Overall, this video really made me realize that Nitro-Fueled is far and away the best actual game in the lineup. While there's several tracks I preferred the look of on PS1 (Polar Pass is way better at sunset for example), the gameplay of Nitro-Fueled is so damn good that I genuinely prefer playing them in the remake over the original. They're just so fun, the power sliding is sublime, Blue Turbo is way more logical to use and utilizes your existing knowledge to take advantage of, and it feels so much faster. On top of that, it really shows Beenox's chops to take the IMO middling tracks and gameplay from Nitro Kart and make each and EVERY one of them fit right in with the original CTR tracks.

@tvgamerstan61802 жыл бұрын
The reason it didn't become mainstream is because most gamers are biased. Most of them just prefer mario kart and consider other kart racing games trash. That's why the kart racing genre kind of feels non-existent. For most people, all they see is mario kart and nothing else. This game definitely should be just as mainstream as mario kart is. Some other kart racers I enjoyed are mysims racing, speed punks, sonic & sega all-stars racing transformed, pac-man world rally, and nickelodeon kart racers 2.
@KBABZ2 жыл бұрын
I actually like Turbo Track a lot. The triple hairpin is a momentum killer, but once you figure out you have to Brake Slide around it it's really not so bad. I see it as a "Eat it too" course with the sheer number of Turbo Pads that make you go stupid fast. Coco Park I agree is very simple, but it's let down by its placement. IMO Coco Park is much better-suited in the first hub world and put after Roo's Tubes. It's a breather after Sewer Speedway and Mystery Caves, but it's more basic than even Crash Cove because you can fall off on that one. It's a very good spot to practice getting the hang of Power Slide Turbos for beginners. I'd argue that removing the worms from Out of Time is a benefit specifically because they're placed right where the racing line is. Unlike the fly traps from the end of Papu's Pyramid, they actively punish players going for the best route on the track, which feels rather unfair to me. I would also argue that a shattered clock frozen in time is a really unique visual, albeit not as iconic as the anti-grav clock with floating numbers. Prehistoric Playground for me didn't get fun until they added the Drift Engine Style. With the Speed style, very few of the turns actually felt intended to be taken at top speed, especially the spiral and the turn after the first shortcut. With Drift they're actually do-able, making it far easier to get in a high-speed groove that for me is very important in racing games.

Man.. have I been playing Ctr NF wrong this whole time? I’ve only used acceleration Engine style.
@KBABZ2 жыл бұрын
@@CallForGrandPappy I find that Drift is a great compromise, having just under the same speed as, well, Speed, but with better corning ability. For me I always default to Speed, unless the track has a lot of tight turns like Tiny Arena or Drive-Thru Danger, where I use Drift instead.

Prehistoric Playground was mostly hated on because of the placement of the first blue fire turbo pad early on in the track. It provides the faster source of blue fire (compared to the ramp at the end) and could be incredibly make-or-break in higher level play. I absolutely love the track, though. It's got such a creative layout, beautiful visuals, fantastic shortcuts, and some bangin' music. Speaking as a "tryhard" in Nitro-Fueled, sometimes you really gotta give the meta a rest and just appreciate a track for what it is. Beenox did a fantastic job. Great video, Jak! I found myself agreeing with most of your list, honestly. Congratulations on the sponsor. It's amazing seeing how far you've come. Here's hoping you keep on growing, dude.

Seeing my #1 favorite tracks from CTR, CNK, CBNK2 and Nitro-Fueled's Grand Prix content reaching into the Top 25 makes this list much more enjoyable for me. As for your #3, you're not alone man. I love that track, and was really happy it was released in my birthday month in 2019, it felt like a kind of nice birthday present from Beenox (obviously not really). And while your #1 isn't my favorite from that game, I can wholeheartedly see where you're coming from. I love the layout of the track, but also the visuals, particularly in the remake. Overall, a really enjoyable video, a great way to spend an hour and a half. Can't wait for the next list! All that's left to say is, I hope another Crash racing game isn't too far away.

Nina's Nightmare isn't a complex track to race through and it looks like your average Halloween-themed event with little to no reason to exist as a place in the Crash Bandicoot universe, but when you slow down and take a good look around you, it's basically the character of Nina Cortex developed throughout most of the mainline Crash games and summarized in a single race track, as if we're exploring her twisted mind and the trauma that corrupted her since Uncle Cortex imposed her toxic parenting on her.

