Evercade Games To Revisit Part 1!

With a little lull and gap before the next Evercade releases, now is a great time to revisit the back catalogue of games. So many games to play, in this first part we choose 8 games that we will be replaying before the next cart releases.

Great picks to get us through this Evercade drought. I think the situation has been exacerbated by the December releases still being difficult to find and hopefully this will be resolved soon. I'd go for Brave Battle Saga on Piko Collection 1 because it was bugged on release and is one of the few proper RPGs on Evercade. Keep up the awesome work!

Great idea and great list! I recently finished Flashback after falling off it since it first came out and can definitely recommend it! I think you’ve inspired me to do my own list too, and I’ll borrow Chip’s Challenge and Jumpman for starters! Thanks as always!

If anyone doesn't have it unlocked, input 'stone' on the secret menu--for the evercade systems that have the hidden games and firmware from aug 2023 or later.

Flashback is definitely one of the best games we'll ever get on Evercade. Still one of the high water marks for the entire genre.

Great series to focus on Crazy! 😎 All great games listed, but stick to the Amiga mini for Cannon Fodder! Sadly Megadrive Cannon Fodder later on in the games is a glitchy mess and was not play tested properly when it was originally released on Megadrive. If you can get to Mission 6 - The Grand Canyon in one continuous play without restarting or using passwords the enemies become stuck in the scenery and for every level after this. The only thing you can do to fix it is to use passwords for these levels but using the password resets the troop names back to the beginning with Jools ect... The whole point of Cannon Fodder is keeping you men alive, having a record of the top troops with the most kills and seeing the grave yard grow, but you also get attached to the names of your troops which is the fun part! So if you have to reset on MD to fix the enemies then you lose that attachment to your troops and kinda makes it pointless playing. If you get good it's possible to make your troops Generals, if you have to restart that's also another thing that's lost when you use passwords. And obviously Save States will eventually glitch the game once you get to the Grand Canyon if you're still in the same game. Use the MD version for practice to get to Mission 6 but beyond that jump on the Amiga mini and play the original. The Amiga version has a proper save system to record everything so save states should work fine. I made it to disk 3 on Amiga and there were no glitches in sight!👍

My challenge to those who have the fantastic Lynx 1 cartridge is to give MegaPak and Ishido a shot. Specifically Chopper X and the secret pirate text adventure on MegaPak. If you get a real feel for how Ishido works you will probably love it forever.

Thanks for creating these Evercade videos. I'd like to see a third Atari Lynx Collection with Gauntlet: The Third Encounter, Klax, Paperboy, Rampage, Rampart, Road Blasters, S.T.U.N. Runner, & Shanghai. ..I don't think it'll happen, sadly, but it'd be a must buy if it did!

Some good choices here. I really wanted to like Cathedral but found it a bit too hard without save states. I’m increasingly thinking that save states are Evercade’s killer feature. A few games I’ve played and completed recently that I never would have finished without them. Combination of ability and time available.

Crystal Mines 2 is so good. I prefer it to both Dig Dug and BoulderDash. There's just so much going on. If you want a challenge, see if you can get over a million points on the level with the password ZERO. Keep a sharp eye out 👀

Chip's Challenge is just about as good. Who knew we'd get our best action puzzle games the first year? (I did, because I am a Lynx sicko, haha.)
