I don't know how many zillions of times I've watched this clip. I'm a vocalist and instructor of very difficult and beautiful world music vocal traditions - and so, kinda know great singing when I hear it. To me, this is just sheer perfection. Not fancy, but masterfully done, and with heart.

I was lucky enough to see them live at the LA Coliseum in the ‘90s, after they had reunited & started touring again. What is so great about this video & when my brother & sister & I saw them in LA is that their voices & their performance then was even better when they first recorded this & their other hits. There aren’t many performers left who are as good live as their recordings, or whose voices get better as they age, but these 2 definitely did both. Truly one of the most memorable concerts I’ve ever attended.

What a time it was--and how wonderful in the era of recorded music you CAN happen upon them now. Tom Jones was saying that he "heard" his Grandfather was a great singer, but he will never hear him as there are no recordings. How much better, that today your kids and great great, great--and so on, grandkids can hear Don and Phil. Just like the same song sung by Jerry Butler and Betty Everest, sung right before she left this earth, maybe my favorite version of this moving song. It strikes me the same as you by the way, tear up each time. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpOyf5qmotGXhac

Not a vocal expert, but there are but a handful of voices that have such purity, a clear, crystalline quality that pierces your soul, brings tears to your eyes. The Everly Brothers, Linda Ronstadt, Aaron Neville and Pavarotti all had it.😭😭😭💙💙💙

WHAT would one sliver of an Everly guitar be worth now, with provenance?!! I saw them many times in England, notably at Batley Variety Club, Yorkshire before that split (obvious problems) and years later at a reunion concert in Harrogate - perfection.
