I have a unique perspective where I currently live. Out my dining room window from nine floors up I can see Yokohama and nearby Tokyo. It is impressed on my soul that the lights on the skyline represent over 37,000,000 souls. The largest city on earth by population. Statistically less than 1 percent of Japan believes. If you confess with your mouth and believe in you heart God raised him from the dead You become you will be saved. It will turn your life around .when you truly repent and believe, God sees you mean it and the Holy Spirit Comes and will live in you. See John 14. The you would be be born again as found in John 3 then be baptised. Remember the church is not a building with those horrible statues and stain glass windows with lifeless figures with halo's round their heads but is everyday people who worship God from the heart in their daily lives. I heard them live last year and instantly loved them. I've listened to this song so many times, and just tonight I realized what it was really about. Many Biblical scholars believe that we are the new age Babylon, and I feel the same. I believe this song is telling us to wake up...to get the message out there about GOD. We don't have to be the city on the hill ready to be turned to ashes and cinder. We could be the city that won't be destroyed if we are obedient and share God's word. I just love this song and what it means spiritually for us, if we were to adhere to God's word and truly be God's people, and bring God back to the USA. Let's be that CITY on the HILL that makes God proud, rather then be the one he destroys in one day and in one hour!
