@EarlOfWarwick15613 жыл бұрын
@@MrCompassionate01 actually, how do people feel about this? i see 1200 used as a threshold quite often too. just for me personally, the system is approximately: below 800 = true beginner (has been taught the rules), 800-1200 = beginner, 1200-1500 = weak intermediate player, 1500+ intermediate and above. although my rating is between 1000 and 1100, so maybe it makes more sense for me to have more fine-grained distinctions among lower-rated players

Thank you Mr. Gotham. Terrific stuff for my young chess game. Watching a teacher at work is nice. You let him finish his thoughts, it's graceful to watch.

I love how there was all this build up, this anticipation, foreshadowing, the drama, on the way to moving the bishop to a3 and a long follow up about all the ways in which it is clever and useful and then he goes "Ok I move my rook here."

Thank you for this video. Watching a lesson like this is incredibly instructive and I feel like I learned a ton as a new player. This also made me want to take a class! I really appreciate how patient and informative you are. Better than most college professors I've ever encountered.
