Very interesting talk! Glad the first video I saw to understand the concept of makerspaces turned out to be so interesting. The talk was full of realistic examples and interesting perspectives.

I would love to see this as a vocational school environment where students from public schools are able to go there. To flip an entire school system and change the pedagogical philosophy of teachers, parents, and even students outright might be a bit too dramatic in today's environment. I think this is great but starting small and waiting for it to catch on would benefit the future generations

Wow, the educational system whole heartly dismantled all the industrial art programs just about everywhere and now they want to dumb it down call it maker spaces. Hay this is not new but back in the day it was called shop class.

Erik McCray shop classes were and still are great, makers spaces are for inventions. You give the class a problem and they all get a box of stuff that they will try to invent something to solve the problem. It's mostly about letting people use their imaginations and their own ingenuity to solve problems or to create something amazing. Not all things are amazing but it's just the process of the kids go through to think through a situation.
