Oh actually, you could probably avoid having to tie a new knot with my method if you tie a slip not instead of a square not. The amount of lacing would probably keep it from coming loose, but then you could adjust it to whatever dimensions without having to redo it.

That's a cool idea, thanks, I'll try it :) I think I'll have to get longer string though

I'm reading "The Dragonrider Chronicles". I had no idea what a Vambrace was. Your explanation was so clear as was your demonstration. Superb! Long ago I took a couple of archery classes and protective braces helped my arms. I don't think it was called a vambrace. Not only does the long ties help with versatile clothing, if a youngster is growing longer and taller, the ties won't have to be replaced. Also helps accommodate muscular growth too. Although if a youngster arms are developing getting too much, a new set might be needed. Thank you again. I hope you have made other videos.

Thanks for the comment :) archers usually call them a bracer or arm guard, vambrace tends to be the armor and fantasy term, and yes that is a good point about the ties

Nice! That's exactly how I tied mine back in the day. My strings were a lot longer than yours though and I didn't want to cut them, so they were quite tough to tuck away. Good point about the thicker clothing, especially with a gambeson you'd have to resize your kit. Smart to use both methods, it doesn't have to be either or! :) Love those bracers by the way. are they custom?

cool, I wear a single vambrace made from thinner leather with the ties on the outside for archery, that's where I perfected the tie one handed method, but I think I might switch to you're method for archery because it speeds things up a little and I usually wear the same number of clothing layers Glad you like them :) I actually made them, and at the time I didn't have much string, that's why it's a bit on the short side, if you're interested here's some stuff about them: www.ranger.budgetauthenticity.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=42013&sid=143d5bc4380608a1e68749f4f7c83ca7#p42013 www.ranger.budgetauthenticity.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=42322&sid=50697117baa85f5373f2e8c5a57d8cc5#p42322

I have a few of those rotors from those kind of pumps as well. They are so cool

Ha ha, thanks, cavity pump rotor, I can honestly say that I didn't expect anyone to ever recognize it, it's a worn out one from the factory I work at and it just looked far to cool to toss in the scrap bin :)
