Don was the more dominant but he was the lead singer, superb guitarist and best writer ..however Phil was the sweetest and nicest by a mile

If you watch lots of interviews with the Everly brothers Phil did plenty of talking. I love them both they shared the interviews.

Maria Hayward: Thank goodness for a sensible comment… Don and Phil were so good-natured with each other in this interview, chatting and pitching in together. What a shame that a few Phil-biased fans felt it necessary to make nasty and unwarranted remarks about Don. Phil had a wonderful tenor harmony voice, of course. But musicians the world over have acknowledged that Don had the best lead voice in any rock group… as well as being a massively creative innovator on rhythm guitar.

Interesting that I always get the feeling when I watch the two together that Don constantly wants to play the first violin. He interrupts Phil when he speaks, on concerts, it`s always him commenting and Phil always steps back. No wonder the two had trouble with their relationship for so many years. Phil seemed to be a much humbler personality. But I might be utterly wrong. TFS

le chat I felt exactly the same, that for sure must have been constantly difficult for Phil, still, Don is very sympathic NO DOUBT. I think he just did not realise... After so many years listening to their fabulous sound I also have in mind that Phil contribution to this sound is ranking Number 1 PHIL alone could almost reproduce Everly sound While Don could not. Listen to some Phil solo tracks in which he recorded two voices they are very close to the duet recordings... I miss Phil every day and I cried the day he died. I hope Don enjoys now a very happy Life and wish him the best, I love them both. A 74 years old french fan that was there for their last tour (in UK). Thierry Cordonnier

He probably has a bigger ego than Phil. Success does change people.

I agree. Don wanted all the attention. In the end, Phil was the most talented and the most dignified and refined of the two. Don just selfish

@@terryshoemaker8570 Don was the oldest and I think that's family dynamics. The oldest is leader of the pack, which is ok as kids but doesn't work so well in adulthood. If you've seen interviews with the Bee Gees, Barry does the same thing, only he has two brothers to talk over.

Timestamp 2:47-48, Phil was straining and his voice cracked on, "Now you're there all the time." The only voice crack in 68 years. I think we can live with that.

Hahaha there was this one performance where Don and Phil were asked to introduce themselves. Don was 20 then, Phil 18. Phil has always been the smiley one while Don always keeps a straight face. The host even told Don to smile lol. Some things never really change.

Don just rude, constantly interrupting and talking over Phil. Phil had all the class. Too bad. Beautiful harmony.

If you watch clips of Phil on his own, he seems genuinely happy.
