In case you missed the description, this is a compilation that takes my big "EVERY Captain America EVER!" video and makes it even more in depth by replacing the sections about Isaiah Bradley, USAgent, and Hawkeye with the dedicated videos that I did on them, now with upscaled comic scans, some tighter editing to meet my current standards, and ZERO sponsors. Don't worry, compilations aren't going to be a common occurrence and they won't flood your sub-feed. This is just an experiment that I wanted to run.
@jalapenoofjustice46826 ай бұрын
I don't mind getting a few of these in my sub feed, but I would appreciate if the title of the video made it clear that this is a compilation. That way I don't have to click on the video just to confirm that I don't want to watch it.

My personal opinion on the Steven Rogers American revolution Captain America is that he is maybe Steve's distant uncle like one branch of the family went to America or while the other stayed in Ireland
@stevencooper5646 ай бұрын
That actually makes perfect sense.
@louurich90876 ай бұрын
No. In a holiday special, Steve goes to visit his grandfather’s cabin, where he is told his family owned the home, and we’re part of the Underground Railroad. The Irish immigrant thing is just a product of bad editing. The funny thing is, they could have made just his mom an immigrant…Rogers is after all an English name, not Irish… and not lost anything. Or fallen into stereotypes of his alcoholic father being Irish. Also, Steve’s mom could have been Polish, Russian or German, more deeply connecting him with anti-Nazi sentiment. The Irish were actually pretty cool with the Nazis.

@@louurich9087 WWII certainly seemed to have a lot of siding with the enemy of people that people didn't like. Like how Japan only even joined the Axis because China and their allies (including the US, our military was only involved in WWII because they were meddling in Japan's invasion of China. Though to be fair, it was partially the fault of our military that this happened in the first place as the US was involved in forcing open Japan's borders, which lead to Japan realizing they had no trade power and thus sought to obtain it through military power) joined the allied powers.

I still have a personal issue with that. Two active characters with the same moniker. At the same time. I thought it was an unwritten rule in comics. Ben Reilly became Spider-Man after Peter Parker retired. Took up the role when Ben died. Jean-Paul and Dick Grayson was Batman only when Bruce wasnt able or around to be Batman. They gave it up when Bruce resumed. Alan Scott eventually had a name change. Julia Carpenter was Spider Woman when Drew was in sort of character limbo and not active as SW. When Drew became active as SW again Carpenter changed her name. The Green Lanterns and Novas are exempt from this in my eyes as those are Titles not Identities. Having 2 Spidermen Hawkeyes Wolverines Cap Americas is just lame and uncreative.

Considering Spirit of 76...in the 70's DC had a comic called the Freedom Fighters which was a team based on some Golden Age heroes. In one issue they fought a team of heroes called the Crusaders. They were a loose parody of the Invaders. So a few months later over at Marvel, the Invaders fought their "Crusaders" who were a spoof of the Freedom Fighters. So Spirit of 76 is actually a parody of DC's Uncle Sam character. ( I might have the publishing history backwards )

I always thought there was a lot that could have been done with the William burnside captain America. Because I find him to be an interesting and tragic character, that he was something of a mix between Hugo danner from gladiator and cesare from caligari. A man who just wanted to use his abilities for the betterment of the world but after frequent rejection because of politics he had to be aimless and a bit rouge. Then because of horrible side effects of an incomplete super soldier process he lost his mind, became a brainwashed pawn for what he wanted to fight against and eventually went rouge again becoming a villain by choice due to political dissonance because he was a man of yesterday Steve was able to avoid being.
