This has quickly become one of my favorite channels. As an avid lifter and lover of bowhunting, I love you guys bringing a performance based approach to buwhunting. Cam Hanes would approve.

I have found that starting my draw with my bow arm low (about hip height rather than shoulder height) helps me set my shoulder in the socket better. If I drop my shoulder before I raise my bow I am way more steady and my shoulder doesn't collapse.

I've been enjoying watching these vids with the positive info that's being dropped. Maybe in the future, you guys could drop info on shoulder, neck, and head pain from bino harness weight on the shoulder. Even some heavy packs put too much pressure on the shoulders. What's best to strengthen and address that tension in those areas. Mtn Physio, thanks for the knowledge bombs!

Mine was 30 right and 34 left but I'm 6'4 220, 77yrs old. Apt %15, I'm weak. Had Rotator cuff and labrum surgery in 2001, labrum is still damaged but has scar tissue over it. Been doing Rotator cuff exercises three times a week since. Where do I stand, starting exercise every day

My L shoulder is absolute crap, surgery in 2012, injections barely lasting month now. Gonna be pissed if I gotta go to a Xbow. Just got a new (to me) CP28 while I was chilling waiting to heal from neck surgery.

Do you have any recommendations for someone who had two surgeries on their holding arm after it was shattered in two places 11 months ago? I broke my humorous and ulna bone, had two different surgeries and now have two plates and about 30 screws. Would these same exercises work on the arm/shoulder holding the bow rather than drawing it back?

Dang, I’m only 1% 😂. I have a jacked rotator cuff so that’s my excuse. PT trying to fix me. Still shooting my 65# bow.

How can you strengthen your shoulder after having a reverse shoulder replacement?

I dont have shoulder issues, I have elbow issues on my bow arm, when I lock my arm out, the tendons start to hurt after 3 of 4 shots. how do I build the elbow up? I typically wear a brace that all about locks my arm straight.

Don’t lock your bow arm.

Regardless of draw weight my bow arm shakes. How can I strengthen the bow shoulder to help with that?

The bands hanging from that rig in the background are called Crossover Symmetry. They have a kits for shoulders. And there's a bulletproof shoulders training program. It permanently changed my shoulder health. In ways I wasn't sure was possible.

Hey @LemasterDave, a really good workout I would recommend that you can do anywhere is a simple push up, where you extend out with arms fully straight. If done fully, This will activate a muscle called the serratus anterior, which is utilized in the shoulder complex to stabilize and also protract the shoulder. If weakened, you will see that your shoulder blade will stick out from the back of your body. A little bit of this is normal, but a lot of this is a sign of some weakness. Try to strengthen this muscle, and see how that goes!

I don't get it why your shoulder would be healthier if you lost say 25lbs of body fat. I mean, it would obviously be better for you to not be fat, but I don't see the point of comparing physical strength on a scale to body weight, especially if you don't factor in body fat percentage.

So, using a compound bow will eventually cause shoulder problems. You recommend doing specific exercises every day to delay that as much as possible, but using a crossbow is a joke? Seems some people's priorities are out of tune. Wouldn't it be more important to do what you love for as long as you can without causing yourself injury? In some cases, permanent injury.
