Don and Phil made the move from Cadence to Warner Brothers with the loudest bang possible with this monster hit in 1960. Their harmonies are just mesmerizing, inspiring so many others that followed like Simon & Garfunkel and The Beatles. They will be forever missed.

Yes when you listen to the Beach Boys or Beatles you might kid yourself into thinking those groups were the best harmonizers. But the Isleys are the OGs.

This is a clip from 'The Alma Cogan Show', on British TV, in 1960. The Everly Brothers if anything were even more popular in the UK than in their native US and this was one of four #1 hits they had here, spending 7 weeks at the top of the charts in early summer 1960. It remains an absolute classic! I've seen this clip before in b/w but you've done a great job in colourising it. Well done 👏😍

Was just 10 yrs. old when this song came out! Really (dug ) LIKED this So much that I got a little Japanese transistor radio, from doing yard work for neighbors. Listened to ANY thing these Classy men, offered. Led me to Others, like Roy Orbison! His "Pretty Woman" described my teacher/friend, in 7th grade, to a tee!!! What a Lady! Let's return to Kind, disciplined Educators like THAT... Or home school thy 'Little Ones' to Keep THEM Safe...

@benuron75 I'm sure they fought, they were brothers, that's what brothers do, and some of it was joking around for the people on stage, but after a lot of years that adds up and a guy can only take so much, etc! I'm POSITIVE they loved each other, but maybe they just need to remember that in their own time!
