Rick attempting suicide at the end there is always emotional to see, despite knowing his past, and it serves as character development. I also like the moment where he showed genuine concern for Morty's and Summer's safety.
@EversPrimeTime2 жыл бұрын
Yesss. We ALWAYS see Rick being outlandish and in charge and then to see him like that was just 🥺 it's always nice when he shows concern, it seems like it happens a bit more than you'd expect. But only in very small ways, it helps me believe he's not 100% destructive 😂

This is the first time Rick has ever been so vulnerable, arguably surpassing his near sacrifice at the start of the season. On an unrelated note, I feel like the writers have started to get a good balance on Summer's screentime and lines by this point.

In hindsight I should've known the episode ended in heartbreak 😓 but it was interesting to see Rick like that. I agree, the next two episodes too also have a lot more Summer, I feel like she's not been given time to tell her story really.

Jerry is such an idiot, even when he's right he manages to miss the point completely, and that's why he's my favourite character.

I didn't see it mentioned, and I know I'm months late, but he tested the evaporation device thing on that creature, which was frozen, that's perpetually in pain, then tried to use it on himself. He tried to commit suicide, he was just too wasted to sit up straight for it.

In a way, I also like Unity bc even though everyone is part of it, I feel like she knows what their true desires are and makes that a reality for them, even though they might not be aware of it. Like the woman who was a drug addict on the verge of unalive. Who's to say her dream wasn't to be a marine biologist? But life and your own sentience and the sentience of others can get in the way of the things we dream of doing. Like idk, if it was guaranteed to be temporary, if I could have someone take the wheel and help me achieve the dreams that others and life has beaten down and soiled, I would. I get in my own way a lot bc all I hear in my head is every person who said it can't be done, no one would care, I'm wasting my effort, etc and I just freeze up. If there was someone else inside me who could bypass that and make my aspirations a reality, then I can be at peace with that.

Maybe it's an issue of pride? Our Rick wasn't initially able to cure the Cronenberg virus, but another Rick did; a Rick that managed to get himself killed due to a mistake that our Rick avoided. Maybe our Rick kept it to prove to himself that he was also just as capable as that moron And now, faced with "actually" committing suicide, he figured he'd euthanize the creature to finally put it out of his misery. Or maybe so neither of them would have to die alone? Just some speculation though
@sirweebs29142 жыл бұрын
@@SunsetSass Hard to believe that he didn't managed to cure it after a while. And seems like he was emotionally attached to it as he was petting it and comforting it while beeing very emotional himself. It's not like Rick does this often. I'm genuinely curious what execatly is the background of that.. I'm sure there has to be some explanation other then his pride at work.

I keep trying but... I don't think I can enjoy these reactions. I'm pretty sure complaining about Summer is just a running joke but it makes it very annoying to watch. Like, you don't have to like every character. Nobody asked you to. But no, this wouldn't have been the same at all. Most of Morty's revelations about it are only because of Summer, and he would've obviously handled it quite differently. Summer is a far better character than Morty, but yes, it's a matter of opinion. But if you can't be bothered waiting for episodes to center around her (and complain when they do), there's no point still talking about her. Because we got it from the previous 14 episodes, where you tee-hee over how pointless she is and yet somehow like Jerry, who's done a lot less. Your interest in this series seems... limited at best, even ignoring the Summer thing. So if that's the case, I would recommend you milk something else for ad revenue. Something that makes more sense. And that you pay attention to. This has been half the content on your channel and you don't care at all. Your only response to Rick trying to kill him self was giggling and saying "Oh, okay... Aww. I feel bad. I shouldn't, but I feel so bad" and then not even mentioning it during your 'thoughts' and outro. But obviously managing to fit in the much more important fact that you don't like Summer.
@EversPrimeTime2 жыл бұрын
This reads pretty aggressive over something that is entirely subjective. Let me hit you with my main points... 1. I don't always know what to say because I'm new to "reacting" I just genuinely like watching. Which is why I don't say much about Rick. Expressions speak louder than words imo. Not to mention, I can see how many people watch the outro, it's not a lot, so I keep them short. 2. Summer has not been given any time to develop, until she has, what else would I think of her? 3. I don't get ad revenue 4. I actually enjoy the series, so I'll continue to watch and make these videos. I don't even know how you get the idea my interest is limited.. Genuinely though, I'm sorry that you don't like my take on Summer. But until I see some actual development or adventuring from her, which I believe actually happens in EP 6, I'm just giving my initial thoughts. With all that said, I'll keep this opinion in mind and try to be easier on the characters 🙂
