One of the real problems in discontinuing the previous hardware before introducing the new is that some people potentially wanting to get into Evercade literally cant. EXPs are sold out EXP R's are delayed. This is why most companies phase out old consoles after the new ones are out.

At the end of the day, Blaze aren't a good company but don't get anywhere near the hate that Analogue, Strictly Limited Games or others do. Evercade has essentially became a seasonal fomo pre ordering driven experience.

I think it's just a scale issue, a business like Blaze doesn't have the scale to order and hold large advanced stock levels. Doing such things is dangerous, in the 80s it was doing exactly that that bankrupted the UK's fledgling computer industry. Only Acorn Electronics came back from their bankruptcy, they came back as ARM.

I'm in the UK and I use to order my Evercade carts off Amazon but got fed up being let down by them overselling their stock. I now order only from Funstock and have never been let down by them. I received my Tomb Raider and Thalamus Collection yesterday from Funstock.

I got the carts Thursday. I don't understand the BS as they knew very early this year they were going to run stock out of white EXP's & VS. I reckon penny pinching has caused a major bulls up. I was shocked you can get a 32GB mini SD for £5 at Argos, yet that's how much extra it costs for a giga cart that's possibly 2GB at most lol.

To add to the conspiracy there's only about 3 VS-R unboxing videos that I could find (on unknown channels) and in the comments of one of them there was a problem that a customer's VS-R firmware would not and could not be updated to the latest version, even after being factory reset?

Arrived earlier than I thought, came a couple hours ago and it's defective. Wifi is obviously defective on this one but I am wondering, is it normal to have to hold down power button for a moment for it to come on (quick press won't do it?)? Also, normal for TV to get no signal for almost a minute while the light bar flashes different colors?

@@mythias quick press doesn't work. You need to hold it for a few seconds. Try press the reset button on the back. I've heard that fixes the WiFi issue.

It's 3 updates behind (3.1.7), Block 'Em Sock 'Em as game of the month and outdated library. Any way to force an update with a USB drive or am I stuck? I have an unopened original Vs system and wouldn't want to buy this Tomb Raider bundle or the horrible coloured R models anyway. If they do another revision in another few years it has to be better than what they're currently doing. Blaze have history with this. They discontinued the current products before the replacements was ready. It seems that Evercade is becoming a seasonal pre order company.

Bit cheesed off tbh I preordered it ages ago. Maybe foolishly assumed preorder would translate to a reservation on the stock when it arrives. If its been heavily preordered it should be a clear indication of how many units need to be available as a minimum. I think its likely due to Tomb Raider being included and its lead to many people ordering the system for that game cart. Ive seen a number of videos by American youtubers and advertised on the official Tomb Raider sites and social media too.

My Thalamus collection is delayed at Amazon. I'd rather buy the Tomb Raider Collection on Steam or Switch, otherwise I would have ordered the double pack from Videogames Plus. Maybe stop buying up multiple consoles then, there was no need for you or others who already own multiple evercades to buy anymore but again the problem with collectors is you are ruining it for everyone else and making it easy for scalpers to target gamers
