Papers were literally confused how in the world West Ham managed to secure Tevez and Mascherano that summer, they were both hot south american prospects and tipped to leave Chorintians and join champion league clubs, or at least clubs fighting for champions league spot. People were confused they came straight to premier league, bypassing Spain and somehow to West Ham.

Tevez was my idol when I was young, he gave us pure glory in his younger days while playing for Boca Juniors. I followed his path with great passion at West Ham, that goal against Manchester was a miracle, only Carlos could pull that up. I still remember Alex Ferguson trying to win the game by putting on the pitch Rooney and Ronaldo who were at the bench. That game I suffered like it was my team about to lose the division, and it was because I love Tevez, and him losing was West Ham losing. I couldn't be more happy for Tevez and the team. I still hold West Ham in my heart, although I haven't followed them that much since Carlos left for Man United.

For people who dont know this player was an illegal player for west ham. He was registered through deception. When the premier league found out about the deception west ham were fined £5.5 Million. Not only this but the team who should should have stayed up (Sheffield United) sued west ham and succeeded. West ham paid over £15 M to Sheffield United in compensation.
