Nippon. The cracks you see may be crazing. It's normal for old porcelain. Awesome haul.

H-town! Did you come here? Love that you find some good stuff at the bins where you are. Here in Houston where we live I've only gone to them a couple of times, and they are pretty junkie .

Well Robyn, I was just taking a drink of my chocolate milk when you started to sing to the "poop" stuffy and started choking, then you found the "you know what" as I was taking another swig and that I spit out all over. Boy you make me laugh. Lol

Sorry for the higher price on the Fisher Price house!! Good vintage finds. Always get the older Cabbage Patch dolls. Someone might want to clean them up. Marcia

Hey Robyn, love your Houston Texas shirt. That's my neck of the woods. I don't blame you for being pissed too about the FP house. They are too greedy. There's no reason they should charge any more than $10. Ugh! You still got some good items.

I’ve read about porcelain china marked NIPPON with 2 p’s. NIPPON was another name for Japan. NIPPON china was made in Japan and imported to the US between 1891 and 1921. Google the McKinley Tariff Act. Dr. Lori has a website and KZbin videos as well. P.S. I also found the same backmark online, but they didn’t name the maker or artist.

Nippon was the name of Japan before WWII. It doesn't add any more value to the piece. Moriagae is the porcelain extra design on the outside of the vase. Idk if that piece will bring that high of a price but good luck. Kewpie is pronounced cupee like cupid. Lol

BTW, I forgot to point out yesterday the Scarecrow girl! That was super as you were heading out the door you were able to grab her. She is really adorable! WOW! you got a lot of beautiful old items! The strawberries are gorgeous! It says Occupied Japan, which means its dated 1945-1952. Occupied Japen was when the United States occupied Japen right after the war was over. There are collectors out there who collect occupied Japna items. The flower salt and pepper set is another gorgeous little set! WOW! The Lusterware bird condiment set is beautiful! That is really old! Its from the 1920s-1930s. The toy toaster is adorable and vintage!! The airplane in the box is super! The Squish mallow mouse I think is a character from the Nutcracker. The mouse is super! Nippon ware! The poster on this comment thread made a good point, there are fakes out there, so you have to be careful. However, Nippon ware is really collectable and very, very beautiful. As you found out, pieces can sell for 100 dollars or much more. The party noise makers are super! They are old and special! I love the old designs on them. The old Halloween one sounds super cute. The squirrel is super cute! I love squirrels! The kewpie doll! They are so cute! They are collectable. Jelly cat!! always adorable! Good for you for speaking up on the price of the Fisher Price doll house! That is completely insane illogical thinking! They don't make sense! They are losing it with those insane prices! That was a blast of fun! Thanks for super magical trip to the BINS! Best to you and your family!

And yea it’s pronounced Nip-pon. You said it right girl. And it means Japan. And it was put on porcelain after 1891 before 1921 for the McKinley Tariff Act. Basically a tax. You’ll see stuff marked with their country of origin like popular ones are Nippon, Prussia, Czech Germany. Anyway just a history lesson. Also a lot of it is fake out there. So hold it up to the light and you should be able to kind of see the light thru it a bit. Not always straight see thru but somewhat transparent. So you’ll know what to look for in the future. Now you know why I always want you to look thru the glass woman!!! 😂😂
