@ooneybird27
@ooneybird27 2 күн бұрын
@@PSpringfield Honestly, Hyundai was doing so well until they bought Kia, then quality and build issues began surfacing in both lines of vehicles. I have a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe that's still my daily driver with 354K miles on it. I bought a 2015 Hyundai Elantra as a new car for my wife. The head gasket blew at 13K miles. But even before the engine blew, the automatic transmission had already started slipping on hills at around 10K miles. The car had 6 miles on it at delivery. My wife wasn't a lead foot either. I couldn't tell you how many warning citations she's gotten for driving too slow on the freeway (45 when the speed limit is 65). It was a very nice car inside & out, but the mechanical end of it blew *ss. The big selling point for them is cost. You'll pay from $27-30K for a Kia/Hyundai SUV when the same size Chevy, GM, or Buick SUV is going for $40-42K. With interest rates today, a $12-15K difference is big savings both on the monthly payment & over the length of the loan. In 2015, I bought my wife an Elantra & my daughter a Hyundai Accent. Both cars together were just under $30K, which was cheaper than one Chevy Malibu. And their 10-year/100K mile bumper-to-bumper warranty isn't anything to sneeze at either. Last, they're the only cheap automotive maker who still has a line of 4 different tiers of cars while the Big 3 are phasing theirs out. That's why you're seeing more & more of Kia and Hyundai on the road. They're the only ones still listening to what the public wants/needs.

Pulled in to Subway restaurant today. Six EV cars were plugged in, mostly Tesla cars and one Tesla Truck. We waited in line thru the drive thru, ordered our food, picked up our food, ate our food in Subway's parking lot and 5 out of 6 vehicles were still sitting there charging. And I think pulling into a gas station and taking five minutes to fill up on gas is annoying...

Where I live, tows are a flat $150. So it would be an equal cost whether you fully charged your EV at one of these stations or towed it. And with a tow, you're not adding any wear & tear to your vehicle. What a joke. Toyota finally found out what's nuking their V6 engines in the Land Cruisers & the Lexus SUVs. The main bearing guides were being rough ground, leaving gouges & spurs in the guide channels, and nuking the main bearings in short order. Talk about complete lack of QC. I think that's what's happening to everything from Toyotas to Boeing planes. No pride in their workmanship & cutting costs by doing away with QC.

In Tennessee, superchargers charge by the minute at 4 price tiers. They do charge more for minutes you are pulling more power, BUT you’ll be charged less per kWh during the more expensive minutes. This encourages folk to charge more efficiently to maximize availability of the chargers.

FEDEX cargo 767-3S2F, 6.2 years old, sounds like a maintenance issue to me. Nose wheel failed . The 737, Pilot was aborting the takeoff when it overran the end of the runway and caught fire. I'm not a Boeing apologist, I just think that the companies and pilots operating these aircraft should be held up for scrutiny as well. It's easy to blame Boeing because their name is on it but Boeing isn't responsible for maintenance. The 737-300 (last produce in 1999) belonged to a charter company, renting it to Air Senegal. Who knows who the pilots were employed by? Every problem that pops up isn't instantly Boeings fault or problem, but the news organizations automatically throw shade in every instance. Maybe they should take a little undeserved heat, but it's not informative to the public. It gets clicks though.

You are correct... Ford, Gm and Chrysler are the government owned companies for the War machine... as during WW1-WW2 our factories were but with ZERO EPA Admissions which polluted underground rivers, towns and the lands around them for the " WARS " Yet they were allowed to continue until the pollution was exposed and was killing entire populations in each areas of such factories... Then we lost our all our factories, they were paid to be shipped out of the country instead of building new ones in America destroying the economy and our way of life ( wage freezes, office morons that were brainwashed to except 15 dollars an hr, construction died and now here we sit on the Slum lord corporation run America )... I expect a new war to begin within the next 1-10 years and the big 3 will be building new war machines once again with Zero EPA restrictions again and the cycle continues... I study the past to predict the future...

Tesla Model Y owner. Here’s some honest numbers. Tesla charges $0.39 per KWh at Super Chargers. I get about 4 Miles per KWh in my Tesla. To go 30 miles costs about $2.92. Not big savings. The savings is when I charge at home. I pay $0.18 cents per KWh at home. I go 2,000 miles a month and spend $130 extra on my electricity. Gas would probably be 50% more or double depending on mileage. I wouldn’t own any EV other than Tesla. Scotty is Right. Electrify America Chargers at $0.60 per KWh in my area and COST MORE THAN GAS. Any other EV is a joke. Tesla is the only one that’s doing it (sort of) right.
