You know, Corey, I only found you upon watching some LR Baggs promotional video. I can honestly say that in my 35 years on this earth, I've never searched for an overview/demo for a product, and upon finishing the video, immediately search for the person demonstrating the product... Okay, maybe I did something similar after I saw a late night OxyClean commercial, but Billy Mays was interesting for very different reasons. You've got this trustworthy, relatable (except for owning that 335), and not entitled or affected. For all those reasons, and more, you have earned yourself a subscriber.

The thing is that by the time the Sound Crew of a venue end up miking my amp, the results are not always good. My sound on stage might sound good to me having the amp right by my side but what comes out of the venue PA speaker many times is not of my liking. Again this is just the typical around town venue where you often times have very little time for sound check provided to you. What I have discovered with these new generation of modelers is that if they take me close enough to the sound of my liking they compensate by providing consistent result once you learned to dial it in for live usage. Once you achieve that, the XLR output to the sound crew becomes you best friend and usually the sound becomes more consistent more easily. Obviously pro acts have their own sound crews and have no such concerns but for me going on a few gigs around town, I have learned to appreciate the consistency new modelers bring specially if you find at least 2 or 3 sounds that takes you close enough to what you are looking for.

Great informative video Corey. Also love the concept of not taking money from company to give an unbiased opinion. I’m a low watt tube guy too and I only play in the bedroom so I’m using 1 or 5 watt amps. At the moment I’m using a 5 watt Gibson GA-5 Les Paul Junior amp for my punk rock sound. However, even with my THD Gibson Power Stealth Attenuator it sometimes lacks the tone I like. Now modeler’s like this or my TC Electronic Jims45 are pedals I like for that Marshall sound. And I think I might want one to mix up my options between my tube amp and the Jims 45. As for the IR-2 I liked the Tweed Bassman and Brit Marshall settings. Especially the price point.

Thank you for the awesome live/video! I've read the manual where there are settings for what type of amp/device you plug this pedal into, even settings for plugging into the fx loop vs in front of a 1 x 12 tube amp. Plugging the pedal into the loop of an amp and turning off the cab sim could make sense, however plugging it in front of an amp doesn't make sense to me. I feel like it would fight with the amp's preamp... Would it essentially become an overdrive/distortion pedal in that instance? Also, are those speaker settings in the manual just suggestions to make the pedal sound best on each situation, or will it damage anything if I don't adjust the settings to match whatever I plug it into? I do not have the pedal yet but I am curious about this. In comparison, the Strymon Iridium manual states that you should not plug that pedal into the front of a guitar amp... Thanks again!

Have been very interested in this since it came out being a boss fanboy. I am curious though if it’s compact pedal feel is also one of its downsides especially as many knobs have dual function. Sometimes larger pedals are nice when it comes to the tweaking and reading as they have more space for fiddling around or for even just having extra knobs. I do feel more comfortable with this format though than I am with say the IR-200. At some point, you'll use an overdrive/distortion to achieve these more convincely. Too bad each model can't go from clean to crunch to full blast.
