One of the hardest things to do as a trainer or a coach is to ‘leave space for silence’. It’s so tempting to fill that emptiness. BUT you give your trainees the time to think which is the most valuable thing you can do. Very impressive.

I love the fact that Gotham isn’t telling him what to do, but he’s guiding him to make better options for his(myth) development and not just telling him ‘so now you want to do this move’. @@MrCompassionate01 actually, how do people feel about this? i see 1200 used as a threshold quite often too. just for me personally, the system is approximately: below 800 = true beginner (has been taught the rules), 800-1200 = beginner, 1200-1500 = weak intermediate player, 1500+ intermediate and above. although my rating is between 1000 and 1100, so maybe it makes more sense for me to have more fine-grained distinctions among lower-rated players

Referring to taking Levy's remaining pawns with the King: "But you know that's what I'm trying to do." I think that's interesting. Either the moves are obvious to us or we are oblivious to them depending on us and the game played but there's always something to be learned and in this era of blitz, this is gold. 23:00. White can move their pawn from d5 to d6, giving a discovered check with the bishop. If king moves to f8, black loses the queen. Move the pawn from d6 to c7, not only taking a pawn, but also giving ANOTHER discovered check with the other bishop which lies on a3. King moves, take queen with pawn.

Video idea: do this whole "what do you think process" with higher lvls too. For example start with 500 then 700, 900, 1100 and so on up to 2600 and look what these people do wrong or where they should improve.

at 20:10 there's a beautiful manoeuvre unless im missing something. knight to e6 threatening the queen/rook. Therefore black takes the knight with the bishop. white takes back with pawn and unless black moves the king, pawn goes to e7, discovered check by the bishop and winning a rook or a queen if you're lucky.

at 17:40 after Bb5+ Bd7, white could play Ne6 attacking the queen, the bishop being unable to take the knight due to the pin

Day 32: Of requesting Levy to cover opposite coloured bishop endgames. Especially when you have a slight material advantage of being up by two or three pawns against your opponent and you both have opposite coloured bishops as well.
