I've got both the VS-R and the EXP-R , I've had no problem with my EXP-R but the VS-R, has been problematic, infact I'm sending it back, the Evercade VS-R splash screen after the Blaze entertainment logo is not centered to the screen, it' sits to the right and down so it looks a mess and since I updated with the Murto game, it crashes the TV signal, usually about 2 levels in, even though the consoles blue bar remains the picture is lost and requires a reset, also it changes display settings of it's own accord.

Legacy of Kain was a very nice surprise. I remember seeing the games in magazines back in the day, but never had the chance to play them. The fact that it is basically "Zelda for adults" was a nice discovery. Tomb Raider also plays surprisingly well, especially with the savestates, which remove lots of the frustration. I did like the Bitmap Brothers 2 as well, especially for Gods. Z is a great game, but is almost unplayable with just a controller. Toaplan Arcade 3 is everything I expect from an arcade cart and plays well on Alpha. Overall, I think this was a good year for Evercade, even if the rebranded VS and EXP felt a bit lackluster.
@bjornh1527Күн бұрын
Yeah, the number of carts as a bit low, but since most were good I won’t complain! My favourites were: 1: Data East Arcade 2 2: Toaplan Arcade 3 3: Thalamus Collection …incidentally I just bought 3 carts this year! If I didn’t already have Ufouria on NES I’d absolutely pick up Sunsoft 2.
@jayme69Күн бұрын
Three great carts but wouldn't be my choices simply because I can play most of these on other platforms. My Top 3 would be: (1) Thalamus Collection (2) Bitmap Brothers 2 (3) Piko Collection 4 I think collectively they offer great value for money and a good variety of games. The convenience of being able to play C64 and Amiga games without having to dig out my micro consoles is also a big plus. Piko 4 having Glover 64 on it with the added analogue controller support makes it a worthy addition to my top 3 :-) Keep up the awesome work!
@nomadlonestar8004Күн бұрын
Great choices. This would be how I'd rank the cartridges from favourite to least favorite. Even my least favorites were still fun though. 1- Indie heroes collection 3 2- Toaplan arcade collection 3 3- Data East arcade collection 2 4- Legacy of kain collection 5- Piko collection 4 6- Toaplan arcade collection 4 7- Tomb Raider collection 1 8- Metal Dragon/ Life in mars 9- Sunsoft collection 2 10- Bitmap brothers collection 2 11- C64 collection 3 12- Thalamus collection 1

Honestly there were a a number of good carts this year (I'm surprised on the number of 2024 carts I have considering how new I am to Evercade). Toaplan 3 & 4 are both great carts for me and my third spot could swap either Tomb Raider or Legacy of Kain carts as they both show you can get large sprawling games in the Evercade Ecosystem.

Great video as always, C.B., and thanks! I ordered a new adapter right after watching this. The first EXP-R I received had some major issues, but the replacement works fine (and has almost no LCD corner bleeding). I'm personally satisfied with the sound of the EXP-R. I can mute it to a lower level than the Super Pocket, which makes gaming in public and around the family a better option for me. :).

@@kahuna2669 Awesome, thanks!
@Stephen-20972 күн бұрын
Great to hear your second EXP-R was good. But this is a concern. Your first had major issues, but the second fine. The reason they delayed the launch was because they found on an initial batch that some had issues and others didn’t. Are the units that people have issues with, having the same issues that Blaze found in that initial batch? Did some slip through, did they just release them anyway? This is precisely why I’m not buying an EXP-R yet. I don’t want to buy one unit, fine it’s bad, get a replacement. Rinse and repeat :/
@kahuna2669Күн бұрын
@Stephen-2097 I also had 2 exp's. Both got send back, I also got a full refund after the second because the overheating issue was really problematic. But I must say, I really enjoy playing on the exp-r, it takes away all the bad vibes the exp left me.

As Yoda once said, "The boy has no patience", with regards to Nobby the Aardvark. 😂😉 The worst game if you can call it that this year was... Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo on Evercade Alpha, we were robbed!!! I told Blaze on the announcement video the western release was locked to the hardest difficulty no matter the setting and only the Japanese version does the difficulty options actually work, and yep we got the western release which is basically unplayable to most people! And it's set to the fastest speed via the dip switches?? The game imo is bugged so that means we only received 5 Street Fighter related games and one glorified Demo that is Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo on the Alpha - Street Fighter Edition.😖 Sega Saturn and a copy of Street Fighter Collection for the win!🤘🤘
