The thing about him, is that he brought something entirely his own, to the NRL.

This bloke was special. From the mid to late 2000s he was just about the best baller runner in the comp. Fantastic talent.

Once in a generation player. What most people don't realize is that he was doing all these brilliance while he was still young.

This guy made me fall in love with Rugby League. Growing up we’d always want the “Marshall Haircut”, until our teacher would cut our Mohawk in front of everyone in school lol
@jamieaustin2720Ай бұрын
Benji was untouchable. He took the defence back to the schoolyard. You don’t see players able to do this anymore.

Won the comp and only had 2 rep players. Probably under the salary cap by quite a bit. Played a fast game and trusted the process.

And had Benji in his prime bamboozled the other teams that year

They came 11th in 2006 with them both at Wests so maybe not. Unfortunately the style of rugby league soon changed as people copied the Storm’s wrestling and it didn’t suit free flowing footy as much.

@@Wisey_83tell me which immortals he did more for the game than; Churchill, Rapier, Gasnier, Fulton, Langlands, Lewis, Beetson, Johns, Messenger, Burge, Brown, Provan or Meninga? I bet you didn’t even know who half those people were.
@Wisey_83Ай бұрын
@@theringmaster886 I know who they All are. He's up there man. A whole generation of fans got on board following Marshall. Huge inspiration to many young players coming through right now. If you think that's "nothing", perhaps re think.
@theringmaster886Ай бұрын
@@Wisey_83 Why are you using quotation marks for something I didn’t say lol. Nobody said that Marshall is “nothing”. He was a great player. But he’s not an immortal. Lockyer. Cronk, Thurston, DCE, Munster all better players than him, without even discussing the likes of Langer, Stuart, Daley etc. None of those guys are immortals (yet) and they all achieved more in the game playing in the halves. Immortal is a title reserved for the very very elite careers.

This tigers team will beat the shitty Broncos and Panthers of the 2020s era. Look they, tend to create something out of nothing and this is rugby - Step+Speed+Power not this shitty stuff we now watch in 2020s where NRL players take advantage on penalties to score tries...😂 It was the 2000s that we used to enjoy Rugby League with all these talents (Benji Marshall, Greg Inglis, Billy Slater, Jarryd Hayne, Darius Boyd, Nathan Merrit, Adam Reynolds, Brett Stewart, Steve Matai) Gone are the days... Thanks KZbin for reminding us. 😔