1:31:21 I feel like part of the reason for people not loving Prehistoric Playground comes down to one major aspect of the track... it being an absolutely, unapologetically momentum heavy track that punishes players super hard for making a mistake early into the race. If you don't build up the proper reserves for that first boost pad or, more commonly, get sniped by another player right as you reach the boost pad... then you lose. Messing up getting that first blue fire boost makes the race take significant longer than if you succeeded, making the ability to catch up to the front of the pack next to impossible off of a single fuck up. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore this track myself... but the reason for the hate is a lot more reasonable than you let on

Never expected Nitro Kart’s courses to go so far, since how much you critiqued the game in both reviews. Also, I’d reckon the reason why Tag Team Racing’s racing gameplay is so indecisive was because the devs couldn’t confidently choose between the traditional Mario Kart 64/ CTR style or the (at the time) new duo team gameplay in Mario Kart Double Dash, so they just smacked the two styles together.

I feel like they could include ANY theme at this point and it wouldn't feel out of place.

I think the real issue pre-historic playground had wasnt the course itself, but the season it was introduced in. The grand prix events made each track it introduced the WHOLE THING basically. As a result, it was always in rotation, always in play, and always getting played. Thats why if the track was unliked or downright hated by the community, the seasons were basically trash in comparison, cuz it didnt really give them a reason to keep playing that much during it if they werent having fun. Dont get me wrong, the track is great, but it suffers from being one of the earliest and probably best tracks in all of the grand prix events, cuz it really didnt get much better after that.
@alchemy57502 жыл бұрын
Unpopular opinion: Spyro Circuit is probably the most underwhelming track of CTR NF. The idea is perfect, like you know... a CTR racing map in Spyro's world has so many possibilities. All the magical and creative worlds, open fields and thighter sections, supercharge sliders (like the ones in Tree Tops) that give you blue fire and many, many difficult and well-hidden shortcuts. Instead, we got a pretty basic track, and while the portal idea is a great one, we only get a small glimpse of what could have been included. I think making the map longer and adding more worlds, portals, features and blue fire could've made it from one of the worst to one of the best CTR maps.

Here we go again, you showcasing your absolute madness in making these kinda videos and I mean this in the best way possible and I think we can all say that we were ALL waiting for you to drop this ranking video 😊 Honestly I can't disagree with your list, I think it's pretty solid and I found myself agreeing with a lot of what you said. I would've put some tracks a little higher as I have different personal taste(s) like how I would've personally put Nina's Nightmare higher but I'm bias because uh, just look at my channel, should be obvious I have a type LOL I also would've put Tiny Arena higher as well but ultimately your top 10, I can't argue with and your number one choice, I had a feeling that track was gonna be your number one but it's a damn good pick and I agree tenfold with it being the number one. Anyway amazing video as always Jak~

Without a doubt this is one of the best works of art i've seen, alongside all you "All levels ranked" videos!! Your videos helped me through tough times at work and just remind me of my childhood in the best way possible... Thank you! Oh and plzzzz do " RAYMAN all levels ranked!!"

I wonder if there's a stigma against Prehistoric Playground and the whole prehistoric GP as a whole because that was when microtransactions were added into the game. I guess I can't blame people, but that has nothing to do with the overall quality of the track itself. Another amazing ELR. These have been some of my favorite videos not just from this channel, but in general. The dedication, work and love that goes into these is incredibly admirable. It's always a good time looking through all the great and not-so-great levels in our favorite franchises. Heck, awhile ago, I made my own list ranking every mission/level in the Sly series. It's such a fun time thinking back on all of the experiences we had playing these games, and how good (and sometimes frustrated) we felt playing them.

I didnt realy liked the Nitrokart stages back then. But what NitroFueld showed me was, that it was just the slow gameplay from NK. The stages with the fast and awesome controle from NF made them super enjoyable and almost on the same level as CTR's

Oxide Station will forever be my favourite ever track. It sums up to me why CTR is the greatest ever Kart game as CTR relies heavily on the Track Layout and Mechanics unlike other racers. Oxide Station has no obstacles whatsoever which actually enhances the track as this track is brutal to learn but is completely manageable and fun for all levels off racers. Also the Music is epic aswell. The end of the track too me is actually my favourite part as its the hardest part of the track too master and its so fucking rewarding if you do.
