One of the first games my Dad took me to. Remember we got the 82c on St Mary's Road on the first leg of the journey. Bob Latchford- what a player. Happy times and memories. God bless you Dad.

Thomas is the greatest ever crosser of a ball. Next to him, Trevor Steven, my favourite ever Everton player!

I was at this game and to this day I say Dave Thomas gave one of the greatest wing display's I've ever seen.

I was 14 standing in my parka at the front of the Park End with my dad sitting upstairs. Latchford's 3rd was right in front of me. Remember it like it were yesterday.

Iconic game for Evertonians of my generation.Dave Thomas,what a winger he was,he had the shite kicked out of him that day! Seem to remember Coventry were a decent side in those days,Wallace,Mick ferguson etc...hope they bounce back from their current troubles.

That Coventry kit ! Latchford's best ever season. Not an Everton fan but always rated Dave Thomas for Burnley, QPR, Everton and England. Great crosser with either foot.

Great Everton side that sadly underachieved. Should have won the cup in 77 and the league in 78
@turboearl88584 жыл бұрын
vordman arguably should of won the domestic cup double in 77, robbed in the semis.

That wasn't a bad season. Champions League by todays standard. The year Latchford got his 30. We put 6 past Chelsea the same season

The great days when the top division in England had overwhelmingly British players, not the bunch of overpaid foreign prima donnas/mercenaries there are now.

Lovely memories. Bit unlucky that season were the Blues. Wouldn't mind some of that spirit against West Ham tomorrow...

it was a shame that Bob Latchford never got to play in a World Cup for England

Why wasn't Dave Thomas an England great?
@martinkulkarni35693 жыл бұрын
Because he didn’t play for the scum or Man Utd or the London teams!

Maybe a factor that Revie travelled to Dave’s home in Co Durham to sign him for Leeds but was sent packing as Thomas has already pledged to sign his first pro’ contract for Burnley. Revie’s time in charge with England coincided with Dave’s great spell at QPR. It looked personal to me.
