I have yet to understand why anyone would risk their life, risk losing their limbs, risk being caught in an avalanche, or risk dying an awful death just to accomplish a goal and say they did it. There are safer ways to accomplish a goal. There is nothing wrong with challenging yourself but to me it is just too risky. I am a dare devil myself but I also know my limitations. Everest is a death trap.

Better choice, much better.
@Galactusz0074 күн бұрын
You obviously didn’t do much research. The best time of year to visit Everest Base Camp for good weather is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), as these seasons offer clear skies, stable weather, and milder temperatures compared to the monsoon season of summer (June to August) or the harsh winter months (December to February). A lot of people have no idea what the Everest Base Camp trek is. It’s not the actual mountain. It’s basically an awesome 12 hour.80 miles hiking trek. It’s friggin awesome. You get to sleep in hotels and eat in their restaurants. Zero mountaineering skills, you just have to be in shape to walk 80 miles in two weeks.

And for the honor of living through those nightmares, you get to pay tens of thousands of dollars. Screw that. I can think of better ways to waste that much money. It seems very far removed from what Sir Edmond Hillary did.

I’m not saying it’s a bad video but Everest isn’t the most remote 8000 peak by far & avalanches aren’t nearly as common or fatal as other peaks. it’s also not the deadliest peak by far. Annapurna, K2, Gasherbrum, Nanga Parbrat, Makalu, Denali etc. all have higher death rates. It is the highest but not the toughest to climb.
