Just bought them both !

I'm pleased to report both Legacy of Kain & Bitmap Bros Collection 2 carts work fine on the previous firmware on my VS, that's the Collie Defence game of the month firmware! It looks like Kain might do well as it was quickly selling out on Funstock yesterday. Just a shame Blaze are not sat on a load of machines to shift even more copies to nrw comers. 😢 Thanks Crazy! 🙂👍

I'd love to see Akuji The Heartless on an Evercade cart (or as a remaster). Never got deep into the Tomb Raider games and clones, but something about the whole Voodoo mythology got its hooks in me and I finished it a couple times on the PS1. Might be fun to revisit these days.

The big difference between the Evercade release and the remasters is the lack of Blood Omen in the remastered collection. It has Soul Reaver 1 (the PS1 game) and Soul Reaver 2 (which actually is the fourth game in the series, after Blood Omen, Soul Reaver and Blood Omen 2, which focused on Kain's exploits instead of Raziel).

The upcoming remasters are Soul Reaver 1 & 2, not Blood Omen. I'll be playing BO on Super Pocket the the remastered sequels on console. Vae Victus !! 👌👌

I played through both of these back in the day. The first one is an interesting concept but extremely clunky and repetitive. Soul Reaver is one of the best action games of the whole era. Incredibly good voice acting and a big world to explore that oozes theme and Lovecraftian vibes. But it’s a rare exception. Most of the 3D games from this era have not aged well. That said, while I’m happy that this got ported, I really hope we’re not going to get piles of shoddy early 3D games without analogue controls on the Evercade when they’ve barely scratched other retro stuff like Colecovision, Turbografx/PcEngine, and they’ve barely scratched the Genesis/mega drive. There are also several pc lines like the Atari 800 series, ZX spectrum, MS-DOS, TI99, CoCo etc that are untouched. I want all of that 8-16bit stuff. I really don’t want a bunch of tank controlled janky, fugly ps1 era 3D platformer stuff like tomb raider. Maybe it’s just me.

Would be helpful to include the SuperPocket in these reviews. Just to show it runs well.

I'm having a blast with this collection. From the time they announced a partnership with Crystal Dynamics I really wanted to see Blood Omen on Evercade. It runs really well and, I might be wrong, but it seems the load times have improved slightly?

haven't played soul reaver on evercade yet, but iirc wasn't the sneak used like the walk in tomb raider for more controlled movement?

I recently checked out a really in-depth vid on KZbin. About the making of BLOOD OMEN. Fascinating stuff. There’s so much story to the game. Never played this one myself, but it seems very interesting to play and explore! There seems ALOT of things though. That by modern standards seems “clunky”. Repetitive. Similar enemy types. Unclear or complicated menus etc… But I guess this is a game which tried these things out first?! 🤔. Not sure if this could be classed as a TRUE remaster. Without improving on the things I briefly mentioned?! What do you think Crazy Burger? 🤔. Regardless. I think BOTH games seems good anyway! One I will definitely consider owning! 🤔😊

If I'd known back in the day these games were from Silicon Knights I would 100% have had played them. My favourite Horror game until Resident Evil 4 came out was Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. The audio and acting was a massive standout in that game. I think the voice over actor is the same as the Roman character in ET.

There is a new game of the Blood Omen franchise coming out soon. This may be the reason, why Blaze could get these licenses.

It's a great collection to be released on Evercade. I'll probably pick it up during a dry period of releases and in the meantime play on either PC or PS Vita :-) Keep up the awesome work!

So can you play these games on the original evercade handheld or are they ruined by the lack of a second shoulder button?

Curious as to whether this plays reasonably well on the Pocket due to screen size. I want to play these on the go and will get the remasters for console when they come out.

Regarding Soul Reaver - Due to copyright claims, the intro music for Soul Reaver around the 21 minute mark has been muted. This is not an Evercade issue, just a KZbin one! Lol it sounds rather haunting without music.

Bonkers. I presume this is driven by a need to “gotta catch em all” as some of these carts are average at best. I’ll hold off until I’ve had a chance to play on Alpha but might have to punt the legacy ones if these prices continue.

Hi , thanks for playing. sorry u found it a bit too tough. was always afraid of this. I designed it to be a continuation from flea 1, with a quick tutorial for newcomers. Mabie a Mario lost levels type of deal on difficulty. Hopefully keped adding new mechanics enough to keep you interested.

Noticed in the manual that they have a typo at "This cartridge works on PAL and NTCS" which should obviously read "NTSC". Just my OCD kicking in ;-) Have wishlisted on Steam :-) Keep up the awesome work!

I sold my Codemasters, Oliver Twins and Technos 1 carts to CEX because they were just collecting dust and I used the money (I think I got £140) for a new HD monitor for my custom Bartop. I did notice my local CEX had multiple copies of the Oliver Twins and the selling price had dropped to less than I got for trade in. At the end of the day I spent £45 for the three carts, played them for a good while back when I first got them and then tripled my money. They really aren't worth more than the retail price to me and I never pay more than retail when buying carts. Keep up the awesome work!

my N64 runs glover alot better and smoother /: glover for the n64 was a old christmas gift so i was excited for the evercade cartridge with glover inside but it has such a bad performance a laggy pixelmess on the evercade vs but its a ok playable...not optimised but playable experience on the superpocket, the evercade alpha with the arcade stick will be the best sweetspot maybe.

Flea2 looks really challenging. But with savestates at beginnig of each level, it will be a lot of fun and trial&error, like Supermeatboy

That type of punishment would have been ace on C64 back in the 80's, like Cauldron! But yeah streamlining the gameplay for today's gamers where it requires perfection when it comes to jumps and moving is just asking people to say FFS. There is only so many times you can say FFS before that turns towards hate lol. Definitely one for the hardcore of retro punishing classics! Thanks for the sneaky look and review Crazy! I have a sealed Irem cart. Waiting for that to go legacy because that is probably the best cart there is. I only have two of them because it was enclosed with the EXP. but there is an Irem cart 3 in the pipeline so I do not hold my breath 😂

I have all those legacy carts and I'm thinking about selling them because I guess they will not last forever. Building quality of the whole evercade system is rather poor.

As someone in the US who's never heard of the Spectrum or ZX prior, im actually excited for this one. I just ordered it for the Storytelling, Isotopic Adventure, and Marble type games. These titles seem like what this hybrid would excel at in drawing in new players/programmers in this modern landscape. Thanks for the great video as always!

Salve a tutti. Mi dispiace per chi non si trova bene con Evercade. Non trovo che siano di scarsa qualità le cartucce e neanche le consolle, anzi i materiali sono ottimi secondo il mio punto di vista. Con la primissima Evercade ci gioco ancora 5 6 ore di fila senza problemi,l'exp mai dato problemi manco le vs. Premetto che li seguo dall'inizio e mano a mano che uscivano le cartucce le compravo fino ad arrivare alle 16. Mi fermai per problemi economici non perché non volessi piu' comprarle. Dopo quasi un anno inizio di nuovo la mia collezione e ad oggi ho il full set. In media pagate tutte 20 euro togliendo le spese di spedizione. Solo una mi ha fatto dannare ,la numero 19 che l'ho pagata 40 e' mi e' arrivata dal Canada dopo un mese, ancora oggi benedico quel buon Canadese. Ma era l'unica a 40 le altre trovate tutte superavano 50 60 e 100 dollari e mi domando perché? Io non colleziono per vendere ma per detenere. Forza Evercade 🎉🎉🎉
