On the first day of official adventure riding, we set off from Moab, Utah to Ouray, Colorado on an amazing journey that took us nearly 200 miles and 10,000 feet! We had KLRs, KTM 690s, an 1190, an XR 650, a WR250, and my DRZ 400. See how they all fared on this amazing ride!

Great scenery, editing, narration and music choices. Those panoramic shots are stunning. Did anyone else lean left while watching them skirt along with the shear drop off? Yikes, keep your cool on that scree! Thanks, Tyler, and looking forward to more.

Finished a ride today that was AWESOME! Rode out to Fort Pearce via the unpaved Warner Valley Rd. Located 12 miles south of St. George, Utah. Also past the Warner Valley dinosaur track site. Will post some pics and hopefully a video when I get back to Tennessee. Pictures can't capture the beauty of the landscape. You need to see it in person to appreciate it. You are fortunate to live so close to these trails!

I feel both so full and empty inside after watching this video. Toroweap was my first and only taste of the long adventure and that one was one of my favorite ones. I want to see and ride amazing places like these. It is all I want to do in life. I don't care where it is, I'm taking off for at least two weeks next spring to go ride. This was a show. Your videos are no longer videos. They are shows. The next step would be a movie and I am going to weasel my ass in that as hard as possible! haha!

I'm riding this in a few weeks and coming from a guy who's primarily been an asphalt rider for years, this will be quite the challenge! The stressful music played during the sheer drop offs was a real butt tightner ha ha. Thanks for the creation and sharing of your video.

I blame you, for this. I started watching your videos yesterday, and today I went out and test rode a Kawasaki 650 and a 250. Now tomorrow I am probably going to go buy a new Suzuki DR-Z400S. And I will be signing up for a Ride with you next year. Thanks for making me spend more money ;)

The don't call me gator man for nothin! Haha. But really gators spook easy, most times they just run away if they see humans. We only get problems with them when people start feeding them.

When I was 16, went over Imogene coming from Ouray on my KLR250. I don't remember all of those drop-offs, but it was really foggy up there that day.

+eveRide ADV It actually wasn't that bad. I don't recall the trail being particularly technical, not like Black Bear Pass which has some knarly stuff on the descent into Telluride. I ended up on that with my KLR650 3 years later, caught in a thunderstorm with nowhere to run for cover, but that wasn't the scariest thing I have done in this area. The most frightened of all the times I was riding around in this area was my first time out on US 550 heading up to Red Mountain Pass from Ouray. I was 15, barely had my provisional license for 5 months, and never been that close to a 1000 foot drop-off in my short life on 2 wheels. I was literally screaming at the top of my lungs, "I'M GONNA DIE!" My 1978 Honda XL175 handled Engineer Pass like a boss as well as making it to the top of Black Bear and over Ophir Pass.

Well after watching this 5 times, we will finally comment :) Perfection is hard to describe but here it is... PERFECT! You've really improved from when we were watching your first videos to now. You must have been in heaven riding with like minded individuals and the scenery you got to see is just amazing! How did most of the bikes perform through out the trip? Very interested in a couple of the KTM's... it would be nice to get a bit more technical feedback on the bikes themselves. Thanks for pouring your heart into your video Tyler it really shows that you care :) *T4S*
@eveRide

+Sum4Seb Thanks so much!!! You know, I'm really biased, but I think the DRZ was the perfect bike for this trip. It had the range, the suspension, the clearance, and did all that the KTMs did for a lot less moolah. The KTMs are better, faster, and the engineering is top-notch... but that old DRZ did it with style :) Some of the guys I talked to said that the 690s are still buzzy and uncomfortable on the highway, and their range was about the same as my DRZ (which sometimes gets terrible fuel mileage).

+Tankerman Yeah they were kinda selective on who they picked with what bikes. Logistically they went with winners with KLRs because they have a lot of KLR parts on-hand, so any problems could have been easily fixed. The XR guy and me on my DRZ threw them for a bit of a loop, but our bikes did fine so no worries :)
