I see Curios still... Efreet/Djinn camp in LI, get camping and upgrade them old things. Djinn drops dex (uncommon) and Efreet drops wis augs (common). Sell those wis augs and buy dex, sell three buy two, as they sell to the aug merchant for 350. Spent weeks myself updating and auging my important toons. 4,000 dex isnt quite enough for this xpac. I play a ranger and he sits at about 4600 dex. Teamed up with another ranger who was at 4200 dex and his headshot rate was craptastic (almost non existent) in Antexfan Keep on the gobbos. Even tho he could shred in Maidens eye he was doing almost nothing in Keep, so it looks like they have some sort of dex avoidance (or HS/assasin rate is based of your dex vs theirs). Shouldnt take you long to replace them old curios. Took my war a week and a half to fill up, and my zerk finished in 3 days. So a bit of RNG there, maybe just sacrifice a goat to appease RNjeezus and have at it. Rogues are indeed the top dogs at the moment. Flavor of the month. Wizards not so much, a lot of people love their wizards still, but they cant do anything a mage cant do... better. The poor wizos need some help, way too reliant on RNG for procs, and their crit rate is lower than the other casters. Also I did some testing and found just about 100 dex will incrase melee crit rate by 1%. It doesnt seem like much but if you can squeeze another 5% crit rate by upgrading yer type 5s, you will push over the 50% hump and the majority of your stabby stabbies will crit.

My testing: Went and whacked on a dummy for a while, multiple times on my ranger. Pretty consistent 55% crit rate. Removed all his type 5s, lost just over 2000 dex, and did it again. Lost 18% crit rate. (used Gamparse as it breaks down individual attack types crit chance. EQLP just lumps it all together: direct damage procs and stabbies combined). The actual crit formula is so gawd awful convoluted I had to just kind of narrow it down to a more simple idea. There are some special case classes tho, the sum crit chance (from dex, aa's, buffs, arms, etc..) gets divided by a number to figure crit rate. Most classes have a high divisible, but rangers get a very low one on ranged (so can get 100% crit rate with about 3500 dex and raid arms) and Warriors and zerks are just about in the middle, so need closer to 5000 dex to hit that magical 100% crit rate. I miss EQ2's much more informative UI, where it just told you what your crit chance was...

I definitely need to do that. Too little time, too many characters. I'm playing low levels with my friends one night a week. But I'll start upgrading gear. I'm enjoying your comments and advice.
@Twelvestrings7 ай бұрын
Great info. I never tried EQ2 other than logging on and gawking. I went with Star Wars the Old Republic and later Lost Ark for my other MMO flirtations. But you're motivating me to start thinking about upgrading my toons again.

@@Twelvestrings I'm kind of in the same boat. So many toons, and too many things to do, that it locks me up and i cant decide what to do! Level this toon? Wait no I need to do anniv missions... but it's bonus xp!~ Whattooeyedooo???

@hohenzollern6025 So true. But it keeps me logging in.

At least they'll know you can solo with non-prestige gear. I'm leveling my chanter (120 now) and shaman (119). I'm going to have to figure out what to do with them with gear. Have to give up their dated raid gear.
@MrKveite17 ай бұрын
@@Twelvestrings well the new t2 gear is pretty good unless you want to raid again wich i kinda doubt.

@MrKveite1 True. And easy to get.

"another pause between hide and sneak"... I normally do sneak first, then hide. That way the key will work while moving. I also commonly target the mob I want to pull before placing the smoke trap, just to make sure I always have the right target during the pull and don't have to take time or break concentration switching targets during the pull. It's interesting that you're doing molo at that level. I need to give that a try sometime. I haven't done molo for anything quite so close to level in a long, long time. Normally I have my ranger in tow so that I have tank and healer merc available, even if I'm not using the ranger's DPS.

Excellent points. I'll incorporate them. As for Molo, I just wanted to give it a shot. It's fun to mess about and see what I can do in FTP gear. Rogue is so much stronger in a group. My usual duo is necro and bard, because bards are so easy to box. I'd love to play around with a ranger. My highest level ranger is only 107 and I don't even want to think about his gear.

Never played a rog but know a few that have. One of the toons I never tried, but I DO love the abilities they have. Having main'd a Monk as my 2nd toon, first was Wiz, then after Kunark as Vel popped I picked up the Monk and enjoyed it very very much. Had a great time pulling on raids. Heh you are a LOT better than me and on EVERY class...

I find rogues a blast to play. Raiding I always mained a healer. Necro was my usual non raiding main. I enjoy most classes

I'd love to see you do this with a equally geared monk. I'm so curious how they hold up tank and dps wise against similar content.
@Twelvestrings7 ай бұрын
Sadly my monk is level 100. Not heroic. Just old. But I suspect a similarly geared monk would tank better. Not sure about DPS as my rogue is milking assassinate
@patriotenterprises93057 ай бұрын
Technically Molo
@Twelvestrings7 ай бұрын
True, very true. Wizard can solo. But a rogue needs to molo. Main point is you can kill trash while LFG if you want. Which I haven't been able to do on my cleric since around level 94 and that was painfully slow

Hey Strings, are the new expac mobs still insane health like the velious ones or did they make it a little less with the health pools
@Twelvestrings6 ай бұрын
They have a ton of hit points. But once my rogue got the new high ratio weapons, I have to say the mobs die quick. This isn't a hard expansion. My Necro had finished every achievement, quest and mission.
@masonking22536 ай бұрын
@Twelvestrings awesome. Maybe I'll DL it and try it. Velious was kind of rough for me with the mob hps. Lol

They really helped melee in this expansion. Wizards got a big boost too. You definitely want to upgrade your weapons ASAP.

@Twelvestrings what about Monks? Did they help them out or are they still in timeout for being classic/kunark gods? Haha
