Not surprised at all to see both Plymouth and Portsmouth in the top four. Both similar hard working dockyard towns with loud fans home and away. Leeds hard to top. Haven’t been to Bramall Lane since the 80s so can’t comment but Yorkies love their sports more than most

FYI Ben, Millwall has no plans to move to a new stadium. Ideas and projects are being developed and evaluated to redevelop the area around the current stadium which may include some expansion and changes to The Den, but it is all some years off.

Can't believe I'm defending Coventry here, but putting them down there is insane. Their fans both home and away always bring the noise. Going to their ground, you're guaranteed a lot of fan to and fro and that corner by the away fans are mental. The stadium itself isn't that great, so maybe that's factored in, but as this is atmosphere I'd put them near the top for sure. Having said that, they're not doing great this season and I haven't been so perhaps it's dropped off somewhat. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ridiculous survey rating for QPR. Loftus Road always has amazing atmosphere for both home and away fans. The facilities are 1960 like so maybe it’s biased towards that.

Big games Boro turn up and the whole stadium can get rocking, Chelsea earlier this year was absolutely magic best atmosphere I’ve ever experienced in my life. (I missed the promotion game 15/16). If we had lower season ticket prices I’m confident we’d fill out the stadium more and make more noise. Most fans I have switched to dodgy sticks because of prices

Compulsory seating killed off the atmosphere in many stadiums due to separating the fans that would sing for the full 90 minutes and scattering them into different areas.

Bristol way overrated based on my trip to see QPR. Away end is a hole. So glad we won that match. There were so many empty home fans seats I was slightly jealous that I didn’t buy one of those and wear a neutral shirt.

I can vouch for that. Coventry have been the loudest at Turf Moor this season, closely followed by Plymouth. Both topping our biggest rivals (Blackburn). 👏

Seems like most of the comments are coming from home fans which seems a bit biased. You’re going to think your stadium is rocking. As a Swans fan I wouldn’t put us that high up for atmosphere. I’d probably place us around 12-15th. Looking forward to pompey on New Year’s Day. Unless we’re all hungover!

To be fair as a boro fan I expected lower sometimes our atmosphere is cracking especially when it’s a big game the full stadium bounces but when it’s a off game or we are playing Somone lower down we tend to be a bit quiet and if we don’t score that’s when it gets very quiet I’ve been home and away and I can say I far prefer away games the fans are always unbelievable away win loose or draw

I'm going to be totally honest here. Whoever made up this list must have come to Swansea ether on Derby day or during our PL days. In general week to week the atmosphere at the Liberty is pathetic! The North East Corner of the ground (next to the away end) is the only area where the atmosphere is any good. Swansea fans including myself have been complaining bout the home atmosphere for a couple of years now. To be fair to the club tho they have looked into how to generate a better home pre kick off atmosphere and have even asked fans what they would like to see and hear prior to kick off.

Leeds home and away is as dead as I've seen it in my 23 years going to see them. Even when we were awful and rarely getting more than 25k, the atmosphere was still there because no one cared about the result. We've been spoiled by the best football many of us have seen and will ever see in our lifetimes, and the way that all came crashing down was all just so draining on the fanbase. Don't get me wrong, when it's good it's still absolutely magic, but in general you can still sense a mourning for what we lost.
