Call of Karana is a lot better than you think. I've been messing around with a Druid on Live off and on for a while. He is Level 62 now, but I spent most of my mid 50s to current in Chardok because those little wolves are pretty strong and the thing is, every time you fight a mob (even in the dungeon) the first thing you do is root/snare it. You charm a wolfie, toss on regrowth / damage shield / pet haste buffs, then root/rot your target with your new strong dots. The DoT spells and pet melee don't break the root - so if your pet breaks charm it's only your pet attacking you while your kill target remains rooted. You take a few hits while recasting charm but it's not a big deal. Keep your buffs / regrowth up on yourself and it's not threatening at all to take a few whacks. A solo druid is not made of glass like cloth casters are. Yeah I mean I get it - druids are a little weak overall since they're mediocre at everything basically, but they can be pretty if you're using your whole kit. Just a little nitpick - enjoyed the video dude, thanks for the content!

Man your videos helped me first get into TLPs many years ago, the "what spells do buy/avoid", and you're still going - that's great! :) I main Druid on most TLPs, I tried other classes but I keep coming back to the utility. My theory: the main problem with the Druid toolkit, the reason Druids don't really have a niche anymore, is because boxing & alts exist. Druids are a viable solo class and can do farms that other solo classes can't. But if you're a solo player, why would you solo Druid, when you can 3 box? And if you're going to 3 box, you can choose a trinity of classes instead of "master of none" Druid.

You're right. Druids lost all due to plane of knowledge, and spells that other classes overlap with .

I'm a bit confused. The new TEEK will start at lvl 50? Watching your videos over the past week or so has inspired me to breakout EverQues again (it's been 7 years!!). Logged into my most main account and found I had 18 Krono!. Spent one and opened my account. Over the next few days I'm going to get back into the swing of EQ. In the past TLP launches I have played Enchanter, Mage or Shaman. Debating now on Shaman or Enchanter. Thoughts?

It will start at level 1, but open with Kunark unlocked. This will help spread the players out and open up some kunark spells below level 50. I think both are good, but later game and raiding will favor the shaman by a mile since enchanters get weaker after level 60 and you don't need as many per raid.

Will this one also remove the Required Level on equipment, like Vaniki? Edit: My main is an Enchanter, but I have a Level 100 Druid I Heroic'd up, that I played from Level 1 to 67. And, despite my strong natural tendency to Charm, I have NEVER used Beguile Plants. 😂 However, when it comes to AEs like Upheaval, don't discount it out of hand. I used the Level 70+ versions on both my Druid and Cleric to help AE the adds during the Queen Sendai raid; they hit HARD but have next to no HP and die quick, so you don't need 20 Wizards to deal with them. Heck, even my Level 39 Gravity Flux put in work during that event. 😀

Exile Summoned....I've never used it as a Druid. Ever.

Necro video next?!?!?! :D

Hmm, good idea, but wizard is next. The necro gets a LOT of new spells in kunark which makes the class even more powerful, so maybe.

It makes me sad that druids are neglected and so irrelevant. If you're going to make them unwelcome in groups, at least make it so they can kick butt soloing.

At least they still CAN solo. Granted, they've fallen far from their glory days during the EQ Classic era, but so have Enchanters. At least Druids get to travel and see the world, yeah? But seriously, Wrath of the Wild is an absolute gem. Made me very, very glad I never deleted my Druid, even though he became less and less relevant as time went by. 15 years ago, if someone had offered to straight trade me a Magician for my Druid, I'd have taken them up on that in a heartbeat. Not now; instead, I'll just make another toon.
