So true. Most of these are just "he sees a hole, he runs through it" but Henry's are both contentious until he reaches the goal line pretty much For me, that 99-yarder is the most impressive run in NFL history

Yes Bo was special but truth is Herschel Walker was in fact faster. Herschel ran a 10.23 legal FAT to Bo's 10.44. These are the facts. But Bo seemed to be better for some reason. Bo was a very fluid RB & Herschel was extremely stiff when he ran. Too many push-ups I believe. They said Bo barely worked out.

I was impressed how far down field the lineman #74 was blocking. His last block was like 60-65 yards down field.

@@steveaustin2686 That was Dave Fiore, who was blocking Jets LB Mo Lewis (#57). While Fiore ran untouched until that block downfield, Lewis was held up at the start of the play, only to break free in pursuit of Garrison Hearst.

That last one by Derrick Henry to go 99 was the most impressive to me. He had to break, or stiff-arm his way out of several tackles once it got into the open field. Most of the others, once they broke away they were gone.

Was just thinking the same thing. No disrespect to Dorsett, he broke some tackles too, but Henry was fighting his way down the entire field. You just knew he wasn't going down though. Edit: just comparing the two 99 yarders. I think Hearst has the greatest run here.

@@woozie___ Dorsett didn't facemask anybody ( 12:00 ) on his, though. Also, watch the tight end with the death grip on #50. Were it not for the refs missing two obvious calls against the Titans on the same play, it otherwise would have never happened.

I agree but the garrison hearst one was very very close. Never seen that that before. I think the best of all time was Marshon lynch against the saints when he shedded abt 7 tackles to score.

It's a deceptive speed. Long stride makes him look like he isn't running hard but he is moving. If he wasn't he would be caught.

5:03 Hill is at - pretty much - a dead stop while the HB is nearing full speed. Despite this, Hill overtakes everyone and catches the runner well before the end zone.

Henry's 99 yarder is the GOAT imo but Dorsetts, Bo Jackson's, and Barbers are all impressive in their own rights as well. Bo was insanely fast and Barber had outstanding patience and vision.

I would assume not. Every era has things you could say, " oh so and so is lucky". Horrific tackling or not it's one of the best of all time.

It says something that Bo Jackson had two of these runs with such a short NFL career. I'd give a lot to see what he could have done with 8-9 more seasons. He probably wouldn't have ever been a yardage champion, but he would have had one of the greatest career highlight reels ever.

I watched Bo Jackson as a kid and I guarantee you that he would be within top 3 rushers of all time. He was so fast that he always out run the defense or some cases just run over them. He was a truck on the field

I agree, watching Bo when I was young being dual sport like Deion. I seen him as the better player n Deion was a great athlete but Bo was another level. I’m not sure if correct but he quit cause a freak hip injury. Bo didn’t really train either. He was … he was Bo n Bo knows archery lol

Ah yeah, ask John Lynch about those runs if I'm not mistaken he had opportunities to make a tackle on both of those runs by Barry Sanders, imo he was one of the if not greatest backs of All Time, subpar O line his entire career. Incredible ability to make people miss and not take the big hits, if the Lions had done better in the front office, he would easily have more all time yardage than Emmitt Smith

These are all great runs. Forgot how awesome Bo Jackson was and I always respected Warrick Dunn’s toughness for a guy that was only 185 lbs and managed to play running back for a dozen years in the NFL.

@@Trollololololful You're completely right he wasn't, but when you consider that Charles playing weight was around 195-200lbs and Jordan typical is between 275-285lbs roughly it's a pretty impressive that Cam was able to even get within 10 yards of Charles all things considering.

Damien Williams’ 91 yarder represents 6.5% of his career total. But then again, it’s a rare feat. A 90+ yard run has only happened 37 times in NFL history.

7:18 O.J. Simpson looked like he was running on air. What a smooth stride. EDIT: I wish I could've watched Bo Jackson play. 2:59 He turned the corner and was already full speed. Incredible.

Ahman Green was SO underrated, the man was nothing but SPEED! Look at the way he runs vs other RB's, his head is not moving, it's almost no effort for him to run that 98 yards. My favorite player in the Madden games too, just so freaking fast!

I watched that Tony Dorsett run,what they didn't show was that the nose of the ball was 2 inches from his own goal line,will never forget that run.

The defense on Henry's 99 yd run wasn't nearly as bad as almost every other one of these. He's just such a freak that he's tossing grown men like they're babies to out work them for that 99. What a beast.

Tony Dorsett's 99 yards was with only ten Cowboys on the field, and the play wasn't even supposed to be for him. The guy not on the field was supposed to get it.

That Derrick Henry run was something else. I don't even remember Lamar Miller... There HAVE to be some more 90 yard runs from the last century, when football was more run-oriented.

There was more than a few impressive runs on this list. The one that blew me away was the Garrison Hearst run though. Seemed like he fought for every yard and wouldn’t be denied.

As a Green Bay fan I haven't always enjoyed watching Adrian Peterson run, but what a RB putting in a 90 yard run toward the end of his career. Extremely impressive at the running back position

Believe it. He was the Secretariat of human athletes. You know upon his death the Vet discovered Secretariat had a larger heart than other thoroughbreds. "...Secretariat now has a 28-length lead, he's running like a TREMENDOUS MACHINE!" The same could be said for Vincent Edward "Bo" Jackson in any sport, at any level.

I totally agree, Hearst was really difficult and hard fought, but I think Henry's stiff arm and having to fight off several defensive players was even more difficult. Incredible strength
