Also your sound samples included are very much appreciated and well selected. I have EverSolo DMP-A6 ME as streamer, feeding into Gustard R26 or SMSL SU-10 (depending on the genre of music), and I am still very happy with that combination.

Hey, one point that might need clarifying for your viewers is while the “subwoofer” labeled outputs may not work when you are using the unit with an analog input and as an analog preamp, one can still connect their subwoofer(s) to the extra set of RCA or balanced outputs and the signal will pass to the subwoofer like any typical analog preamp output.

Hi Sean, thanks for input I totally forgot to mention about it, yes A10 has 10 db gain in pure analog mode, it work great with RCA out with Sub unlike in A8, we just have to select both Analog out (XLR & RCA) in Source menu. Thanks

How does it sound in comparison with the Gustard X30 to your ears? If the sound samples are comparable relative to the sources, for the given recordings I like the DMP-A10's sound quite a bit more than the X30, even though the X30 went extra length to maximize the performance with 4 ES9039SPro DACs.

I would love it if they released a DMP-A4: a streamer box without a screen, featuring digital software for the digital outputs and an ok dac. When connected to the same Wi-Fi network, it could access other EverSolo devices, such as the DMP-A6/8/10, and stream music stored on those devices when ripped from CD.

You'd be missing the point entirely of the A10, and subsequently wasting your money. The DAC implementation in the A10 is excellent - and is part of the reason why it costs nearly twice as much as the A8. Using it purely as a transport won't bring significant gains, if any, over the A8.

At half the price I will stick with my A8 with AKM chips. Don’t need sub outs as they can be connected to my E4000 pre outs.

@ why though? Take the A6, remove the DAC section and BOOM it’s a steaming transport and could sell for less. They could even improve the power supply and internal parts and sell it for the same price as the A6 and give people a choice.

@sean_heisler transports are usually high-end items. If they release one it likely won't be cheap. Doubt they would add another SKU to make a lower profit item. Plus they probably get kickbacks for adding that stuff, like smart tvs do.

Great review. Will separate DAC be obsoleted in the future? I find Eversolo packs too many things in one box. Or they just want people to use their product and just add a power amplifier? Interesting to see how the trend will be like in the future for audiophiles. I personally use their A6 connected to a separate DAC in one of my rooms.

Yes you just have to set Gain to FIXED it will only function in digital side.

hi I've had some really good results I just experimented a couple days ago, using a digital output source I used a cat5 or you could use cat 6 100 ohm lead, connecting my digital source what is CD player to a DAC any digital source would do didn't have to be CD player. has made a big difference much more natural sounding. I would like you to try it out give me your opinions as well you can make leads so you shouldn't have a problem, just make sure the cat lead that is 100 ohms you can get 120 ohms might be worth trying I haven't got that might work better?? give it a go let me know what you think make sure it is a digital out not an analogue out got to be digital to digital. the length of lead I had and used was 2ft.8"I just used the one lead that had four connectors groups, I didn't separate not sure if that would help or not? anyway cheers let me know if you do it definitely should try it made a big improvement more analogue sounding.

When you mentioned analog - in pure analog domain, you obviously skip how this sounds as a pure analog preamplifier. This Is very important! In addition, you didn't mention if the A10 can do both single and balanced output at the same time if I want to bi-amp. Sure, the single out may have a few dB less output than the balanced's. I can use a good quality integrated amp to compensate for this. I am using a Bricasti dac that has discrete single ended output stage and a discrete balanced output. If the A10 only got a discrete balanced output, and used the pin 2 of it to drive single ended output, it is no good to use both single and balanced output at the same time.
