This narrator is like 1:11 "ok the tag happened right there and the runner's arm is still above the base" [a minute later] Ump calls safe. LOL

Once in a Mets game the announcers were saying that in the future they could come up with technology to make it easier, like having bases that light up when the runner touches it as well as sensors in the gloves. Similar to the detection systems in basketball hoops that prevent confrontations if it was at the same time as the buzzer

In basketball it’s based on if it’s left the players hand before the buzzer

well it looks like not much has changed. “well the tag definitely happens before the arm touches the plate? but where’s his other arm? guess we can’t call the obvious out an out.”

All this technology and they are still getting calls wrong in New York to this day. SMDH

I agree I slowed that down so much looks out to me! But kinda odd not to have more cameras in the ballparks for a bunch of different angles!

@@zgaviation6481 At 1:01 the tag is put on while runner's leg is still up and arm might be on the bag but in the angle at 1:11, you can see the runner's arm is above the bag.

@@mynameisabe905 yeah that’s what i saw too. it’s like why bother with multiple angles if they’re checking just one at a time

No, I've looked at some of the other video angles shown in this video (e.g. 0:58 watch the glove, it's not a force play, he has to tag the runner), and I think he's right. He's Safe!! Seriously.

Holy incompetence Batman, He's clearly OUT. The left arm is above the base while he's being tagged. The replay guy says he can't see where the right arm is in relation to the base, however it is visible and is clearly further away from the base than the left arm. NO WONDER so many bad calls come back from replay. This is really the example MLB replay releases to show how it all works? This was a blown call on all fronts. Why even have it?

They could add in sense that could in base that could go back to the storage area and then get wireless to the work place where the review system are at. I am smart

Seems like people don't understand how replay review works. If there is no CLEAR and CONVINCING evidence that the call was wrong then it stands. Period.

Doubt that the review people at the review system build doesn’t know a clue about baseball and they should get retired umpires to do the review system and they should also add to tell the coach and fans what are they are review and because right now they are living the fans in darkness

God bless you umpires who work for the MLB and are associated with them in any way.. it's not an easy job, and I feel personally that you are underpaid if I may say so. at least I suppose, education is not horribly expensive, about $5,000 or less usually total to study to become an umpire. it's still very had work, requires a lot of concentration etc..and standing too :P

I hate to be a conspiracy theorist about everything in this messed up world but....... the fact that it’s a third party and not the actual umps in the game going over the replay is a little concerning.
