The funny thing is that it isn't available on the TLE, Varsoon, but I'm so used to fast travel, that every time I open the map on Varsoon I get mad realizing I have to run.

I haven't seen your other videos, but a part 2 might be nice too to show familiars, mercs and overseers. Also important is the adornment reclamation spell. Side note, if you end up on the boat, you can click the wheel to get off.

12:46 one the reasons I stopped playing EQ2 in the day and went back to EQ was because the game was unplayable on anything except low/medium and I had the best tech for the time. The design logic of “we will make a game that’s unplayable today so it still looks good in 10 years time” was pretty dumb.

Not to mention that you can never predict the future, so multi-core processing wasn't really in their thinking if my understanding is correct, so you still have some issues to this day on a mid-range tower because it wasn't built with todays processors or gpu's in mind.

@@zorgonox8479 this is one big area that WoW outplayed them. EQ2 lost me as a paying customer pretty quickly. Art design > technical fidelity. Though I can’t blame the devs back then for not knowing that. I CAN call them out for a pretty obvious poor design choice of “build it and it will eventually work”. Not a good business decision.

Any advice to handle the spell/ability bloat? I started playing on release and occasionally return but the spell bloat is insane. I have a level 100 Paladin who has 72 abilities on the bars and that is not having them all on there. This is the one thing that stops me from playing anymore.

Yes. Macros. Create a macro and stack all those abilities together. I don't think I have a video on it, but you can do a simple search. Basically you can reduce the number of hot buttons to 1-3 spell bars, yet have access to every ability you can use.

I love how many spells are in EQ2! It's one of the reasons I keep coming back. Modern MMOs use only 1 or 2 hotbars and I find it really boring. EQ2 is so fun because u have 4 hotbars that actually get used there's so much more variety to combat than other MMOs because of it

Halls of Fate seems to have the largest population. There is also a lot of activity on Antonius Bayle. Both these servers will be top heavy, so the leveling may be lonely - but quick.

Not if you have friends! With just 2 rl friends and mercs, you've got 85% of the content available to you. Joining discord is helpful in getting groups as well.
