Thank goodness for some rational sense from Gavin. Going hung ho against City is ludicrous with our attack and how good we are defensively in a mid block. 38 points keeps you up every year. Draws are vital against good teams and we will pick up wins here and there. Talking about Ipswich, Wolves, Leicester suddenly going mad is silly. They are all appalling defensively. You stay up by having a good defence.

Who's the guy who hates Dyche and loves Calvert-Lewin here? It's just annoying listening to him now. I might give myself a couple of weeks off because he's just wrong and it's really starting to grate.

Dyche is aiming for defensive solidity for points, aiming for draws to stay up. Pedalling the “Oh what a hard job I have” (on my £5 million salary). “Everton can’t win games with the squad we have”(or is it I have). He looking at his next job not this one. There will be no pub named after him on Merseyside. Set up to win, set up to strive forward up the league NSNO. I’d rather 4 wins in 12 than 4 0-0 draws. We’re just drifting through. It’s disgusting.

If Dyche did the opposite and attacks teams to gain points we would be relegated by now. We’ve gone 190+ mins against the 2nd/3rd best teams in the country without conceding a goal. A lot of that id down to a very good manager. We need to play to our strengths. We have a top 6 defence and probably the worst attacking unit in the league.

@@MartinGreen932 why do we have the worst attack. Is it the players or the set up. We have a top headerer of the ball who under carlo was banging them in when he was fit. Players who can deliver, players who can beat men. Dom is always isolated. The Bournemouth Game was the best attacking we’ve done and should have had more. Dyche is finally learning about his subs this season and during up. The tactics vs Arsenal and Chelsea were spot on as they have way more quality. But we play the same against teams we should be in the front foot against. It’s no surprise where we are the way we play. 8 wins in 12 months. If the board in place now was there this time last year we would have a new manager. It’s not acceptable for the ambition of the club to accept mediocrity and pedal it as success. This is just my opinion and I accept yours we will just have to disagree. I worry for the January window. I feel the signing we want and need long term (younger players with a profile for a style we don’t have) won’t get onto the pitch if we sign them.

@@timdavis5220We had the 4th best defence last season and the 5th this. We were the 2nd worst attacking team in the league last season and the same now. We have zero attacking full backs, we have zero creative centre mids. McNeil is our most productive player but it is from set pieces and long shots. N’Daiye can beat a player but 2 goals and zero assists in half a season tells its own story. DCL is a good target man but poor finisher. Harrison, Beto, Linstrom nowhere near what we need.
