I can not commit to quarm in it's current state. P99 for me is where its at. But the burnout issue is real. I finally pushed my Druid to 60 and it nearly made me quit the game. It's been a long road to get a 60 finally on one character. I am content for now.

Personally I simply couldn't stand the server's old client, it is so janky compared to p1999's titanium client. I would probably have gave it a more definitive shot if it wasn't for that part.

a little burned out is quite fair. im just glad youre still kicking up dust. i love this game. i wish i were right there next to torch 3 in east commanlands selling bone chips for 5pp a stack , right next to you buddy. i used to advertise "WTB Skull shield !" and id like that red sheild with the skull on it, i forget the stats and name, I sold a many items. good times indeed.

Hit 30, had a 15 minute manastone list, bout 2 hr guise camp, 6 hrs in CT got me every piece of rubicite! Only single box-pop server Bob and new client will be out in a few months.

I do the same thing. I watch these classic EQ videos all day, and chomp at the bit, and then I go home and play WOW Classic instead. I love EQ more than WOW, but EQ is just too slow for my adult life now. Trying to create a new character on P99 is rough due to no grouping, so it really limits what classes you can play and I don't like to solo, I like socializing and grouping. I simply just get too bored sitting for 5 mins between every kill, waiting to med mana. Maybe one day P99 will start a fresh server like they promised us they would do. Till then, for the alliance!

Try quarm then! always a group open, pet classes have it super easy on the aggro (unless you do like 50% of the hp in dmg they will just stick to pet) and theres still enough room for everyone tbh.

That's my issue. I tried EQ for the first time on the Oakwynd TLP server, and seeing like this or P99 feels like going back 20+ years. Don't have the time or inclination to deal with things like no maps, or naked corpse runs, or relying on other players for basic gameplay. WoW has its flaws, but it fixed all of those problems with EQ and that's a big reason why WoW became the dominant MMO and EQ declined.

what an interesting balance. i dont want to play it perfectly. but, i do enjoy playing it to the best of my ability. im 45, im from oklahoma, america. i totally agree. first place is for the insain but. i do enjoy doing my best. ive no care for top ranks but. i do fancy scaring first and second place with my abilities. as much as i enjoyhanding over that trophy to a bested oponent. i really am not here for the "w". the victory, the win. but. and i really dont mind losing. i just enjoy the joust. likeyou tried to explain, you dont need to be perfect but, you do enjoy understanding the game and doing well well well enough. ^ ^ thank you for another lovely video. i sure wish i was there.

The best spot to hit 3 or 4 is in ak'anon down in the evil gm tunnels. Tons of lvl 1 and 2 mobs down there Bob.

druid rings. always some high level danger there ! even for the level 1 adventurer X_x.

quarm is pet class server, they gave everything to pet casters basically, regen skin, pet heals, max pets, pet with pop era stats etc. for melee its a classic experince with mobs having better atk rating then supposed too, so a bit rough at start.

Bob, the starting area in classic is inside Ak'Anon, as you're on to here. The area all the way north at the nec, cle, war and rog trainers 🙂

My way to min/max fun out of classic EQ is to start static Duo/Trio groups, its tough though to setup but works.

Bob go to three windmills loads of low level bones and grunts there. Also you know I have a dwarf cleric Madmedic but rough class to get items for further down the line. Caster classes like Necro or mage are where you can duo or solo items you want. The problem I’ve found on Quarm is to many people are locking down camps soloing thus making it difficult for none solo classes to get camps or level without full groups which sucks. My Troll warrior is an example just stuck at level ten due to lack of groups needing me.

Great server Bob for the original experience. Not perfect but stick with it. I am sure you will love it and make some great videos on Quarm

man does looking at this bring back memories. My first time playing, day of release, I grouped up with someone right where you killed the large rat. I remember he told me he was from Britain which blew my mind. Much later on I came back to kill that priest of discord. Hovering over the water using rings of levitation and my cleric friend logging in at like 3 am and then just killing the priest of discord over and over.

What I've found I enjoy on quarm is the solo self found hardcore. You will die no doubt but you pick yourself up and do it better next time. Crafting leather. Taking advantage of local quests and items. I'm doing barbarian shaman and it's a blast.

I’m very interested in a Ranger, as it was my original class, but I quit before Luclin. A Ranger in Pop/Luclin does sound fun. Maybe Enchanter and Ranger. Ranger for grouping/guilding, Enchanter for solo/funding. Never like grouping an enchanter. Going to give it a couple of weeks, though, too crowded in newbie zones.

its really not so bad if you know the zones well, in most zones people are in the obvious spots. Bandits in Wk for instance, you can get a tonnnn of free camps out east side of the zone
