Cyryl Nah, the two main characters have issues both as well. Asta is too much of an airhead, and therefore, too reckless for his own good. Also, him being book-dumb prevents him from using anti-magic to its fullest potential, since the best way to optimally use anti-magic is to understand magic in its entirety, which Asta can't do because he can barely write. Yuno, on the other hand, is drunk with power, to the extent that he is also reckless in a different type of way.

I kinda noticed that the Black Bulls’ (not sure about other squads) magic abilities are the opposite of their actual personality and a reflection of their outward personality and how society sees them. Asta has no magic power and is all about hard work, and kindness. But his magic swords can destroy all the hard work his opponent put into developing their techniques, and are the most aggressive and anti-friend ability. Gauche uses mirrors, and seems vain as he doesn’t connect to with anyone except Mary, while in actuality, nothing he does is selfish and it’s all for Mary. Luk looks happy and bubbly but deep down he’s empty and utterly dark and single-minded, and NOT static like lightning. Vanessa seems like the type to connect with people really easily(like how strings hold stuff together) when in actuality she didn’t tell anyone about her past until Asta broke his arms. I mean you have the most fabulous hairdo in anime, Martin Luther King Jr, another actually useful female character, a cripple who really deserves all of the things that happened to him, until he became a likeable character (also don't forget about "Here's my real name. " "Oh cool this is my fettish.") And of course, the guy who sleeps under mattresses, then sees a girl drowning and thinks she just wanted some pressure over her to go to sleep. Also there's a great scene where he's looking for someone so he throws off the covers of the bed she was sleeping in, but THEN he checks between the mattresses which is just genius. Point is, there's plenty of material there for a video.

Vantastic Jackson Vanessa, hands down. Her magic is just so much more overpowered, and she has also never technically lost. She basically carries the entirety of the Black Bulls in every fight that happens ever since she obtained this power. She can tank and avoid literally any attack out of sheer willpower. She can warp reality itself if it means protecting herself and her friends. We also have seen she has stupid mana endurance, her mana lasts longer than that of most mages. So, while Cana could win by outlasting Vanessa, that is the problem: I really doubt she could outlast Vanessa.

I honestly don't get all the hate Black Clover and Fairy Tail got/get. Ya they're generic shonen on the surface but when you get past the tropes and just get invested in the characters they're actually really fun to watch. They know they're stupid and that's why they're good dammit. They don't take themselves too seriously and the know the real reason any one actually fucking watches shonen anime for, anyway is for the fights, and to see the characters grow over time. If it has a super deep story cool but let's be honest the real fun part about shonen are the badass fight scenes.

Josh Bolack I think this is pretty spot on. He’s from a somewhat noble family I believe and since families in black clover usually have the same magic, their name probably comes from the magic they use.
