it doesn't work for you.

This service gets a better rate and is a real negotiator. Especially new owner operators have no idea how to get top dollar. In the grand scheme of things if you’re making more money with a dispatch service then why not use it. Just focus on every other aspect of the business

@@bdas1-9 it isn't because the service don't work for me it's because I've seen so many different individuals come in and take a piece of the pie until there's no more fight left for the people doing the actual work think about it what if somebody comes in and said well need somebody to cut into their profit and the only part that really gets me is the biggest part of you don't know crap about Trucking do you know how many times I've had brokers disturb my wanting to know if I was going to make pick up or delivery in time and the more they call me worried about the load the more likely they're going to give me the wrong pick up number . So busy worried about my job they can't even do theirs. I've been doing this business long enough that if there's a problem I'll let him know yeah they are so worried they don't stop to think of a load picked up at 6:00 p.m. that driver is probably going to be driving all night and there's no need to call him at 7:30 in the morning to more than likely A dispatch service ain't no better and you're getting loads from the brokers can I have the Brokers taken out 30% you're probably taking out 30% and companies are going bankrupt left and right and drivers don't get paid but they're deserved. Map of man spins 10 15 years out here doing this job more power to him because he knows what goes on out butt you guys that's never been out here and gotten the knowledge earned their knowledge States in an office and ripping off the drivers in trucking companies that's doing the actual work if y'all would get out of business we can actually make money like we used to that's what pisses me off we didn't need dispatch services before we had computers and smartphones I don't know who's that idea thinks we need it now it's much easier now to get a load but hey good luck to you to do what he can do with a smartphone and a headset deserves to be broke

I actually tried to give you the benefit of the doubt I ran across your video and start listening to it and 3 minutes later I turned it off because all you was doing was reading something off of the internet that somebody else had put the work in to create I asked you tell me you got your own loads where you went to the shippers and create a contracts and I would have respected you instead you're sitting back living off of the broker's work and the driver's work and the companies work the hard part is getting them contracts put in the work and you deserve to be in this industry but sitting back getting all your work from somebody that's already done the legwork anybody can do that it don't even take an education that's what burns me up you didn't earn your right to be a dispatcher because the only good dispatchers used to be drivers so come out here and do this job experience it from this side too then you will be a good dispatcher

Hi @jamesmontgomery1161 thanks for stopping by, I appreciate your initial comment and wanted to respond to it, which I did in today's live kzbin.infoARJaX81JfVc?si=Oas2oPnJD3Hv96Nq&t=1412 if you open that link it'll go straight to that part. With that said sir, your comments come off quite bitter and I'm sorry to hear it. While I haven't been in the industry for 37 years but only 12, I did learn a lot. For many of our customers, we're an absolutely essential part of their business. We've saved our share of small trucking companies from going out of business and so it bothers me when someone comes out and says such ignorant things. You're conflating a broker and a dispatcher. If we offered our own loads, we'd be another broker and brokers aren't typically known to be looking out for the trucker. Instead as a dispatch service, we're looking out for the trucker. Most truckers are going to get their freight from a spot market load board anyway. The difference is that my guys are and experienced, they know how to negotiate, they know how to look ahead and plan, and the best part is they're better in all these areas than most truckers out there. We've helped new carriers, we've helped PO carriers, we've even helped HotShot carriers in the past. You can do a lot when you focus on helping people for over a decade. I've owned my own trucks, I've hired drivers, we lease on drivers, we've done lease purchases, and I've been involved in the procurement of local and regional contract work. Now, giving me the "benefit of the doubt" by watching a random portion of a long-form live video is just unfair. This is why I invite you to watch that portion of the video. Better yet, watch our regular releases, not the lives. We show our best drivers every Friday at 4:30PM CST and we've been doing that for 4 years every week. The point of the live shows is to slow it down and look at what's going on out there rather than be restricted by time constraints in our regular videos. We're not living off of broker's work and driver's work. It's the broker's job to get that load moving at the lowest price and it's the trucker that ends up getting taken advantage of. We're here to make sure that doesn't happen, try to soften the blow, and we certainly earn our keep. I hope this helps clarify things for you in terms of what we do for truckers and I hope you have a better day.

@AFTDispatch okay I'll just been having a rough day and I have some very strong beliefs about this industry or any other for that matter. I'm sorry if I came off a little harsh I can do that with I'm passionate about something. I want to try and say it a little gentler. Have you ever heard of a KZbinr called mother trucker? He sits back and creates news articles from information he's been made aware of or found himself. But but here's the kicker, he drove a truck, he knows what goes on out here on the side of the business, and I respect him and his work even as a KZbinr. He paid his dues he learned this side of the business. I just want to ask you a question what experience have you had in the trucking industry besides a dispatch service. Have you had any. If you have great more power to you because there's parts of this business you can't learn from a book or classroom or watching videos. Well it might make me an asshole but several other truckers agree also. Anybody having to do anything with this business should spend at least 2 weeks in a truck with a driver. Some truck drivers believe it should be more I don't see that as being efficient. To give you an idea I used to work for a man that had been in the container ship business. And he decided he's going to start a trucking company. He had no idea how about certain things that you need to do to run a trucking company. . I told him to drive a truck. Actor his first two weeks he was totally changed in his attitude. He had an understanding from hands-on experience. He didn't quite listen to me how about things he needed to do his doors closed in 2 years like I told him was going to happen. Butt on a brighter note his second attempt was successful. Because he realized that I was trying to show him the right way. He also realized why are you had tons of experience in the container ship freight industry it meant nothing out here . To recap I think everybody in the industry even down to the secretary should experience the other side of the business. Which is the side that no one can do without. That's the driver side. Sorry if I came off harsh

No worries sir, we all have a bad day here and there. I was off all day, could barely string a sentence together. I hear you about the experience. That's why I'm not a fan of our legislatures writing laws that affects truckers, but havening never spent a single night in a truck, sleeping next to a couple of running reefers and smelling the truck stop parking lot on a hot summer day. They don't know what they do. While I never held a CDL, I put in the work over the years. Been OTR with my brother, started out with a box truck, working with my brother up to 18 hrs a day with dual scoliosis loading the trucks with high end furniture, hand delivering to customers, assembling it. We do a lot of local work and it all requires driver assist on the unloads, multiple trailers per day. I did that with my brother for years and ran with all our drivers to help train them. I've talked about and encouraged drivers to get their own loads. To make their own contacts. That truckers are actually at an advantage over a broker since carriers can find their own customers and aren't required to have a bond like a broker. Most truckers complain about brokers but refuse to find their own customers. It's easier to complain. As to some of these other channels on KZbin, I also talked about that on today's live show. Most of them do these news reels to grow their subscribers base and are willing to make videos all day long for the ad revenue KZbin pays them. Most of them haven't had anything to do with trucking in years. The guy you mentioned didn't even work standard OTR freight, he was doing household goods, which is a completely different business. Have a great rest of your weekend and a good week next week. If you ever want to let someone else handle your dispatching, let us know as you never know how much money you might be leaving on the table. The brokers aren't on your side.
