To eliminate flipping of the Z06 all GM has to do is to make the initial purchase a 1 year lease and then you can buy it out after the 12 months. This will eliminate flippers from the market place

First I have heard of a dealership in California charging $150 to see a ZO6. I have been to two dealerships showing the ZO6 at no charge.

I don't blame the flippers, I blame the dealers charging 50-100K over list. At that price, I would be looking at Ferrari or Porsche. 200K plus on a Z06 would have to severely limit production to 1K units to get into that price range.

@@dlang1009 I agree completely. I've bought multiple vehicles and only paid sticker for one, It's my c8. I'm sure when you are interested in buying from a dealership charging over MSRP you don't patronage them. I've never known anyone buying a vehicle with a gun pointed at them by the salesman. Free to choose if it's worth it to them. Never been worth it to me.

I hate to say this, what Chevrolet needs to do is the same thing that Ford did with The GT. Make you sign for two years that you are not allowed to sell your Corvette, that will definitely stop the flippers from doing what they are doing right now. As a long time Corvette owner that disgraces me.

I think the rewards is for the Z only. I just ordered and received a '22 Colorado that was built in late June and delivered in July. I got my points but it wasn't that large amount. BTW, it goes with my '22 C8......... Also, I had a CTF '20 Stingray vin 000355 and got it with 58 miles on it.

I hear you, with that being said the dealership is in the business to make money. They also have a lot of overhead to maintain and pay for. If I were in the business. Why would I want to sell these cars to someone that will make a fast buck with little to no investment in the transaction. Unfortunately the way the market is right now, I too would be riding the wave. Sorry it's just the reality of this screwed up world we are living in today.

@@miked184 I think the real problem we have with this new Corvette is that it's bringing in a whole new customer. One that is used to spending sometimes 2 to 3 times more for the price of a super car. So even at 30 to 50k over msrp they feel like it's a bargain. The problem we are all feeling now is that it's harder for us blue collar buyer's to get into this market with the low production numbers and big demand for the C8 Zo6.

Good luck with GM rewards. I finally got my c8 on the 22nd of July. Tried redeeming my gm rewards took over an HR on phone between my salesman and myself. Used GM rewards multiple times in the past and only took a few minutes each time. The worst part of the buying process easily, except maybe the second price increase that my dealership passed to me. Fun car btw

How do you find out where a Z06 is going to be on display at a dealer? I've seen them but would not mind seeing others. Saw the one at Connell Chevrolet in California and not that many people were there on the second day. I hung around a long time and was told by one of the representatives that Chevy is not advertising the showings but letting the dealers do it. He said at that time he was going to San Diego County next then on vacation and someone else would be taking over and he had no info to tell me after that. The car was the yellow Z07 that Leno drove in his video.

John you are O so correct. What we are seeing is a whole new class of buyer with the new C8. These guys are used to spending 2 to 3 times more for a super car. The Corvette is now a bargain in their eyes. So bumping the price up 30 to 50k is not a deal breaker to them. On the down side what's happening is the average blue collar Joe is getting priced out of the market and having a difficult time keeping up with the price increase.

Seems like Rick has shown a few models priced just a bit higher than new. I didn't watch the info on them I assumed they were used c8's priced above original MSRP. I'm not mad at him or the dealership he works for. Just send off some of his comments about others doing whats being done by his dealership.

@@ppeller3 Im blue collar and waited 18 months to get mine at MSRP. MSRP has gone up about 5k more than when I placed order in early 2021. First Corvette for me as it is a more affordable than a 2005 NSX that is unlikely to ever enter my garage. When I do sell my c8 I certainly hope it'll be worth at least what I paid.

I learned from watching you and a few others that the selling dealership didn't have to pass along the price increase if you were accepted prior to June 14th. My dealership didn't give a ph**c and I understand why. Just doesn't set right with me I bought my 19 Camaro SS from them. This will be my last purchase from them. I’m afraid that the corvette market is about to collapse. There are over 400 certified corvettes for sale in the United States right now. That’s a huge amount of inventory that includes the C7 and C8. Many of the listed cars have been marked down. The average production for corvettes is about 25k per year. Sales of the C8 fell 8% in the last quarter.

I suspect these flippers are not car enthusiasts and certainly not Corvette enthusiasts. They view any automobile as an appliance and it will take strong action from GM to stop it, such as what Ford did with the GT.

MAny of the "Flippers" are NOT going to drive them, because the extremely low miles ADD to the Re-Sell price... 500 miles will knock Thousands off the sell price...
