About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Incredible presentation about deeply distressing part of society that is getting worse---evil that is there that we can actually do something about is incredible. Matt's presentation is thoughtful, compassionate, and compelling---how do you respond to lives of real people in incredible need with almost no power to help themselves. Yes huge amount about who we are and why we do anything. Are we here for our own enjoyment? or to do things with an eternal purpose and love of others? Thanks, Matt!

I heard Matt Friedman last evening at my church, Cedar Springs Presbyterian, in Knoxville, TN. Everyone should get involved in stopping this terrible, sinful kind of trafficking.

"There are more slaves today than there were in the history of the earth" Well. If you count the African slave trade from 1450-1900 as the history of the earth, yes. But a large percentage of people in all of history were slaves, so the historic figure is much bigger.

Regardless. The amount today is atrocious and going on undercover. "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."
