Great comparison of these two bags. Both would be fantastic if each company would just add an integrated, lay flat, external water bottle pocket. GR could put two, EG could easily put one on the left side.

Agreed. Like he says about a hike, a water bottle is a major thing I want in a light bag for walking around.

I don't personally see GORUCK ever doing that on the GR series bags. They dable on that M-series in different way though. I like the M22 style best personally. As for EVERGOODS I think they'll keep things separate on the CPL and CTB lines. Really hoping for a smaller CTB one day.

Naaah (no). They are not school bags. They don't need a water bottle pocket. IMHO.

@@MS-ge2jb don’t really understand the school bag reference. Most school systems I’m aware of don’t allow kids to carry drinks around. But for hiking, travel, and even daily office carry, water bottle pockets are a necessity IMHO. If they lay flat when not in use, like Evergoods and Alpha One Niner designs, if you don’t want them, you barely know they are there, and for those that want them there they are. So useful for other items you may want to carry as well, umbrella, rolled up light jacket, etc.

Would you say the Whitley touches these, or would you easily pick one of these over that? Also, as a broad chest and large guy, would you recommend a GR1 over a bullet for the straps? I’ve heard some say the bullets aren’t as padded, wide, etc. Thank you!

Very different layouts actually and so it depends on how you plan to use it. The Whitley has that every nice front admin section. As for the bullet/GR1...yes the GR1 would probably work better. The straps on the GR1s are definitely more padded

@ Thanks a lot man! Any other beefy / wife strapped comfortable bags you’d recommend for my EDC as a big guy, or just stick with the GR1? I feel like in theory, having an admin section or the ability to “work from” the bag is cool, but I feel like I end up preferring the pouch route anyway. But I guess I’m torn there. Love the channel, I appreciate all you do!

Well, that's a tough one because the layouts are drastically different. Overall there are more zippered pockets in the GORUCK design so I guess that one gets the edge...but in all cases it really depends on how YOU plan to pack it out. Everyone carries different stuff so there is never really a "one is better" answer.

Just FYI, the kargo loculus is a better competitor to the greenroom one than the chrome kadet. I almost bought the greenroom but last moment switched to the kargo loculus.

Oh yeah. The reason was bit price. Loculus was in vx cheaper for me. But mainly pockets on the inside. More zippered ones in the loculus. And also the pocket on the shoulder strap for the airpods.

Hey JB, no worries in the short term, but my friends who travel around Asia with the Goruck dual compartment backpack often have the mesh in the second compartment give up on them. Now they're stuck trying to figure out how to replace or repair it.

I had a CPL 24 just returned it for the GR1 heritage to be honest with you I like to CPL but the fabric sucked in my opinion it picked up way too much scuffs and dirt for me plus the gram handles are so uncomfortable for a bag of that price they could have done better. The GR1 heritage is a bit heavy but it's a beautiful bag obviously I know it's much more expensive but at the end of the day it's not that much worse and I feel like you're getting double the quality

Give me the CPL in ANY other color. I know you need all black for work but all black everything is getting OLD. Coyote, that crazy blue they used on the ecopak series, burnt orange, OD green or even that maroon color way they had for the CAS. I’d do it. I have too many black edc bags.
