I love this bag and I'm happy they fixed the issue with material collecting dust and hair and included the breathable back panel, but the handle can be really uncomfortable to carry. So I'm torn between this and the Aer City Pack Pro.

Great review Danny! I recent got a Burnt Orange CHZ22 and am loving this new external material. Very lightweight, extremely abrasion resistant and much more weather proof than the previous versions. I also notice dust and dog hair don't magnetically attract to the pack and wipes clean with a danp cloth. Having damp Cordura bags for years, Evergoods new ballistic nylon is that sweet spot for the mountains of Colorado 🌲

I swapped my CTB26 for a mirror CPL24. The CTB just felt and looked a bit too big for me. Haven’t had a chance to properly use the CPL yet but it’s a much better size and more comfortable; it handles weight a bit better I think

In order to stop obsessing about which one to buy, mainly for use as a carry-on bag, I decided to pull the trigger on this model in the newly-released waxed black canvas. It arrives Saturday. Hope its nice!:) Thank you!

Great video Danny. i currently have the North Borealis which has been amazing, but ready for an upgrade. Am really torn between the CPL24 & CTB26 for every day use. I love the CTB26 with he additional features, but just looks quite bulky, even compared to something like the Borealis c. 28L.
@dannypacks5 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching and definitely a tough choice between the two! The CTB26 definitely feels larger than the 24 and I agree it also feels larger than the borealis due to how wide it is so for edc I still lean towards the CPL24 and the CTB is my go to all purpose bag

Their pricing is difficult to swallow compared to aer. I have a number of evergoods pouches and a sling and then aer backpack and sling and can't say that the price difference is warranted. KZbin sure makes me believe it would be though.

@@microvizartI have extensively worn the aer CPP now and it's super comfortable. I only just have a cpl28 v2 so it's difficult to say but initially the aer feels a lot plusher and aerier. Perhaps there is some magic that appears when worn for longer with the cpl. I'll see and report back when I have more information.

@dannypacks5 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching! I think this size should work well for that on most airlines, it’s height might be tricky if Air France is super strict (I haven’t flown with them before) but I have used similar sized bags comfortably on Ryan air and easy jet in Europe

Thanks for the review Danny! What do you think about this bag vs. the A19 Whitley? I love the look of the CPL24 but I feel like the lack of water bottle pockets and the mixed vertical/horizontal access seems like a design flaw. Whitley is only vertical which seems to make more sense but not sure what you think.
@dannypacks11 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching and definitely a tough choice! The water bottle pockets is a plus for the Whitley, but I prefer the pocket layout on the cpl as well as the fact that it’s laptop compartment is separate from the main area

IMO the fact that you have vertical and horizontal access is a plus - that front vertical pocket is amazing for over shoulder access!

Looks like a similar basic design to the Arcido Saxon (actually Saxon V2). Also, the extra long handle on the side can serve as a luggage pass thru, no?
@dannypacks9 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching! Saxon definitely seems like a solid alternative and that’s correct you can get away with using the handle as a luggage passthrough but it does put a lot of pressure on the handle so I would be worried about the impact to the aluminum stay

@dannypacks4 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching! Both are really great overall, I might lean slightly towards the cpl given it’s pocket layout and the fact that it holds its shape better and it has the dedicated laptop sleeve but if you want something that looks slimmer when it’s not as full or if EVERGOODS harness is not a good fit then the venture ready might be a better option
@BrianWaldram4 ай бұрын
@@dannypacksThanks for the feedback. I did some additional research and ended up going with the Aer City Pack Pro XPac. I loved the Evergoods, but I typically only carry an iPad when traveling. It seems that the laptop compartment is more dedicated volume wise on the Evergoods. Seems like the Aer has the separate compartment, but it isn’t quite a segregated volume wise. Luggage pass through was also nice. It’s supposed to arrive tomorrow, so we’ll see. Thanks again for all the great reviews!
