I agree season 1 is by far the weakest. But it’s not a bad season of tv. It really shows a lot about the characters and allows them to develop in front of us.

Yeah, truly I didn't dislike S1, I find it to be a bit *slow* compared to other S1's. But it's fun to watch still. I enjoy it

I think it's a pretty good introduction to the characters we will see grow throughout the show. A lot of important things are set up and introduced but I agree on liking later seasons more

I'd absolutely love to see more Bojack reactions, I can't get enough of these! This show evolves a lot and has some amazing character arcs, even for those who seem incredibly silly at first. I find it always fascinating to watch peoples' changing perception of the characters and the show as a whole as it progresses. But your reaction to the next two episodes (7&8) will tell if it's the right show for you. Those two are most representative out of season 1 for the path this show is gonna take. For me personally, S2E7 was the moment the show went from good to God-tier. And it never looked back.

1. I think you're underestimating the continuity. You can even see the slight variation in the animations during the title song. Also the side characters grow up or have major roles in future, like something in Zoes and Zeldas or Prickly Muffin 🙂 2. There are a lot more flashbacks than someone would expect. 3. The details in the animation frames are like Easter bunnies (correction: eggs) and stuff like news headlines are punny. 4. I didn't get engrossed in it until some later episodes. 5. Todd may be a pacifist and hence the "jokes", it doesn't speak to the politics of the show. Cheers! And welcome to the world of Bojack. 1. Bojack's burnt ottoman might be my favorite S1 continuity detail. It gets burned by Sarah Lynn in episode 3 and remains burnt for the entire season until it is explicitly discussed that it got thrown out for a brand new couch.

Everyone seems to believe the show infinitely picks up after S1 so I'll definitely be giving it another season! Honestly, I think Mr PB is just so in lalaland, that he's just not capable of seeing why someone wouldn't like something. I'm not sure if that's the best wording but ya haha

Episode 8 (or perhaps the *very last line* of Episode 7) is where this show really starts to show the cards it's got up its sleeves, IMO. Sometimes it's difficult to convince people to hang on until then, but you're pretty much there now. If you've finished Episode 8, then I'm guessing you're already finding the show considerably more intriguing/promising than you were before. Season 1 is generally considered the weakest season, largely due to the slog of these first 6 episodes, which tend to rate the lowest when people sit down to rank their faves. Seasons 2--4, on the other hand, are spectacular.
