It really excels as a desk caddy. Those back pockets are a perfect place to put a work cell phone and a personal cell phone when you're sitting at your desk. I normally leave mine on my desk and only take it when I'm doing roving meetings. I think it's mostly a useful product if you tend to need to set up a Mobile station in multiple locations.

I disagree with headphones working. One reason I stick with Bose QC 35/45/SE etc is they do fit and fold up nicely, one reason I rejected the Sony’s MX5.
@mplant19997 ай бұрын
Agreed - I carried Bose QC Ultra over-the-ear headphones (until I gave them to my son) in my CAP2. They fit fine along with my cables, a battery, a small notebook, and a couple of charging blocks. Pens, erasers and a bunch of other stuff went in the top pocket.
@1Eilatan7 ай бұрын
MX4s fold up really well, too. Sony somehow forgot that when making the version 5.

This looks cool as a tech caddy, but after trying a bunch of tech and admin pouches out, i learned I prefer smaller, softer, lighter pouches, that also have external attachments that can do double duty as a sling or waist pack. The wandrd tech pouches have fit the bill the most for me, above even the stiffer alpakas. Conceptually some Tom bihns might fit the bill too.

Having both, I regret buying the Cap2. It's great for those who have a tonne of gear but for everyday ppl, the Cap1 is so much more practical. Also I like their products but the whole designed in Montana thing is misdirection BS.

@@KelvinHew7 No, AER says Designed in San Francisco, which is fine. The problem is that Evergoods deceptively says "Developed" which is definitely meant to mislead people into believing its also MADE IN USA which it is NOT.
@DaemonViews7 ай бұрын
Yeah aer follows the apple approach with the designed in. I like my cap2 for work because it carries my mx masher as well. Which was in a separate carry case before because I had squashed a button on one of those before. So it doesn't really takes up more space.
@Nomads.Nation7 ай бұрын
in my opinion, "designed in" is perfectly fine (and sort of industry standard), but "developed in" can be a little misleading
@DaemonViews7 ай бұрын
Yeah at the price point and with the developed in I was one of those people who first thought it was made there. Although honestly, the people in Asia have such an expertise in building bags I don't see why it would be a negative. Just that there often is a premium price tag to US made.

I have from aer/alpaka/tomtoc and i can tell, this evergoods IS the GOAT when comes to tech pouch. The design is amazing and fit my gear perfectly. Alpaka Vertex is similar design, but when i fully load it, it does not fit nicely like CAP2. I think is the best , unfortunately, no strap comes with it.

I have the Aer Slim Pouch and CAP 2. The front organization of the Aer Travel Pack 2 and the Pouch combo is good enough where I’ve never taken the CAP 2 on a trip. 😅 I was tempted to repurpose the CAP 2 as a toiletry bag, but it’s not as functional as the Peak Design Wash Pouch!
@kalvin.6 ай бұрын
In terms of design, this is in my top 3 for pouches: CAP2, PeakDesign Tech Pouch, and Bellroy Pencil Case. It’s a bit bulky and on the heavier side, but I use it for larger tech so it fits its role and it’s a known volume which I appreciate for packing. The PD tech pouch is the perfect small items pouch to efficiently organize all the little bits and bobs, but it can be overly complex if you just need to store a few things, and the accordion design means it can be easy to overfill the pouch and make it difficult to close. That’s where I love the pouches from Bellroy, especially the pencil case. Its simplicity yet considered construction doesn’t show as well on a flashy advertisement, but shines in daily use.
@houserhythm6 ай бұрын
I have the PD Tech Pouch, but find it a bit too big for what I usually carry. I end up using the CAP1 or PGYtech Mini Tech Organizer most of the times, depending on whether longer and flatter, or shorter and bulkier fits better with the rest of what I pack. They both fit my mouse, 65W Anker wall plug, 3 USB-C cables, Samsung T7 SSD, Nitecore NB10000 power bank, AirPods Pro, a bunch of SD cards, thumb drive. And that's about all the tech I carry, and really don't see what else I could need...

It was a toss up between the CAP2 and the Aer Cable Kit 3 and I went with the latter (IIRC the color/material combo I would have wanted for the Evergoods was not available) but I do love the conversion from pouch to caddy of the Evergoods. The CK3 is a great everyday tech pouch at home but experience has pushed me towards the Aer Slim pouch for minimalist travel, that thing can pack a lot more than its size looks! Jack & Kevin originally planned to have their gear sewn/made in the US. After they worked with US manufacturers, who agreed to make them, they started taking orders… only to have the factory tell them they didn’t have the equipment & expertise to execute the technical designs. The only factories they could find capable of producing the original products was OCONUS. They then reached out to the community & offered to refund anyone who didn’t want bags made in Vietnam & reduced their price points. They’ve been very transparent though video, newsletters, & blogs & that info remains readily available. I don’t believe this is nearly as misleading as GORUCK spending years stating their gear was proudly made in the USA “and always well be” before moving the majority of their production to Vietnam & not making it obvious which products are made OCONUS.
@Nomads.NationАй бұрын
Totally agree with you in regards to their launch. I know the story and they were class acts about it for sure. But the current branding 10+ years after their launch is a completely different discussion. Their current patch says 'Designed & Developed in Bozeman' with the 'Sewn in Vietnam' tag buried where its harder to find. To me that seems a bit misleading.

The way evergoods kind of hides the made in label irks me a bit too. They're not shy about the "designed and developed" in montana part, I just wish they'd have some respect for the people who actually make their stuff. Goruck does the same thing with their vietnam stuff, as if their "built in the usa" label is supposed to mean something other than overpriced 😂

agreed, it just feels misleading to me

Not the GOAT. Sure, it's an interesting design. But it's too big and heavy. And inefficient. For it's size, it should hold 3L. It holds 2L due to all the padding and internal organization (8 ounces empty!!!)
